Hello all, I've been working on this as a side project for a while now. If you're one of the 5 people in the world who uses Linux , and EScribe is the last thing you keep Windows for, well, here you go. I expect this will have bugs and broken functionality. Please let me know what you run into. Also, I don't use Linux on a daily basis, so if anything seems unnatural to you relative to ordinary Linux look-and-feel, please mention that as well. https://downloads.evolvapor.com/SetupEScribe2_SP71_1_US.run https://downloads.evolvapor.com/SetupEScribe2_SP71_1_INT.run The installer is for 64-bit Linux running on x86 processors (Intel / AMD) and ARM (Raspberry Pi). For this to work, you will need installed on your computer: (1) Mono, (2) Mono's certificate store, and (3) GTK 3. On Debian or Ubuntu, the packages are: (1) mono-complete, (2) ca-certificates-mono, and (3) libgtk-3-0. Enjoy James Changes: SP71 improves support for GTK 3, and fixes bugs. It's just added, so please be on the lookout for user interface bugs! Thanks! Known bugs: ECigStats does not support starting at login. Notes: EScribe Suite *can* run without Mono's certificate store installed, but ECigStats may be unable to synchronize, and Get Information, Restore Defaults, and similar functions which require accessing Evolv servers may not work.

Early Firmware and EScribe Suite Discussion Thread
James replied to David Campbell's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
@etab75: I'm hoping Boost Punch works well enough with non-temperature-sensing coils that we can stick with it instead of changing things. (SP26's Boost was a first try. It was discontinuous in power, which meant you had to either use too much power near the end of the boost, or too little at the start.) I'd be curious to hear how well it works for yall, if you're using non-temperature-sensing coils. Brandon was able to use a lot of his coils quite well with a Boost Punch of 7 or 8. It should get up to temperature quickly without being glaringly noticeable, a bit like preheat (minus temperature protection). -

James replied to David Campbell's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
@Dragonlore, the combined fields will choose Preheat or Boost automatically, depending on whether the coil is temperature sensing or not. They are there to make it easier to create a theme supporting both. Also, themes from older versions which expose Preheat Enable and Preheat Punch will automatically use Preheat/Boost Enable and Preheat/Boost Punch. -
Themes with 24hour Clock and individual Timezones
James replied to X-R4Y's topic in DNA 75 Color and 100 Color
Interesting! What version of EScribe Suite are you running? -

I just wonder how it got wrong in the first place. (Did you buy it from somewhere at UTC+0 with the battery included?) -

@X-R4Y: If you use Update Clock in Diagnostics on Device Monitor, does it fix it? -

Does this happen when it updates the clock from your PC? How is your PC clock set? -
Hello @X-R4Y. I've posted SP8 in "EARLY SERVICE PACK (all devices)" of the Early Firmware and EScribe Suite thread. It fixes the problem you are having with Ohm Lock.

Early Firmware and EScribe Suite Discussion Thread
James replied to David Campbell's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
gorman, I was replying to yoseff, who wasn't fully aware of it. In any case SP27 does Boost better than SP26. I'm not a fan of repeating things either, but the nature of forums is not ideal for getting information across -
Early Firmware and EScribe Suite Discussion Thread
James replied to David Campbell's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
EScribe Suite SP8 includes DNA 75 Color SP27. It doesn't include any new Service Packs for monochrome DNAs as yet. Technically Preheat is impossible on Kanthal coils. It requires knowing temperatures, and operates under temperature protection. If resistances read correctly, Preheat should be safe. DNA 75 Color SP27 does include a Boost feature (International Edition only) which, if enabled, performs a similar function on Kanthal coils. I will be curious to see how well it works for people. -
I've posted SP8 in the "EARLY SERVICE PACK (all devices)" section of this post: Let me know if it does/does not fix your Check Atomizer issue, or if you run into any problems with it.

Temp Protect and How to Add Wire Types
James replied to Anthony Alms's topic in DNA 75 Color and 100 Color
If the puff is cutting off from Temp Protected, as opposed to lowering the power, that indicates it is measuring a temperature over 800F. Make sure your board's ground screws are not loose. This can cause resistance to shift significantly when firing at power vs. measuring resistance. -
Early Firmware and EScribe Suite Discussion Thread
James replied to David Campbell's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
I've posted EScribe 2.0 SP8 as an Early Service Pack. -
We're testing it at present. Shouldn't be too long unless we run into any bugs.
-
You should still be able to lock it fine if you upload that from EScribe.
-
Good catch. It looks like altering it on the device (as opposed to via EScribe) doesn't trigger a save, unless the material or Ohms change. I'll have this fixed for SP8.
-
Still working on SP8.

Setting the temperature above 300 C or 600 F
James replied to Lord Farquad's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
Just make sure to leave temperatures under 150F or so alone. They are used for Cold Ohms correction as well.- 6 replies

What firmware Service Pack are you running? By the way, EScribe automatically saves settings which would include your theme. Go to Help -> Backups. If you used Theme Installer, Theme Designer will have the backup (or the Backups button of Theme Installer).
-
Have you tried removing the batteries and putting them back in? It could have been caused by a communication glitch with the screen.

Setting the temperature above 300 C or 600 F
James replied to Lord Farquad's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
Alter the material curve, keeping in mind resistances will be normalized around the 70F value. For example, if the working range for your test is 600 to 800F, look up the ratio of resistances to the 70F value. Then put those values for 400F to 600F in the curve. Then if you set it to 500F you will get 700F etcetra. By shifting the curve you will shift the readings but be able to go over 600F.- 6 replies

This is a bit of an odd question I know, but by any chance, were the ones that didn't detect connected to your computer when you powered it up (and the ones that did work, not connected)?

Hello @Nobbi. Thanks for finding this. I've fixed it and it will be working again in SP8. -
Most likely this coming week.
