Early Firmware and EScribe Suite Discussion Thread
retird replied to David Campbell's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
I had the exact same results as Wingsfan installing the newest EScribe/firmware on Win10 64 bit. Norton said the same thing too. Did not need another driver. -
Early Firmware and EScribe Suite Discussion Thread

Yes the auto update works but only when Evolv places an update release as such. I guess what you are getting at is that Evolv hasn't formally released the recommended or the test update to the auto update process yet. -

Go to post #1 and take your pick of updates. I've used them all including the latest one. -

Under "options" in EScribe do you have "Automatically Check For Updates" checked? -

Found it interesting that Device Monitor can run Python Scripts (what the h.ll is that).... lol Peaked my curiosity since I am not a programmer. Found this video tutorial (over 11 hours) geared even for beginners. For those interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uq3w6JJS00 -

Still kicking-the-tires on this early release but just want to say that a lot of work and effort has gone into this one as shown by the list of features shown for this update. Great job guys... -

"warranty service" on SMY SDNA200. contact evolv or SMY?
retird replied to Ohhepicfail's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the info Nick...... I'm a firm believer that ALL China mod makers should have a warranty/repair facility in the USA and in other countries as needed. They can interact with Evolv as needed for board warranty issues. Just my opinion... and my opinion and a few bucks will get a cup of coffee.... -
Won't charge and pulling too much amperage

How abou a few pictures of the internals of the device? Which device do you have or did you build it? -
Question regarding limitations on 2s/3s and dual/triple 18650
retird replied to g33kinsid3's topic in Batteries and Charging
DNA200 with 2-18650 batteries = 133 watt device...safety matters... -
Display uses very, very little current....not even enough to be noticeable for charging time...

Windows PC are everywhere.... surely it's not that big of a challenge to use one, buy a cheap tablet, or use Windows inside of your Mac... tried one of the competition's new devices last week and their software which, by the way, also works only with windows.... their device went quickly to a new home....and out of the box the new features weren't just limited, but the new device features were not even available until the firmware was updated. Many of the new features require the software also. IIRC Evolv said that Mac software wasn't out of the question in the future.

DNA 200 Reuleaux. Escribe Display Fields
retird replied to leanneomgz's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
Have you tried to re-install Reuleaux's setup file again. It is available on their web site: http://www.wismec.com/product/reuleaux-dna200/ -
Switch on balance taps to "turn off"/isolate DNA 200
retird replied to a topic in Installation and Assembly
What would the advantage be to have a DNA200/200 watt mech mod combination? So it uses the same battery and is in the same (LARGER) enclosure. Maybe I'm missing the point? Isn't 200 watts in wattage mode on the DNA200 already available? At any rate you would need to isolate the fire button, input power, and output power to the 510 from the dormant device having no way to back feed current to the dormant one. 20/30 amp DPDT switches are not small components and what I'm thinkin' you would need two of them and the additional wiring. -
That picture helps. You want to see room and last temperature in celsius ON THE DEVICE SCREEN even tho you can already see it now in Device Monitor. Maybe just a matter of adding a few field options in the screen section of EScribe. Example: Room Temperature C Room Temperature F Last Temperature C Last Temperature F

Feature update - Multitasking?
retird replied to Yellowhorse's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
So figuring this out for the next version, I assume, means not in the update that will be coming soon but the next one? Only asking to avoid confusion/ mis-understanding later. THX Nick
I'm using update/version interchangeably. It could be out in the next one, or three versions from now. I have no way of knowing until our developer sits down and sees how much work it will be. I am hoping to try and get us on a "SCRUM" type development gameplan here shortly.
THX...,. sounds like a plan.... -

Feature update - Multitasking?
retird replied to Yellowhorse's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
All the changes just to avoid a couple clicks.... in your example it would require an upload to the device while DM is running.... still don't see a couple clicks to close/open DM as such a big issue IMO...you see the results in real time (near real) either way...IMO -
Feature update - Multitasking?
retird replied to Yellowhorse's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
So, if it is programmed correctly? How much additional programming would be necessary (software and firmware) and how much additional device memory needed? A simple click closes DM... do what ya want in EScribe then another simple click and DM is opened again... What is the advantage to having DM open and running while doing things in EScribe? -
Feature update - Multitasking?
retird replied to Yellowhorse's topic in EScribe, Software and Firmware
You are completely missing the point. You can't do ANYTHING if the device monitor is running. EVERYTHING else is disabled. File, Edit, Internet, Options, Tools, Profiles, Help, Atomizer Analyzer, Copy Profile, create a new wire profile - ALL of them are useless if the device monitor is running. There are plenty of things we could do without 'changing' anything on the device that would require an upload or download to the DNA200 - except.....you can't. THAT, is what the 'problem' is.
As I attempted to explain: when in DM it has control of the device thus in the lower right hand corner there are thing you can do like fire the device, chg temp, set power, run diagnostics, and etc. One click closes it, do your stuff in EScribe and one click opens DM again. FYI I asked the same thing during beta testing of the EScribe software (more than once). I have lots of Windows software whereby you have a screen open to do a task and you cannot access anything else until you complete the screen or close it thus this is not an issue for me but YMMV. Maybe Evolv's software guru could comment if he has time... Have a great day yourself... -

Since the Device Monitor is monitoring in live time it may be that changes can't be made to the device while Device Monitor is open?? At any rate this request has been asked for before so there may be a reason/reasons it is the way it is I'm guessing.....when in DM it has control of the device thus in the lower right hand corner there are thing you can do like fire the device, chg temp, set power, run diagnostics, and etc.
