  1. and........since you are using a premade clapton coil you might make sure it is spaced.... (no coil wrap touching another coil wrap).....are you using a single coil?
  2. Escribe Software Version is here: (Help>About EScribe)
  3. WITH A NEW DEVICE YOU SHOULD MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF YOUR .ECIG FILE BEFORE MAKING CHANGES.... JUST MY OPINION... VS has setup those custom profiles on the device side for SSV material. You notice there is no SSV wire shown in the Available Materials list. VS does a great job configuring it's Switchbox but the SSV default profiles on the device is not something you will commonly see on other DNA's. In the Material tab: You might try moving the profile which is on the Device side of Material back to the Available Material side. Then go to the General Tab, select that profile number for the one you moved and make your changes and upload.
  4. Thanks for the info and yes the build at that wattage isn't a good fit for the 133 or 167 but well fitted for a 200/250...... Having the calculated voltage on the display won't solve that. Do you have any builds that you use on the 133 in TP, or in Wattage mode, that give you a great vape?
  5. @kbriggs....... just wondering what coil build you are using that runs so close to the max output voltage and at what wattage setting....
  6. The DNA's as you know were built with much safety features and Temp Protection was the main reason for the DNA's of today (starting with the DNA40 I think). When I use a coil in wattage mode I know ahead of time what the wattage I want is, the ohm's of the coil, and the voltage required, and if the device is capable of delivering it... from our conversation it seems that you know what voltage is required for the coils you use also... Your suggestion may bring about some discussion and Evolv has done a lot of things to update the boards, the firmware, the software, and etc. since a lot of folks over time have wanted something more.... Thru Evolv's market leading patented technology and their R&D that's how we got to where we are today and the 133 and 167 came about as a result of folks requesting them...so if there are a lot of folks requesting what you want it might come about too.... that's Evolv's call to make....and they are ALWAYS working on new and better stuff.... so it is only going to get even better....
  7. They make Ohm's Calculator apps for cell phones.... Android and iOS.... and they are free.... Target voltage you are wanting would only be a calculation and not exactly accurate I'm thinkin'.... The DNA isn't like any other chip.... never has been.....thank goodness....
  8. Oh, you are only referring to wattage mode...... OK..... since in wattage mode I think you can just fire the mod while not vaping and see the voltage. Wicking, air flow, fluctuation of coil ohm's and etc. don't matter as it's going to fire the wattage you have set and show the related voltage using adequately charged batteries... So your suggestion is to add an Ohm's calculator into the firmware only for wattage mode....
  9. I put the Therion DNA 166 file into a zip file... try to download it.... Since you just joined us it may take a while before you have download access as it takes a while for the system to update.... Therion166.zip
  10. While vaping you can see the voltage in EScribe (note it changes while vaping). As you know, while you vape, the voltage, wattage, and ohm's of the coil normally varies for many reasons. The DNA in TP mode does this to give you the best vape at the temp setting you want. Even if your request was added, the voltage reading would only be as you said, a calculated number, and would not be accurate. As an example some folks set their wattage to maximum (say 250 watts) and let the device adjust to reach the requested temperature (say it needed only 50 watts). So they never need the max wattage thus the voltage calculation would be useless.
  11. As @ChunkyButt200 mentioned: "The board was designed to be used with in a 3S config, starting with the DNA 200. the only reason we have the 133 and 167 option is because a couple years ago people asked for it here in this forum. people were fully aware of the output voltage limitation when in 2S mode. their workaround........build lower ohm coils." And he mentioned: "Obviously the DNA 133 or 167 is not for you. You would be better off with a 3S version of the DNA 200\250 or series mechanical." I would only add that the 133 and 167 could work for you if you should decide to build a coil that works within the parameters of the device. All my coils work just great within the parameters of my two 200's and three 75's....... I hope you get it sorted out to your liking....
  12. Would an adapter work for you.... such as this... https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-NooQee-Connector-Connect-Smartphone/dp/B01K496YUQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1488592520&sr=8-2&keywords=usb+c+female+to+micro+usb+male
  13. I don't know which device you have, what wattage you are trying to vape at, and etc. So this is just a quick thought.... In escribe under the mod tab under electrical you can see what the kanthal max power limit set to.....it may need to be adjusted depending on which device you have, the wattage maximum it can achieve, your coil build and wattage requirements, and other things., Start there.... my best thought without more info from you....
  14. hum.... wondering if it could be a problem with the display, ribbon cable, or ribbon connection at the board.... you might start a ticket with Evolv and explain what is going on and let them guide you.... https://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add&category=1
  15. You might copy the .ecig file from the good VT75 to your computer and then upload it to the other VT75 and see if that helps... or if you have a copy of the .ecig file of the offending device just upload it again...
  16. Here is a video.....audio not in English but you can see that a bigger battery is not an option.... See inside the device starting at 3 minutes and 35 seconds into the video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j86H0yc5IfE
  17. So when you changed the batteries had you been vaping and just changed batteries between vapes?
  18. hum..... 222c (431F) for a .27 ohm coil.... I use pre-made Notch coils (SS) that are 0.23 ohm and I get a great vape at 420 F so what you are getting at 222c sounds reasonable. A proper setting of the thermals of the device makes the temp setting more accurate... that's why I mentioned Case Analyzer....
  19. I've been following this thread and was just looking at your last screenshots the "Thermal Settings" are default Evolv board settings. You might consider running the Case Analyzer as it seems the device thermal settings were not tailored to the device but the default settings were left unchanged. @giz_60, I think, posted this .ecig file for the Therion 166 in another thread.. it shows the Evolv default thermals also.... Therion166.ecig
  20. Probably "death due to trauma"...... but may (99% probability) or may not be the board..... You might open a ticket with Evolv and explain what happened and they will respond appropriately. https://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add&category=1
  21. First contact the vendor since you just received it. Second contact Lost Vape Warranty/Repair at: http://www.lostvaperepaircenter.com/
  22. EScribe Calibration Guide for DNA 200, 133, 75, or 60 (YouTube video) Not from Evolv.. May be helpful if your device wasn't configured by the mod maker.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tVT9DnL4FY
  23. All I can say from my experience is that "tweaking" the temp, watts, preheat, punch, and duration for the best vape is all configurable. Configure it to the levels you require. Battery sag also plays a more pronounced effect into the soup with a single battery device. Hang in there and you will get it like you want it....
