Can somebody tell me what is this? :) Bug maybe?
retird replied to ZaiKo's topic in General Discussion
Looks fine to me.... and "Temp Protect" on your device is set to flash more than once thus it flashes after the fire button is released in your video.... you can change the number of flashes in EScribe... -
I think the soft cutoff value is for battery safety and an aid to help maintain safe practices while vaping.... remember "battery sag"...

I thought the original question was : Is there any point in having DUAL batteries in a DNA75? That question was answered I thought.. A DNA200 (133) requires series batteries and a DNA 75 can be configured with parallel batteries.... different technology and specifications... Evolv Data sheets in case you are interested: DNA200: http://www.evolvapor.com/datasheet/dna200.pdf DNA 75: http://www.evolvapor.com/datasheet/dna75.pdf -

Custom Mod DNA133 2x 18650 Doesnt Charge via USB Port
retird replied to rsrider's topic in Batteries and Charging
Enough for the "good OLD days"....lol..... loving Windows 10 and IOS and Android... covers all the computers, cell phones and tablets around my "digs"... What has this world come to? My home heat and air thermostat is hooked up to my wireless network??? -
Great comments.... Since you ran Production Utility when setting up this mod I guess you could configure it again. Should there have been a user induced issue (not saying there is/was) but just covers one piece of the pie... then you can see if it balances any differently... Best thoughts I have... troubleshooting blindly is iffy at best... ya know what I mean??? Good luck.. let us know what ya find out...

Custom Mod DNA133 2x 18650 Doesnt Charge via USB Port

Yep.... I'm very, very aged as I learned DOS prior to Windows.... hated DOS.... -
Oh.... do we know if the customer has changed anything? Have you tried Restoring to Default if changes have been made by the customer?

I guess you built the mod for the customer???? Did you use the Production Utility? If you did how did you set up the mod using the Production Utility. What was the Maximum Cell Imbalance maximum voltage variance set at for the test. What did the test show? If you have the production file used to configure the device you can run a test in the utility... At any rate there can be many reasons for what you are seeing. Cold solder joints at the balancing connectors/wires, poor grounds, less than good quality batteries, cell soft cutoff to low, and etc. If the board is charging properly then I doubt that it's the issue especially if it charges to 4.20 volts which it is doing @ 4.21 volts in your info to us...sometimes it takes several charges on a new battery to settle down... If the build is solid and battery is rock solid good ( when charged with an external balancing charger) I guess a RMA would let Evolv look at the board....

I must be way past OLD as I remember Windows which was replaced by Windows 2 in 1987.....lol.... -
No doubt that Evolv is working on a lot of things and have a lot of "irons in the fire" and they probably have to prioritize their "To-Do list"..... and the FDA deadlines are effecting all e-cig folks right now I think...

Morning CeeBeeDee...... I think the answers you seek must come from Evolv. I only asked for info to see if possibly there could be a few user "tweaks" that may be made to improve your vape experience with SS wire using the DNA200. Without the info I really can't offer any thoughts on "tweaks" to try. I really was interested in giving it a shot tho... What I have seen over the years is that Evolv was/is the technology leader and give us the "latest and greatest" stuff. I also know that when they bring something new they are already working on a few more new things. Their R&D is very fluid. I did look back for a statement from Evolv about your concern and found this (in part)..... *** 2016-02-12 EScribe 1.0.39 *** https://www.dimensionengineering.com/software/SetupES_2016-02-12.exe (52MB standalone installer) This version features: (1) a new Materials tab where you can store and transfer material settings onto and from the DNA, [We've included our Ni200, and Steam Engine's SS316 and Ti1. These will be upgraded in the future, if better data becomes available, and others added if others become common.] My best thought in addressing any future update releases would be that you could fill out a "Contact Us" form and ask that your questions be given to James and let him respond back to you. He may not see your post here. Link: http://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add I'm kinda like you and always want the "latest and greatest" so maybe a new DNA75 is in your future. Then you can compare the experience with SS wire. Vaping is ever evolving so it's good that new often brings improvements that "may or may not" be able to be retro fitted to legacy technology. Just my thoughts. I know my comments don't meet your concerns but....... at the very least SS wire is probably the most "touchy" wire that folks try to use. The fact that the DNA75 seems to smooth it out a bit shows me that Evolv is going in the right direction in responding to the ever changing wire landscape. Have a great day

Mind if I ask a few questions.... 1. What TCR are you using with the DNA200 and which one for the DNA75? 2. What type coil build and cold resistance? 3. What Temp, wattage, preheat, punch and etc settings for the DNA200 and DNA75? 4. Are the Manufacturers Settings correct for both mods? The DNA200 and 75 utilize different regulator technology and have many specification things that are not the same with each board even tho the operation of each is almost the same. May have a few comments after getting a bit of info from you.... Getting late so will check back tomorrow.... have a great evening...

I thought Apple had to approve the software tho....??

I thought mamu's face plates were set up to use the on-board switches? DNA's have a one year warranty.... and very good on-board switches... I've never had one go out...

Your picture shows 0.817 ohm's without atty ... is that the normal reading of your atty when attached?

Tuglyfe DNA200 Acting Really Strange Hot USB Port
retird replied to Low.ohms's topic in General Discussion
OK... from your first post: I fixed that with the internal resistance of the mod in escribe... I have it set to .12 and that gives me a perfect reading however that seems really high and now whenever I press the fire button I can feel the bottom corner of the mod heating up right where the micro USB port is, like it gets hot but cools down rather quickly. How did you arrive at a resistance setting of 0.12? Did you use an atty "tool" to measure internal resistance? Most resistances I see and use are around the 0.004 to 0.006 range... You might consider a ground wire from the board to the 510 also... -

If you are not having any issue with the screen then the ribbon is probably OK but it should not touch the fire button as it can cause issues with the screen etc. The stripped screw... is it a screw holding the board? -

retird replied to Low.ohms's topic in General Discussion
You might loosen and re-tighten the screws holding the board. The ground travels thru the screw. Also the ground gets to the 510 thru the screws holding the two enclosure cases together. Heating of any screw may indicate poor contact thus poor ground... -

Looks like they are using a "case ground build" where the enclosure is the ground path and the 510 gets it's ground from contact with the metal case enclosure... -
Bill, I think the reason Evolv discussed the cost of a battery (if needed) was to inform the person that there would be a charge if the battery was bad... that's all... I got the same information given to me when doing an RMA and my battery was still good but over 8 months old so I sent the 20 bucks with my RMA and told them to replace it anyway....Evolv only warned Mordeth that there would be a 20 buck charge to replace a bad battery IF NEEDED as the battery is not covered by the one year warranty. As Mordeth stated: " warned me that if I needed a new battery that the battery would cost $20. "

You might just fill out a "Contact US" with Evolv and select Technical Support. Describe what you are wanting and ask that the request be given to James. He is the "guru" of the firmware.... I've not found any other Python Scripts but Good Luck... http://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add
