  1. mitecs are nice. depends what you want.... https://modcrate.myshopify.com/collections/all-switches http://www.varitube.com/YiHi-SX350-DIY-Parts_c_23.html http://www.modmaker.co.uk/Mod-Making-Supplies/Switches
  2. looks good john. glad you're happy with the end result. enjoy!
  3. gotta love the 2 amp charging tho, right? that's the ONLY reason i bought a VS dna 200.
  4. nice mod. what do you do when the VS board dies? evolv won't repair or replace VS's proprietary boards. what screen did you use? the ribbon looks like it's really stressed by the zif connector.
  5. i forgot to get the forum a gift. so whatever billw50 brought, i'm going to sneak my sig inside the card and barge in say it's from billw50 AND me. classic move! wow, one year. time flies. hope it's here another year and many more after that!
  6. this small update from evolv which tweaks the "weak battery" message. here's the link, read through. /topic/66088-topic/?do=findComment&comment=893826
  7. from what can see your live ohms go down slightly from your cold ohms when firing. as you know the resistance has to rise while being fired in order for the dna or any other tc board to do temp control. so you need to narrow down what causing your live ohms to be the same as cold while firing. did TC ever work on this mod? edit....wild guess without having the device in hand, something 510 related. either the 510 wiring, soldering or 510 itself. edit 2..... if you open "atomizer analyzer" in escribe with an atty (same atty you used for the screenshot) on the mod and wiggle it or shake the mod, does the resistance vary greatly (go up and down)?
  8. like @retired stated, can you post a screenshot of device monitor while trying to fire the device in tc mode. it can tell us a lot of useful info. have these boxes checked while firing a few times. when using device monitor tell us what type of wire you're using and what csv/tcr as well.
  9. welcome @walsc. looks great. i'm a sucker for anything made with highly figured wood. reminds me of some really good AAA curly maple with a nice tung oil or hand rubbed wax. i'm currently on a search for some AAAA quilted maple blanks for a future mod. it will be my first wood mod, so we'll see how badly i can mar up a nice piece of wood!
  10. sweet deal frog! i'm jealous. i should really pick up one of those cc/cv charge boards. i have the perfect power supply for the input for that board. keep us posted.
  11. every time i opened a ticket with evolv their response has went to my spam folder. sometimes received the next day, sometimes a week. maybe just give it a check and see. i'm unaware of any phone number available to the public. give it a few more business days before giving up or opening another ticket, they're most likely busy.
  12. @retird is right. i just tried 20 awg stranded and although it does fit it's pain to thread it. i wouldn't recommend using 20 awg stranded let alone solid. stick with the recommended wire gauges.
  13. i'm quite happy with smy's batt sled in the 75. i only get the weak battery message at around 20% batt. this is with 75 watt preheat, 11 punch for 2.3 seconds at a set wattage of 65w. this is with my LG HD2C batts. really great batteries, i definitely recommend them for high wattage vaping on the 75. they're a cheaper alternative to the vtc4, while having the same if not a little better CDR. it's also a lot of fun to open and let the battery door snap closed with your fingers while holding the mod.
  14. you could. is there a reason why so big and not stranded?
  15. welcome to the forum @mossmoon. you know the old saying, "there are no stupid questions........"
  16. could you also start including individual cell voltage readings with digital multi? to see if there are any discrepancies between how accurate the DNA reads cells compared to a meter. a good/trusted meter.
  17. ecig.com's $55 deal? i almost jumped on that. that's mainly an RMA issue if the mod won't wake up unless the usb is inserted. the board most likely needs to be replaced. you can try and contact hotcig directly or you can open a help ticket with evolv from their website.
  18. run of the mill SS316L from FT. 24g. i would like to try SS430 someday mainly for it's higher TCR. SS316L's TCR - 0.00092 vs. SS430's TCR - 0.00138. should be a smoother vape than 316 but hear it's extremely springy and difficult to work with.
  19. i love titanium. specifically 24g. however SS has been making an impression on me lately as well.
  20. so you are able to connect to escribe and see your voltages in device monitor? is it displaying the correct 'pack' voltage?
  21. I TRUST NOTHING! EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IS OUT TO GET YOU!
  22. just make sure you're charging ONLY the cell that is lower in voltage in respect to the other two. double check and find the bad cell's balance wires with a multi meter. make sure you have the polarity correct as well. charger positive to battery positive and charger negative to battery negative. i don't mean to nag, just be safe is all. if you feel uncomfortable doing, DON'T. you could always just buy another lipo. i don't foresee you having any problems, though. post back with some pics of your rig and your results.
  23. if you want to try this. dwcraig1 can explain more. basically you're targeting the unbalanced cell. you want to bring the voltage up on it. you single out the unbalanced cell through the balance tap for charging.
  24. you don't have an 18650 battery charger laying around? hang on, a friend of mine here has a pic showing what i'm trying to explain. let me find it.......hang on
  25. lol those ones with the turkey baster on top of the soldering pencil. garbage. you gotta have the spring loaded sucker, they work the best for me at least. desoldering braid works well for me too but i'm not fond of the constant heat you have to apply to the part to get the braid to work.
