What tools/machines did you use? Looks like every little detail finished to nth degree. Beautiful.
Thanks Mad Scientist. My missus bought me a Proxxon micro mill last year for my birthday last year and it stopped working just after this birthday. I used this years birthday funds to buy a swig 1XL mill/drill and it's been great. I also use a dremel and needle files to finish off.
Nice. I have to see if Santa might be willing to spring for something that expensive lol. Your experience shines through though. I am no expert machinist but I know enough to know that ain't easy.
It seems as though it's expensive but I haven't bought a mod in over 2 years lol
Podunk Steam
Looks like I get to assemble my first DNA 200 mod again. I botched the display somehow, first display I've messed up. I just ordered two more 3D prints and three more DNA200 boards. If first you don't succeed!Off with me to get more battery contacts.

My favourite one is your previous build. I wish I had a micromill so I could give it a shot myself; my hammond build is ok but I think I'll go for a custom 3D print. DaRoach
Ok so i rebuilt my chip in a 1590b box with 2200mah 3s turnigy as i found that the 900mah was just too little battery and i need sometging to last me the whole day.

Seigfried
Nice looking mods there people. I need to go back in time to start mine. Delivery on Sept 5 according to USPS so I'll have to build a time machine to get it. Actually those fine people at the post office sent it to Kansas City. Hope to get started on Wednesday if they don't misdirect it again.
UKDTweak
Here is my humble attempt, in a Hammond 1550p, the box is messy on the outside from the masking tape as ive not had a chance to clean it up yet, but it works and that's the main thing... Podunk Steam
My 200s showed up in the mail box today so I swapped the 204 battery contacts for the 209s and swiped a display from one of the new boards and all seems to be good. It auto fired the fire time but a battery reset and removing the atomizer cured it. I'd consider this an advanced build for anyone interested in the Bootlegger design. I'll be doing a complete video build once my other 3D prints show up that might help with the process. A picture of a customers build who managed a head start on me. I had the wrong 510 connector listed and the door screws needed a little adjusting but I like it.

RickCain
After two failed 3d printed enclosures, I finally got my first DNA200 up and running. Other than the battery meter not working this is a serious upgrade from a DNA 40!
UKDTweak
Nice mod, ive seen the same looking one on ebay for sale, it there somewhere you can buy that box or are you the one selling it on ebay?As for the battery meter, have you run the watt hour calculator and set it up?
RickCain
Actually I have not ran the watt hour caculator and will later today after I get a fresh pair of batteries for it. For test purposes I used the pair from my VF and didn't want to use them for more than making sure all is functional. Here is the link to the box - the guy is SUPER FAST at shipping. Mine came from Italy to California in less than a week. https://boxmod.ecwid.com/#!/Quadro/p/53352017/category=

FireBALL
A quick hand check still waiting on magnets to arrive, hence the back is taped. I'll post a better picture after i have installed the magnets

VapingBad
Nice use of space in that design @Whatthe?
Guest
VapingBadNice use of space in that design @Whatthe?Thanks it was a tight squeeze as the wire is 16 gauge semi rigid (low strand count) and the 510 had to be soldered in with the board in situ as it wasn't flexible enough. Could have saved myself a bit of time if I had just waited for my other wire to arrive but impatience got the better of me. I'll save that for the next one. awsum140
Here's my 1590G/DNA200/1000mah mod. It took a lot longer to build than I anticipated, nothing unusual about that. The basics were no screws through the case while still retaining the battery securely for safety and being able to easily dis-assemble in case of problems or failure. That lead to a lot of JB weld and time waiting for that to harden, a day at a time, for all the brackets needed to accomplish that. Then I got distracted when making the template for the face and offset the display window 2mm closer to the fire button rather than further from the fire button to simplify cable management for the display. That lead to cutting out the display window in the box to accept the complete display module and making a trim piece for the face with the display window in the right location. That, of course, added more "machining" time and another day of JB weld curing for that trim piece. It's not "perfect" but it's close enough and I'm satisfied. It is heavier than I expected but that is no deal breaker. If I ever get ambitious I may replace the aluminum buttons with brass buttons, but the aluminum works fine for me. Keep in mind, I'm not a machinist and only have a drill press, Dremel, hacksaw and files to work with for machining. The internals -
