What I meant is those translated fields are system fields/text and the temp protected message being included implies that it will be used and to me that only makes sense as being displayed in the status field. Contrasting that to the 2 colour boards these messages would have be a global whole screen event that you could disable/enable, but the only time that happens in the colour themes is for new/old coil so no 1:1. With saying it was not Mac, not a criticism, you have been a valued and helpful member here for ages, just non Mac users may have an interest, be able to help and it is the board fw and themes we are talking about.

Changing fields of Main Screen
VapingBad replied to iambyrdman's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
Look at what is done it the default theme, it should show you what to change on your one re swapping temp for watts, it is just having a condition on the field, say have "Atomizer -> Temp Sensing Material = False" set the field to watts and set it to temp in the default condition. -
Changing fields of Main Screen
VapingBad replied to iambyrdman's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
Open Escribe without a mod connected, choose the default 75C under Edit New Settings, open theme designer, goto the main screen and select the fields to see how the conditions are set, you should be able to copy and past to your theme, you can open that in another theme designer window. -
How to DISABLE charge when connected to laptop
VapingBad replied to mactavish's topic in Batteries and Charging
In EScribe for Windows it in Device Monitor - Diagnostics - Disable USB Charging. For 75, 75C, 200, 250 & 250C you can also issue put the following python command in a text file and run it the run script box "ECig['USB Current'] = 0.0", there maybe a serial equivalent. -
Changing fields of Main Screen
VapingBad replied to iambyrdman's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
Which board do you have @iambyrdman ? -
Many users found having so many setting over complex, even intimidating, one thing I have noticed over the years on this forum is so many people think that when there is a setting they need to change it for their mod, mostly they don't. So Evolv hid them by default to avoid that, the mod tab should have been filled out by the mod maker and 99% of users don't need to go there if this has been done, but they can if they want. Sort of can't please all of the people all of the time and they only hid it not removed it.

Changing fields of Main Screen
VapingBad replied to iambyrdman's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
For the colour screen: You need to add a condition to the field then when that condition it true display one field and another when false, have a look at the default theme to see how it is done, but do come back and ask if you need help. For the 2 colour screens they swap depending on if you are vaping with temp limiting active and if your profile is set to temperature dominant, I will get the rules wrong if I try and explain from memory at this time on a Saturday night, in the UK), have a quick play vaping with every change and you should find it quite quickly. -
I think if the text is in there it will display in the status field, it just will not take up the whole screen, again not tested just an educated guess. Showing the info message or not does not affect how temp limiting works and not a safety feature like temp limiting is IMO, these are really general 75C issues and not specific to EScribe for Mac.
-
I spoke from memory and think I am correct, though as my footer says I could have been wrong. I strongly disagree with calling it a safety message, it was mealy an info message than most users didn't like and has absolutely zero impact on safety. Every user is free to choose a theme from the gallery and ask the them creator to add the feature if it is missing, but I doubt anybody will. I have not tested that setting and it is just an educated guess that is what it does. If I get time this weekend I try and have a look and I report back.
-
It handles these messages differently, there is no on/off for that, I don't think it is shown and if it is it would use the status field if that is in your theme . You could add a field that was hidden by default and only displays when Atomizer - Temp Protect = True.
-
If it is a temp sensing wire like SS, Ti or Ni the resistance will change when firing, it should only stay stable with non temp sensing wires like Kanthal.

There are some in the datasheet https://downloads.evolvapor.com/dna75color.pdf

battery settings for a dual 18650 dna250
VapingBad replied to mstaleysr's topic in General Discussion
You need to change the display settings, on the main menu Options - User Interface - Manufacture. -
You can change the material to watts, on the mod lock it 5 clicks on fire, then hold all 3 buttons down for about 5 secs and scroll to watts and click fire, or you can do that in Escribe. Or you can adjust the temp to one above max on the mod. Or you can click temperature off in a profile in Escribe, changing the material to watts will do that automatically.

This is the Evolv one for 430 SS. SS 430.csv

Year it's just a puff or two and batteries tend to drop from 4.2 fairly fast and could easily be at 4.18 or 19 if you charged them a day or two before, at first that's what the curve is trying to adjust to: faster drop in capacity vs voltage at both ends with most of the capacity in the middle where it more of a straight line.
-
The battery curve does not effect the charge cut off, how it charges or discharges, any of the battery protection or anything to do with vape quality it is simply a way to make the battery gauge a bit more accurate. I wouldn't worry about it, drop the high point by 0.1 V and it will probably read 100% before you take a puff, but the most accurate gauge in the world always be less than 100% after a puff or three.
-
Probably a poorly assembled mod, where they failed to keep the screen cable away from the fire button and it is getting crushed by the button, you can try putting t bit of plastic between them, but probably that damage is already done and you will need a new screen very soon.
-
Yes, sounds like the Paranormal has thread lock on the 510 there is a thread about how to clean that off, but you would need to be confident about partially taking the mod apart. ETA link

Series for 2 or 3 cells (2S or 3S), you could go series parallel with 4 (2S2P), 6 (3S2P or 2S3P), 8(2S4P), 9(3S3P) etc

A lot of people put the watts high, even at max and adjust the flavour with temp.

Linux EScribe Suite Beta Thread
VapingBad replied to James's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
That is what you would see in Windows if you had Options - User Interface set to Clean. -
I don't know but if I were you would look at the battery sag in Device Monitor to get more of an insight, my guess is that they are sagging to the low cut-off, btw I would set this to 2.75 or 2.85 for cylindrical batteries.

Linux EScribe Suite Beta Thread
VapingBad replied to James's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
I am not using the linux build ATM, but on windows Escribe you need to change Options - User Interface to Advanced or Manufacture to get to the mod settings.
