Just the most recent for fw, but the full EScribe package is not in every up date (in ones > 50 MB, last being V1.2Sp3).

Sounds like the fuse.

3.2 V is very high, it will cause battery warnings when any 1 cell reaches that under load, for LiPos the default is 3.09 and you can go below 3 with 18650s. It may also be that cell 3 is weaker than the others.

What are your battery watt hours and soft cut-off settings? Also have a look in device monitor to see if one or more cells is sagging excessively when firing.

Yes

You could try forcing a fw update - Tools - Apply Service Pack

Have a look in Windows Device Manager for a USB device with a yellow warning triangle icon, if you find one uninstall it, then scan for hardware changes and it should reinstall.

You can get the Evolv csv for 316 by opening a default config for you board, going to the materials tab and saving the 316 from the list in the left hand list, then connect your mod and remove 316 from any profile using it, then the materials lists. Now import the csv you saved in the left hand list, copy to the right hand list and select in the profiles you want and upload settings to device.

TC & Power mode read SS ohms different
VapingBad replied to mactavish's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
It just doesn't need to keep track of the cold res in power mode so I would expect to see it higher. It will just adjust for the mod resistance and continually adjust the power from monitoring the voltage and the current, the resistance is for info and not needed to work out the voltage/power. -
I would leave it at 3.09 as that is aimed at LiPos, it is the cut-off under load so the battery will not stay that low.
-
It should be working now James fixed it last night, it works for me.
-
I suppose I am the "moron" who kept insisting not to lock res, misquote, locking res stops DNAs working as designed, will not be as accurate as not locking and should not be done by default. Personally I think you have a build, connection or mismatched wire profile issue. Please stop posting extensively about other devices, this forum is for people to discuss DNAs there are plenty of places on the internet to compare products. I am not saying never mention other devices, but it is too likely to start arguments and attract negative comment about those devices and this forum is not here to criticise the rest of the market.

Yes to automatically turn the screen off when charging set the charging brightness to 0% on the screen tab in escribe.

Yeah my rolo has > 35k puffs and over a year old now without issues, but the battery cradle is cracked by all four magnets.

Cheers Wayneo, if you think about how temp protection and variable wattage were invented Evolv were ther first for both and they have never had a variable voltage device device. From the get go they developed the boards to work from a wattage setting and regulated power in real time and not just volts which many of the less sophisticated VW and temp protected/controlled boards that came after do. So from the boards point of view the voltage is a moment by moment value, not a setting and is never calculated before so there is no reason to store it.
-
It only asks if it's a new coil if the resistance is close to that of the last coil and not every time, so it sounds like everything is fine.
-
That is because unlike many mods it does real time wattage control and not just measuring the resistance once then working out the voltage.

Chip set dead after plugging into Escribe.

You have lifted the battery negative pad, you should never put the strain of bending wires on solder pads, especially these very thick wires. Always bend the wire to it's final shape before soldering, you can get more flexible wire with finer strands, but if the solder wicks up the wire it will still become stiff. Also holding the heat on for too long can cause the pads glue to melt. You may get away with connecting to a mounting point, but you may have damaged some of the nearby tracks.

Don't worry about Atty analyser showing ? with a dead short, it has done that for the last few fw updates. If I were you I would back up to a more simple reliable coils like single coil Ni or Ti and confirm that works. SS has such a low TCR and because it is an alloy that TCR can vary a lot which can overload your diagnostics with too many variables, I use StealthVapes SS316L and it is hassle free. Though I find that with multi strand builds sometimes it takes a bit more tourque on the coil screws to ensure all strands have a first class connection, I don't often use claptons etc as I feel they are just going to be much harder work in that respect (and a PITA to clean). Ohms too low can be from low battery or poor battery connection, like I said maybe a good time to do a simple Ni or Ti single coil to confirm it works then address your issues one at a time.

Watt hours are watt hours, 2 cell or 3 cell the watt hours will be similar for the physical size of the battery, but 3 cell gives you more options with resistance range and power.
