  1. This threads a good read for those unfamiliar with it. The subject that your talking about seems to begin around here: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/tc-beyond-ni200-nickel-purity-dicodes-ti-ss-resistherm-nife30-coefficient-of-resistance.676506/page-2#post-15852083
  2. Most interesting, I'm now running it. (on a 200)
  3. Not to long ago a friend sent me a sample of 28 gauge SS 430. It has a decent resistance change when heated compared to 316/317. Easy to wrap also. Here's a live view of my Serpent firing a coil made of 4 strands of SS 430, I'm still experimenting with it but I think this is the wire I'll be using from now on.
  4. Well if you get energetic enough maybe switch screens between the two mods.
  5. Does the mod fire OK when with USB cable connected?
  6. You might try comparing/changing some of the screen settings, just grabbing at straws here though. I'm a light sleeper myself, comes from working night shift for 20 years.
  7. If using a non temp wire like Kanthal it will automatically go into power mode. If you want to use a temp wire in power mode there are a couple of choices, turn temp off on desired profile in EScribe and upload to device or scroll through the temp settings on the device till you get to "OFF" and select with fire button.
  8. Unless you hit the "restore defaults" button the factory settings should have stayed as is. The battery appears to be the same as the Hotcig DX200 (Fullymax 900) so you can probably use the settings for that. It's 10 Wh.
  9. I am using the latest beta EScribe and firmware, *** 2016-02-29 EScribe 1.0.42 **, it will let me enter .00092. But I have no 316 wire so I can't try it out. It appears to me that the 316 in EScribe is already using that value. I must admit that I'm some what confused as I come up with .00088 when using Steamengine. Everything seems to indicate that .00092 is the correct value, I'm not sure how I came up with .00088....LOL
  10. Here: http://evolvapor.forumchitchat.com/post/early-firmware-7508618?pid=1291935653
  11. I "nic'd" this picture from one of VapingBad's posts, check to see if those two big square inductors are still firmly attached. It's easy enough to check 'em.
  12. I'm not too sure then. There are 3 spring loaded negative contacts, each with a spring. The only other spring used I believe is inside the 510. Perhaps one of the magnets "acquired" it by accident.
  13. The spring is part of the battery sled, inside of one of the negative battery contacts.
  14. While I think an RMA is the best way to go I was still hoping to see the voltage readings taken off the pads where the balance connector connects to the DNA200 board. Just curious if it's a problem with the DNA board or the daughter board.
  15. I'm pretty sure we will see some more (RX 200's) posts in the future with the same problem.
  16. I'm not sure of coarse but I believe the 75 has most but not all of the features of the 200, so less. It does however have the ability to make the fire button light up various selected colors when firing, as long as that can be turned off I'm good with it.
  17. Lock and sleep is all there is. You could pull the batteries out.
  18. I do mainly contact coils, and dry burn it. Perhaps I shouldn't but I do. I used it all night at work, doing well.
  19. So I went ahead and made a couple of Zivipf Nife 30 coils, keep in mind that they are 70% nickel so that yields a fairly low resistance. Also the TCR is high so temp accuracy is easy for the board. My coils are 8.5 wraps, 2 mm id, 26 gauge wire, x2, that come out to 0.6? which is a bit lower than I prefer but still doable. I really see no real advantage using it over Nife48/52 but it is working well.
  20. Just some things to take into consideration. Because of it's low TCR any added resistance getting involved due to incorrect mod resistance setting, wonky 510 connection, wire at post, ect will give you all kinds of potential grief.
  21. Assuming nothing has been changed as far as your battery settings I would try a hard reboot.
  22. Well Zivipf has Nife 30 which is 70% nickel. The listed TCR is 520. Note Zivipf calls their Nife52 48. Here is Kanthal's data sheet for Nife70, note the composition. Steamengine lists Nifethal70 (alloy 120) TCR @525 I assume that Zivipf's Nife30 is Nifethal 120, I have it, perhaps I'll give it a try tonight and report back. I'm a big fan of Dicodes nife 30 btw which is 30% nickel (I think) Interesting that you posted about it as it was already on my mind.
