  1. As Nick said in his first sentence: (Nick works for Evolv) The DNA 75 voltage limit is intentional, and is a hardware limitation.
  2. OK.... see what you are saying.... if he doesn't want it to even charge while he is turning it off.... fog cleared.... thx
  3. Only point that confused me was the procedure of Post 5? I took it that not taking out the batteries etc. would could allow it to charge.... just wanted to understand what you said because it fogged my pea-brain...

    DNA 250

I've not seen a 250 (just pictures of it) nor seen much info on it yet..... not much discussion either yet..... From the Data sheet: Fuse Because of the energy and power stored in the battery, the DNA 250 includes an onboard 30 amp SMT fuse. The fuse is located on the underside of the PCB near the B+ battery terminal, and is labelled “Fuse” In normal operation the fuse should never blow. However, in the event of an error or short circuit on the board, the fuse will protect the battery. Should it need to be replaced, the fuse is manufactured by Bel Power Solutions, part number C1H30. If you suspect your fuse is blown, check continuity across the fuse to verify using a Multimeter. Replacement is accomplished by de-soldering the blown fuse from the board and soldering on a new fuse. DNA 250 is designed for battery packs that are permanently installed into the device, or battery packs that install using an insulated, polarized connector rated for at least 30 amps. If the battery pack is installed with the polarity reversed, the fuse will blow to protect the battery pack, board and user. If you are manufacturing a device that is designed to be used with three individual replaceable 18650 cells, the DNA250 now offers reverse polarity protection.
  5. VB.... I'm puzzled now..... turning off charging on a 75 immediately turns off the charge LED on the device and charge bolt immediate leaves.... so it's still charging? Turn on charging and bolt and LED immediately comes back. What have I missed? Graph showing charging turned off.... then turned on .....then turned off again
  6. Double posted thread on the same subject......same answers... lol /topic/66538-topic/?do=findComment&comment=898245 What I got from the thread I linked he was wanting to disable charging just while plugged into a computer but to still charge when using an external charger. In other words the DNA will recognize a computer and automatically turn off charging... it will not (as far as I know).
  7. I'm thinking it has to do with the battery sled/wiring but you should file a ticket with Evolv and explain what it's doing... They will guide ya from there I think.... https://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add
  8. duh...... brain fade.... gave you the wrong info..... these batteries are in series...... editing my post..... I gave you info to check parallel batteries... sorry... Don't know the pin sequence of your device....
  9. If you mean a setting to only disable charging while connected to the computer..... No...... I know of no electronic device that can do that.... would like to know if there is... If you are ready to mess around with the data cable, you can remove the two power pins in 'device end' of the data cable, as these carry the current to charge your device. Try to find an old or unused data cable and work on it. Hope this helps. http://pinouts.ru/PortableDevices/micro_usb_pinout.shtml
  10. Yep.... As with any electronics a USB can fail. I've never had that occur and have used computer's USB to charge all my devices since 2010. I have a 2 amp wall wart but seldom use it unless I have multiple devices to charge at once. I don't even own an external battery charger as I've mainly used Li-Po batteries since 2010. When I travel I don't take the wall wart but may be a good idea in case the computer USB stops working....
  11. In EScribe, device monitor, diagnostics tab there is the ability to set, turn on/off charging. Your setting is default. You can turn it off after entering Device Monitor and then turn it back on before exiting.
  12. Have you externally charged the batteries to 100% and still getting a 0% reading in EScribe? When hooked up to EScribe and getting 0% is it charging? Also have you checked continuity of the sled pins.
  13. Good deal....... puzzled me too when it would vape but not discharge the one battery. Enjoy....
  14. OK..... If you want you can just vape the device and when the battery meter on the device gets to about 3/4 full or so you can remove the batteries and use a multimeter to check the voltage of each battery. Post your results. Also could it be a faulty charger giving a false reading. Is the battery that shows full always plugged into the same charger in the same slot? Does changing the batteries around in the charger make any difference?
  15. In Device Monitoir what are the pack and the individual battery voltages after you vaped it for a while? Screen shots in Device Monitor would be helpful.
  16. Have you contacted the vendor you purchased it from? Sometimes poor connections at the battery contacts or loose or broken wires to the battery sled can cause this. Most vendors have some kind of warranty and support. Post a screen shot from Device Monitor while firing showing battery levels.
  17. Just so you know the Case Analyzer is a multi-step process and multi- hour process....
  18. Don't consider this a bug but just posting what occurred as it's the first I've seen this and don't recall any posts similar to this either. So I was out and about with a 75. I always lock it before pocketing the device. 5 clicks brought up a scrambled screen never seen before. Thought to myself "this is strange". 5 clicks to unlock and scrambled screen again. DNA75 works and vapes normally and no scrambled screen at all unless I 5 click to lock/unlock. Used it for 5 hours, while out and about. Returned to the house and still 5 click scramble so I went to EScribe with it. It would not connect to EScribe whether locked or unlocked. Still vapes normally with all menu presses working normally except 5 click scramble. Only thought was that the 75 got confused so I pulled the battery and put it back (hard reset). All is well again....... this device is a reference device used during beta testing and has been flawless. I'm thinking the board got confused somehow but will monitor it and update if it does this again.... While I had the battery out I looked around the inside and saw nothing unusual and no liquid anywhere in the device. Ribbon cable placement not an issue either. Just noting this one time event.....

    DNA 250

THX for that.... I love PayPal and free shipping...... off to ebay I go...... 2 for 15 bucks ain't bad....
  20. Good points...... Hundred and ten bucks won't break the bank but just a slight crack in the bank My complaint: I don't need another DNA75 and for years have not "preordered" anything..... till now.... never owned a VS product but they are a solid company IMO so I fudged on my " preorder" stance just this one time.... AND at my age the wife just says " go for it.... ya can't take the money with you unless we put it in the casket...."
  21. Pardon my change of subject but I thought you might like to see this.... http://www.vaporshark.com/switchbox/?redirect_mongo_id=57dc7a14a4d12f1f15000072&utm_source=Springbot&utm_medium=Web&utm_campaign=Email&mc_cid=0e391b9b67&mc_eid=0bd76955b2
