Early Firmware and EScribe Suite Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

In the change log in the first post perhaps ?

This version features:
(1) a new Materials tab where you can store and transfer material settings onto and from the DNA,
[We've included our Ni200, and Steam Engine's SS316 and Ti1. These will be upgraded in the future, if better data becomes available, and others added if others become common.]
(2) the ability to change a profile's material without EScribe, by holding down all three buttons while locked,
(3) Profile Name and Material Name can be displayed on-screen as custom fields,
(4) profiles now have a "Temperature Dominant" option, making temperature the main adjustment for a profile if you want to do so,
(5) for small batteries, in the Mod tab, you can reduce max continuous and pulse battery input currents,
(6) in Help->Language, you can override the language detection,
(7) Device Monitor has "Simulate Button Presses" for remote testing,
(8) Device Monitor can run Python scripts for scientific study and automation,
(9) the ability to adjust the temperature increment, and
(10) various OS compatibility and miscellaneous improvements.

lock then hold down all 3 buttons for a few seconds
Thanks for that info!
You know if there is a place that lists the updated changes, button presses, etc...?
so far big plus on the temp dominate choice, material storage , the added battery specs makes it all the more better in my book. took a bit but so far i like it.

there was one error i came across while uploading materials. it might have to deal with csv file names with numbers. like 1.csv for example

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

yeh, mine did that so i just right clicked on the warning and selected install anyway..
Mine did that as well. Norton was telling me it was alright but Windows 10 was giving the warning. Installed without a hitch as soon as I clicked on install anyway.

how do you change profiles on the mod with the new update..i cant seam to figure out how to do it. you used to lock then + or - to switch..?

Hold the + and - down to lock the power/temperature. Then press + or - twice quickly as Margucci said. It's the same as it was before the update(s).

Steve

You welcome, glad you got it sorted. Nothing to be sorry about. This is a forum where we are supposed to help each other out. You were having a problem, asked a question, a couple of us answered and problem solved. That's the way it's supposed to work.
Cheers,

Just a question, at what point do these software and firmware updates get pushed to all the users via the autoupdate built in to escribe?

I plugged in my brand new Lavabox last night and installed the software from the download link on the DNA200 info page (i.e. the main link that is presented to the public). The software did not prompt me to download a new version nor new firmware. Today, I came across this thread and went to check the firmware I was running. Turns out, I was on 8-21-15 (I assume the same for the software, I didn't check). I saw here the recommended release was 10-21-15 so I went ahead and installed that software and firmware bundle. My question is this, if that version is the recommended, why not push it via escribe to everybody? It's clearly not the bleeding edge/testing version as the 2-12-16 build is listed as that. I get that the DNA200 is inherently a device for tinkerers but I would not have found the "latest" software/firmware had I not stumbled across it. So, are ALL the builds listed here not "production"? If not, why is escribe updating itself and devices to a build from 6 months ago?

Hi guys,

have updated the firmware on three of my devices for awhile. Found that material tab on one of my device (a diy box) would not arrange materials on device alphabetically (not even in order of adding, rather a fixed specific order with v3 and v3.5 ss on top) as compared to my other 2 VT200.

Anyone experienced the same? vt200.jpg  bug.jpg

edit: fixed by swapping mod parameters with working saved files. (sorry that I saved over the faulty file but its all fixed now :) )
