  1. I think they connected B- at another spot, the small diameter black wire seems to be for just balance. Gee, if they are 18 gauge already, well I ordered some 18 gauge silicone wire this morning.
  2. I may someday correct these wires but at the wattage I use they are no problem, but for some folks they probably will be.
  3. Do you have a volt meter? Check this thread.... #17 /topic/67772-topic/?do=findComment&comment=910038
  4. I just did the same "test" with some LG HE4's, just about identical so I'm ruling out the batteries as the culprit. "vernier"? is that a caliper? I have a caliper, but those aren't my pictures. Maybe the wires will "pop" before the fuse...LOL
  5. How about posting a live view shot firing something 25 amps? Here's mine at just under 26 amps using 3 Mxjo 3000's. The pack was 12.5 volts on the start.
  6. Here's a link to some more pictures of the wires: http://smg.photobucket.com/user/djs61/media/The%20Reuleaux/Wismec%20Reuleaux%2015.jpg.html I have some shots of live view showing battery sag at 50 and 100 watts, they are with using Mxjo 3000 mah 18650's. When I receive my LG's on Monday I'll post live views with both batteries.
  7. It just doesn't look like 16 gauge to me.
  8. That would be 1600 mah, EScribe will calculate the watt hours for you. 17.76 watt hours. (Providing the capacity of the battery is not over stated as others are doing)
  9. I just got my original (unbalanced) Vapecige battery back from my friend that tried to balance it with his BA6 RC charger with no luck. He did balance it though using the same method I used. So far my (Turnigy) battery in the Vapecige box is staying balanced.
  10. I did do something on that order but just the usb and below, not going to say what chemical though. I did clean the 4 balance connector joints the first time with a q tip and alcohol but that must not have worked. OK here's what I cleaned it with, twice, then duster spray. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NO-CLEAN-LIQUID-FLUX-FOR-PS3-YLOD-XBOX-360-RROD-REPAIR-/130498300452 Something was draining #3 I guess I'd better mention that the area that I was concerned about it conducting is between pin #3 and pin #2 on the board underneath the white plastic balance connector.
  11. Not leaking to ground ect. I measured between pin #3 on the board and ground next to pin #1 and pin #3 to battery negative lead on the board. The battery had all leads disconnected.
  12. I used my meter to check to see if I could detect some type of connection from # 3 pin in the balance plug on the board when I had the battery disconnected, I found it totally open.
  13. I can't figure why it took me so long to think of doing it that way...DUH
  14. Almost, hopefully it will correct from here.
  15. Might not be recommended but here's how I got my # 3 cell up to the same voltage as 1 and 2. Then finishing up with the on board charger. I didn't have much use for the juice in that bottle anyway.
  16. I too have this same problem, it started when I got juice on the balance connector. It's been cleaned off but did it again on the new battery that I installed. It appears that cell 3 drains while sitting unused and not on charger. My friend is balancing the first battery now so I'll see if the next cleaning job did anything.
  17. So I gave my first "bad" battery to my friend to balance it with a real RC charger, when I get that back I'll swap out the 2nd battery and do the same with it. I'm pretty sure the batteries are OK.
  18. Does the battery icon have the charge symbol when it's balancing, does it show any amperage? How long does it take? Should I keep it on charge for a couple of days? It was similar to this so I changed the battery. I tried to balance this battery and the original battery with the cheap charger that comes with the Hotcig mod, all it does is overcharge the "good" cells. It stops charging when 1 and 2 reach 4.20 volts, or I think it does.
  19. So after installing the new battery all was well.....at first anyway. After leaving the mod sit unused for a couple of days cell #3 is at 3.90 volts while 1 & 2 are at 4.20 volts (after charging). I'm really not sure but I'd guess that the board is draining down #3 when not in use. I see quite a few posts with a similar problem. Anyone got some ideas?
  20. They must be getting ready to cut them loose.....hoping anyway
  21. Too soon for me to know but 1300mah is 1300 mah, it should probably stay healthy much longer than the crappy Lion Power that they used. The Turnigy I used has a lesser C rating than the Lion Power Lion and lighter gauge wires, but it seems just fine though.
  22. I just finished putting the above Turnigy 1300 mah Lipo in my Vapecige box. I used a Deans connector but considered just cutting the plugs off and soldering the wires together. I did shorten the two big wires on the battery as there is very little space. If I were to do it over I think I would have just soldered the wire together where the plugs are, I wanted to avoid soldering on the board if possible. The wires from the battery are exiting the battery on the opposite side of the case from the board. It was successful, charging now.
