Evolv rebel 250 display + update problem
dwcraig1 replied to IvoryTower's topic in General Discussion
My guess would be that the ribbon on the screen is being pinched under neath the fire button. I don't know what to think about the firmware issue, did you downgrade it back to 1.2 SP 5.1? -
Well those are about if not the exact same settings that come default from Evolv on DNA75, 200 and 250, perhaps more.
-
DNA60's don't use one as the charger is not on the board, about the best explanation that I can provide. So while the settings are there and can be changed there is no way to measure it. I hope that answers your question some what.
-
So I didn't really know the answer for sure so I installed the US firmware on my DNA75C and tried to enable the profile that I was using to be able to Replay. No you need the International version. Just go ahead and install it as the boards are the same boards, it's a legal thing for Evolv. Here is what I got when I tried to enable Relay with the US version (SP 33.2 US) Edit: So after posting the above I noted that it only mentioned Boost so I went back and did it over. Replay did not work with the US version.

I'm going to respond to this but it probably isn't going to do you folks any good as they need to be returned. But I will tell you how to figure out what's most likely at fault. Connect you mod to EScribe and make sure it's set for 2 cell operation. Go to Device Monitor and check the voltage of cells 1 & 2, if one of them is higher than 4.2 volts and the other is real low then the battery management chip has gone south. Then if no cells are above 4.2 volts, The voltages are read from the balance tap at the bottom of the board. Most likely the connections to them is poor for what ever reason. So the problem could be with the battery sled wiring, see image, Since these are new they need to be returned where purchased. If that proves too difficult open a ticket with Evolv, perhaps they can help with it. Check under the battery door, look at that small connection between the cells that makes when the battery door closes, that is the connection to tap #1....might be a problem there.

Connect to Escribe /Device Monitor, down on the bottom towards the right side is "Buttons". With no buttons pressed it should say "none". Will it fire using "Puff"?

Don't look at the screen as it looks authentic, look at the component layout on the board.
-
It is capable of being programmed to say what ever is programmed into it . If your guy puts in a board without programming it then it will have the stock Evolv setting and will say "Evolv" on the start up screen. I hate when the builders don't add a data capable USB port. EScribe is half of the show.
-
I was initially fooled in to thinking that the one one the right was DNA60 till I seen one that had a see through case and you could see a different arrangement of the board's components.
-
Here is an example of where the menu is deceiving, the one on the left is a DNA60 and the one on the right it not.

Perhaps you could make a different profile in EScribe for each of the various coils.
-
The board needs to know if the atomizer that you just put on is the old one and is perhaps warm from just using it. In such a case when you choose old the mod has remembered what the ohms were when cold and applies that setting. Select new and the board with use the existing ohm reading as cold ohms. Hope that helps answer your question, if not asked away.

You might give the .25 ohm pods a try.

DNA250c Balance port info needed please
dwcraig1 replied to jsforder's topic in Batteries and Charging
You could take 4 cells for example and connect each two in parallel and wire the pair in sled in series. The EScribe setting in such a case would be for 2 cells but the balance could be off slightly between each cell in the pair though it would still work quite well -

I can only guess but would think it's because 2 cell or how ever many was selected in EScribe. -
DNA250c Balance port info needed please
dwcraig1 replied to jsforder's topic in Batteries and Charging
A great question. Device monitor shows no increase charge rate between the bridged cells and appear to balance charge just fine. Note I am just a moderator and not an Evolv tech but pretty familiar with using the product. So if you bridge it for 2 cells you shouldn't be using 3 cells... for example. -
I'm not sure if I understand your post but here is something to consider. The DNA 250 and DNA250 are buck boards. When these boards operate on two cells the maximum voltage output is lower than what the data sheet states for these boards. For the DNA250 board the maximum votage output is 6.2 volts and the DNA250C is only slightly higher when operated with two cells. What ever the voltage drop of the cells is the output voltage can never be higher. I putyour .6 ohm coil @ .7 ohm hot @ 55 watts into an Ohm's Law calculator and got 6.2 volts, you are probably hitting the cap. Try building your coil a little lower, say .35 ohm and see if it makes a difference. If you are not achieving the set temp setting then you for the most part vaping wattage.

They are using a chassis ground for the 510 so there are only 3 solder joints. -

You might try a cell phone repair guy, someone skilled at soldering. I have one, it doesn't look that hard. About a month or so ago I post some pictures showing how to get to the board. -

While they are in the US you might try Evolv. https://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add&category=1 -
First thing to do is to try another cable. Make sure the cable is for data as well as for power. Check the cable with another device, perhaps a phone. If the USB port is USB 3.0 there may be one that is USB 2.0, try that. There have been reports of some USB 3.0 controllers not working with DNA boards.

They have a very good charger that balances the individual cells, I charge mine internally. Your choice though.

Will it load an Ecig file? In EScribe with mod connected go to file/open, select the ecig file I have uploaded, upload to devise. DNA200 VT133.ecig
