  1. Right after I got my first DNA200 mod (Opus) I screwed in my Magma clone with it's extra long 510 and pushed the 510 insulator down a mm or so. I simply screwed it back in from the inside. To eliminate it happening again I placed an o-ring on the threaded part of the Magma's 510 as a "stop". When I feel the o-ring compressing I stop tightening.
  2. This might be worth a try http://blogs.vmware.com/kb/2010/02/how-to-boot-into-windows-safe-mode-in-your-vm.html
  3. The board has a 23 amp max input and after stepping it down has a 50 amp output (55 amp pulse) So there is nothing to gain by setting it higher. It's fused for 25 amp input I believe.
  4. Just thinking, perhaps it was a needed re-boot causing to hit harder. Just guessing here as I noticed no change in that area.
  5. After reading your post I wound my first ss 430 coil. Tried it the way it was and a bit springy so I torched it and it wound just like Kanthal. I didn't mount it as yet. I'm late to try SS, this arrived from a friend so I'm not sure the vendor. It is 28 gauge also.
  6. You are uploading the changed settings to the device after setting them, right?
  7. In EScribe under the "Mod" tab, maufacturers settings. If you don't know what to set it to then set it to zero.
  8. I reverted back to the earlier firmware and uninstalled the test EScribe and reinstalled the recommended EScribe. What I got upon installation was the "Found new hardware wizard" (XP) which I canceled this time, It installed and worked just fine. It was for USB serial port btw.
  9. 7 & 10 64, oh and XP 32 I'm not sure which one(s) asked to find a driver
  10. When I installed the "test" EScribe Windows had to locate another (extra) driver.
  11. I have never done it so I can't say, maybe someone will chime in on the subject. Edit: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/hotcig-dna200.698409/page-22#post-16708334
  12. If it were me I would go ahead and do the USB recovery charge just to see where the device stands. There were quite a few early Hotcig DX200's arriving with voltages similar to yours. The battery probably has some scars and needs watched during charging but should come back.
  13. Certain silicone lack acceptable solvents, there is info here in the forum about what can be used.
  14. I used liquid "no clean" flux for BGA and canned duster spray to clean mine, alcohol may work too. I just applied some blew it off and repeated once more, total success on mine. (just under the plastic piece) It will take next to for ever to balance it with the built-in charger.
  15. My thoughts on this is it reminds me of a situation I had with my VTbox200. I had juice leak into the box which I promptly cleaned up. What I didn't realize was juice got between the board and the balance connector that sits on the board causing one cell to slowly drain while just sitting there. I replaced the battery and had the same problem after a while till I discovered it. I couldn't locate my post on it but here is how I balanced the pack after I got the juice off the board. /topic/67772-topic/?do=findComment&comment=910038
  16. /topic/66731-topic/ 2015-10-21 EScribe 2015-09-30 Firmware (non-beta)
  17. I figured I better jump on the wagon before I'm too far back in the dust to even see it. Now to see if the old dog can learn new tricks. I was going to wait a bit before trying this one but well...what to heck...
  18. I just did some measuring of the case near the 510. The top of the case is 2 mm thick, the recess is 1 mm deep, that only leaves 1 mm if those protrusions in the well and the rails on the inside where the 510 slides into place are removed. I was just inside mine a couple of days ago concerned with the 510' insulator. I suspect those rails that the 510 fits into are supported at the case above the fire button, I paid no attention to that when I was inside. Then is the battery cradle going to clear? While quit possible to do it looks challenging. I would like to change mine too but will wait till it's necessary I guess.
  19. Fatdaddy has 16 gauge only http://www.fatdaddyvapes.com/shop.html
  20. That's the newest EScribe, and the newest firmware is 9-30
  21. The Opus is exceptionally pocket friendly when Murphy's Law comes into play. More times than I wish to admit I forget to lock it and with the way the fire button is located it pretty much isn't going to fire unintentionally. I'm nearing 7 months with a black one, so far no problems other than I pushed the 510's insulator in some but I fixed that. Totally my fault there.
  22. I guess your talking about a pin in the balance plug that's on the board. Is it getting bent inserting the battery at an angle perhaps?
