  1. We don't do anything with IBus. That is related to your input method editor. Does the installer run properly? It will install to the Science group in the menu (often shows up as Other). You should not have to run the installer as root.
  2. I've just posted up EScribe Suite 2.0 SP9. It contains minor fixes for DNA 250, and for DNA 60 international customers only, it supports Boost. Feedback is welcome. @Austin Green: DNA 60 is more niche so we are testing it there first.
  3. I've posted a new version, SP9. Let me know if you run into any bugs with it. Changelog is in the Early Firmware thread. The installer script, on Debian-derived distributions, will check for the needed dependencies and offer to run apt-get to install them. Also, EScribe Suite will automatically offer to create udev rules if it doesn't have permission to access your DNA device.
  4. @Wayneo, if it stays there instead of reading ?, I'll have to check that out. (What you are referring to, starting with DNA 250 1.2 SP5, we implemented quick fuse protections. This resolved a lot of popped fuse failures. That said, it limits output current to 24A only while measuring resistance, but there's a minimum power to consider a resistance reading valid. One way around this would be to allow a minimum current as well. I may try this.)
  5. @Wayneo, how far off are you measuring Mod Resistance? On a 60, 75, or 75C it should be able to measure quite low (particularly the 75C). 200/250 don't go below about 5 mOhm right now to protect the fuse, which I do need to work on for a future Service Pack, but given there are no 510s below 3-4 mOhm (Evolv 510 is around 4 mOhm, is there anything lower?), I wouldn't call this the major source of inaccuracy.
  6. Hi @Fractal. When you get Unhandled Exception, what are the details of that message? Thanks! (My test environment is actually Debian 8.9.)
  7. Did you apply the Service Pack? It will offer it with a message with a lightbulb, but you have to click it to apply that Service Pack.
  8. Could you post or send your .ecig file? It might be a bug. Also, are you running Windows, Mac, or Linux (and if you go to Help->About EScribe, what Version?)? Does the default theme upload fine?
  9. @HolmanGT: The US Edition of EScribe Suite does include SP27, just the US Edition of it.
  10. Resistance (including contact resistance) is the instantaneous drop you see when you first fire. The battery will sag as you fire, that's not resistance. @Moncrieffey, is your coil temperature-protected? If so, update your 75C to SP27. You may just be seeing Weak Battery from preheat pushing 75W (or 100W if you are using International Edition firmware and enabled it) to get you up to temperature quickly. SP27 (correctly) does not raise the message if the power it is limited to is still above the power you've chosen. Similarly, if you are using Boost on a non-temperature protected coil.
  11. By any chance does the atomizer have nickel legs? (The legs heating up even 20 degrees would register as 100 degrees in Stainless, even if the coil is sitting at room temperature. I wish this were a rare issue.) If you vape it in power-controlled mode at a comfortable level, graph Live Ohms and see if it reads something completely improbable for Stainless. 480F (around where you hear a crackle) is 20% higher Ohms than room temperature if it's all Stainless.
  12. Go into Device Monitor and see what it says for Buttons:. If it says Up, that means the Up button may be stuck down or something is causing it to read that way.
  13. Hello all, I've been working on this as a side project for a while now. If you're one of the 5 people in the world who uses Linux , and EScribe is the last thing you keep Windows for, well, here you go. I expect this will have bugs and broken functionality. Please let me know what you run into. Also, I don't use Linux on a daily basis, so if anything seems unnatural to you relative to ordinary Linux look-and-feel, please mention that as well. https://downloads.evolvapor.com/SetupEScribe2_SP57_US.run https://downloads.evolvapor.com/SetupEScribe2_SP57_INT.run The installer is for 64-bit Linux running on x86 processors (Intel / AMD) and ARM (Raspberry Pi). For this to work, you will need installed on your computer: (1) Mono, (2) Mono's certificate store, (3) GTK 2, and (4) GTK Sharp 2. On Debian or Ubuntu, the packages are: (1) mono-complete, (2) ca-certificates-mono, (3) libgtk2.0-0, and (4) gtk-sharp2. Enjoy James Known bugs: ECigStats does not support starting at login. EScribe Suite does not register file associations yet, so you can't install themes directly by double clicking a theme file. Notes: EScribe Suite *can* run without Mono's certificate store installed, but ECigStats may be unable to synchronize, and Get Information, Restore Defaults, and similar functions which require accessing Evolv servers may not work.
  14. What operating system are you running? Also, are you running EScribe 1.2, or EScribe 2.0? (The latter from the DNA 75 Color page.)
  15. @etab75: I'm hoping Boost Punch works well enough with non-temperature-sensing coils that we can stick with it instead of changing things. (SP26's Boost was a first try. It was discontinuous in power, which meant you had to either use too much power near the end of the boost, or too little at the start.) I'd be curious to hear how well it works for yall, if you're using non-temperature-sensing coils. Brandon was able to use a lot of his coils quite well with a Boost Punch of 7 or 8. It should get up to temperature quickly without being glaringly noticeable, a bit like preheat (minus temperature protection).
  16. @Dragonlore, the combined fields will choose Preheat or Boost automatically, depending on whether the coil is temperature sensing or not. They are there to make it easier to create a theme supporting both. Also, themes from older versions which expose Preheat Enable and Preheat Punch will automatically use Preheat/Boost Enable and Preheat/Boost Punch.
  17. Interesting! What version of EScribe Suite are you running?
  18. I just wonder how it got wrong in the first place. (Did you buy it from somewhere at UTC+0 with the battery included?)
  19. @X-R4Y: If you use Update Clock in Diagnostics on Device Monitor, does it fix it?
  20. Does this happen when it updates the clock from your PC? How is your PC clock set?
  21. Hello @X-R4Y. I've posted SP8 in "EARLY SERVICE PACK (all devices)" of the Early Firmware and EScribe Suite thread. It fixes the problem you are having with Ohm Lock.
  22. gorman, I was replying to yoseff, who wasn't fully aware of it. In any case SP27 does Boost better than SP26. I'm not a fan of repeating things either, but the nature of forums is not ideal for getting information across
  23. EScribe Suite SP8 includes DNA 75 Color SP27. It doesn't include any new Service Packs for monochrome DNAs as yet. Technically Preheat is impossible on Kanthal coils. It requires knowing temperatures, and operates under temperature protection. If resistances read correctly, Preheat should be safe. DNA 75 Color SP27 does include a Boost feature (International Edition only) which, if enabled, performs a similar function on Kanthal coils. I will be curious to see how well it works for people.
  24. I've posted SP8 in the "EARLY SERVICE PACK (all devices)" section of this post: Let me know if it does/does not fix your Check Atomizer issue, or if you run into any problems with it.
  25. If the puff is cutting off from Temp Protected, as opposed to lowering the power, that indicates it is measuring a temperature over 800F. Make sure your board's ground screws are not loose. This can cause resistance to shift significantly when firing at power vs. measuring resistance.
