Screen going crazy

My screen one day began dimming itself any time the fire button was touched, even if it wasn't touched hard enough to fire. The next week, it started doing it on it's own until eventually it did it all the time. I took the board out to check the ribbon for a pinch, and there wasn't one. I checked the clamp for any bad connections, and there weren't any. Then, after having moved the screen, it began randomly displaying atomizer preset screens, and displaying two screens at the same time (one display on the top half of the screen, one on the bottom) I have no clue what to try next. Is the board bad? Weird screen connection? Help!

At first I was thinking cable pinch, but you checked that.  A board error is the only thing I can think of, though the error you describe is one I have not seen.

You may not have pinched the ribbon cable with the fire button.
But you prob have a short where the ribbon cable connects to the screen.
This is a very fragile connection at the transition from ribbon cable to screen glass.
The factory adds a type of epoxy they call it. I call it more of a silicone.
Where the cable meets the screen. I have also noticed the factory has put a piece of black tape
on the opposite side from the epoxy. The epoxy is on the wrong side and the tape is too.
What I do is remove the piece of tape carefully and use some REAL epoxy to replace the tape.
This helps to stiffen up the connection.
My suggestion to you is replace the screen and use the epoxy where suggested.

There is a significant shortage of them at the moment, so you are out of luck for a while.  Some folks are working on sourcing an alternative, so stay tuned.

Open a ticket with Evolv. I recently got two direct from them after experiencing the exact same problem.

Having the same exact problem with my lavabox. Screen goes crazy whenever fire button is pressed and now its totally out! I hope someone can help us out resolving this.

does anyone know if the lavabox has the same problem as the reuleaux and early hana v200's ? screen ribbon getting caught under the fire button damaging the screen etc.?

I would guess that the screen cable has got between the button actuator and the switch and shorting/breaking some of the data lines in the cable.

it looked like the fire button was hitting the ribbon. i just seen this thread and was hoping it wasn't a board. because i got it second hand for a decent deal because he said it might be the board. so i press the fire button and the screen goes off and now it completly died

if someone could enlighten me on if i should buy a board or screen. that would be awesome because i don't know what i should do lol. i press the fire button and the screen would shut off and now the screen doesn't turn on at all

My guess is that it's the screen.... hook it up to EScribe and see if everything else still functions.... I assume it still vapes...

no it does not still vape. but what do i do in escribe to see if it's just the screen ? i'm new to the dna200 board since i just got this lavabox

It's probably more than the screen if it won't vape...

i have no clue... it vaped okay before the screen died and when i touched the fire button it would fire until the screen shut off and then the screen completely died

i mean you barely had to touch the fire button for the screen to shut off too. and then the screen just stopped working completly. i contacted evolv 3 days ago and still no answer from them either

What did you say the name of the mod was, some where renound for a robbon pinch, and ribbon loop rubbing on fire button, think one was the hcig.

It sounds like there was a fault with the screen and now the fuse has blown. It may have just been codged up with juice. does escribe recognise it connected? Can you get it open and visualy inspect the fuse and the rest of its inards.

Yes it connects with escribe and everyone looks good on the inside fuse dont look bad

Haha so I opened it all up unscrewed the board and boom I can see everything... Guess maybe just a bad screen
