  1. Yep, it is great that Nick responded. Many times we can and do post e-mail information after we receive it to help the community. Please post a picture of your completed device as we like to see and share what others have designed. Modding may take on a whole new meaning after August 8 IMO.
  2. Evolv has great customer support. EDITED OUT THE REST since Nick posted information for ya....below....
  3. Go to Device Monitor and look in the lower right corner to see what firmware version is installed already. The firmware files in the "drop down" may already be installed...
  4. Must be a VaporShark specific issue as none of my many DNA200's drain the battery even after weeks of non-use.
  5. Golly gee......... why not???? THX also for your help sorting out the Notch coil.....
  6. OK..... the DNA75 is the bomb for the notch SS316 coil.... smoothed right out compared to the DNA200..... maybe a firmware update is in the future for the DNA200 but I'm pleased to use the DNA75 with this notch coil.... THX @ChuckyButt200 and @BillW50 for working thru this issue to a happy conclusion....
  7. Yep, all my nickel coils are spot on too.... when I cut the wattage down to 15 watts: And at 10 watts:
  8. The Notch coil has a lot of mass (surface area) .... strange animal in temp mode.... I've tried many different temp, wattage, and preheat settings and when the vape doesn't reach set temp it is pretty smooth but a setting that reaches temp setting gives a very different and less smooth graph after it gets to temp... I contacted Wismec last week but no response yet.... THX for your interest.... will continue to play with this animal....
  9. Nope I've not used SS wire as I like simple, fiddle free vaping and use pre-made coils only. Maybe some who use SS can post a screen shot of Device Monitor for comparison. Does the graph I posted resemble SS built coils as far as the temp regulation pattern ? It is a good vape...
  10. I've been testing some Wismec SS Notch coils using the DNA200 and 75. They are pretty straight forward in Power mode and perform as expected. In Temp mode... well that's another thing... Here is a bit about the Notch Coil: Replacement NotchCoil - Pack of 5 for Wismec Theorem or Rebuildable Atomizer The Stainless Steel 316 NotchCoil is the latest technology from Wismec which may be used in both wattage and stainless steel temperature control mode. Ready to be installed in your favorite RBA/RTA! The NotchCoil is the same one found in the Theorem Atomizer, designed by JayBo Designs and inspired by "SMM" Features and Specs: Ready to be installed in your favorite RBA/RTAStainless steel one-piece designProvides great flavor and vapor similar to a Clapton wire buildCan be used in Wattage (Power) or Stainless Steel temperature control modeConsistent evenly heated surface areaPerfect for low wattage buildsIncludes organic cottonInner diameter 4.8mm0.23ohmNon-resistance +/- LeadsVery fast ramp up timeEasily rewickedPack of 5 - Wismec NotchCoil with Cotton In Temp mode the coil performs as shown in this screen shot: I'm wondering why the temp is not more smooth and the temp is fluctuating so much? (SS316 material setting used) Could it be that a "notch coil" specific TCR is needed. They heat very quickly and cool quickly thus that could account for the performance as shown in the graph. Thoughts or experience from others welcome....
  11. hum....... Evolv cares........ You should be able to easily find a Windows machine to tweak your DNA.... or you can do what many other mac users do.... DNA 200 is fully developed and firmware updates are given when Evolv determines they are needed.... My question to you: Why do you feel a firmware update is needed at this point and what issues should it resolve? I ask because all of my DNA200's and 75's are working just fine.
  12. How old is the Vapor Shark and is it still in warranty? Could be just a bad battery or many other things.
  13. Essayez d'effectuer de récupération USB en charge sur le moniteur de périphériques. Cliquez sur Diagnostics, Avancé, effectuer de récupération USB en charge. ( Try to Perform USB Recovery Charging in the Device Monitor. Click on Diagnostics, Advanced, Perform USB Recovery Charging. )
  14. en usb sa ne charge pas Translated: usb does not load its Ne comprends toujours pas ce que vous dites. ((in English... Still do not understand what you are saying.)
  15. Dites votre question en français et nous pouvons traduire . Peut-être que nous pouvons mieux comprendre. (IN English.... Say your issue in French and we can translate. Maybe we can understand better.)
  16. VaporShark is very reasonable on their repair charges even if the board needs changing ..... I've seen where your issue may be liquid on the board or switch, the fire switch itself, the onboard switch, or even a loose connection... you may be out of warranty by VS but the board is warrantied for one year.... or if you are comfortable working on the VS you could diagnose and repair yourself without messing something else up ....
  17. I don't have the specs on the Evolv 510 but you can probably contact the link I gave you.... he should know as he builds them into his devices....
  18. The fdv 510's are pretty good and I've used them over the years but the Evolv 510 IMO is the best I've ever used... Here is a link to an Evolv 510 so you can review it...has optional mounting hardware if you don't want to thread your enclosure... http://www.protovapor.com/product/evolv-510-connector/
  19. I'm just pondering the graph results as opposed to the preheat being shown in the graph..... no doubt the preheat has to raise the coil temp during preheat. Gonna play with temp set above and below 482F and see how it effects the graph results. But that's for tomorrow as it's late here.....
  20. dwcraig1... thx for the graph.... surely the preheat is effecting the coil temp even tho the graph is not showing a temp rise during preheat.... and ohm's reading in the graph is showing cold ohms? Wonder if having the temp set to 450F is effecting the vape as it is within the "flat part" of the "curve" and the 0.1 rise starts at 482F in the "curve".... Gonna have to play with it a bit..... THX again dwcraig1....
  21. Anybody done this with a Clapton Kanthal coil? dwcraig1..... can you add Temperature to the graph so we can see what the temp is doing relative to the Temperature Set of 550F? Gonna try this with Clapton set @ 425F and 27 watts to see how it deals with lower temp and wattage....
  22. How about posting a picture of the inside of your device.... can you position the connectors differently? This one may fit if you move the connectors? http://www.protovapor.com/product/fullymax-11-1v-3s-900mah-30c-lithium-polymer-battery-pack/
  23. Are you having an issue with your DNA200? Try contacting Evolv using the "Contact " page : http://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add
