  1. Ohhh iAlexander you are a star !! Yep, cleaned the threadlock from the threads and all is good in the world !! + 1 for iAlexander - 1 for Lost Vape for being numpties for putting a non conductive material between possibly the most important part ! Many thanks Damian
  2. Hi All, Just bought a Paranormal 166 (my Therion 166 just died battery terminal fell to bits) But it's just not working at all properly in temp mode (all I use) so .. Got it out of the box, loaded the same titanium profile I use on the Therion, added the same batteries (Samsung 30Q's) and replicated the settings from the Therion (so effectively it should be almost exactly the same) - oh yeah using the exact same attys. But it just won't play ! ... it seemed to be pulsing ... really badly, 1 second on one off. Tried a few "Reset to default" and Re-applying the SP , it actually bricked last night after a reload, it would only show the Evolve 250 text then turn off, luckily I discovered that if I plugged it back into the PC, switched it on, it "booted up" so was able to do another SP reload, which brought it back to life ! YAY. This morning I ran the Case Analyser so it now also has the correct settings in there, but it still will not vape correctly. here are some screen shots of most of the relevant info (I think) Here is what happens when trying to vape it. A couple of oddities are that A) the Paranormal is not reading the resistance of my tank\coil correctly, the cold resistance is always .14 (as read from my spare IPv4 and my tester) but the Paranormal is reading it at .19 to .20 B) the temp setting is way off, i'd normally be vaping the Therion at 240c, on the Paranormal I have to drop the temp down to 115 - 130c else it dry burns !! C) the "Temp Protect" message never appears on the screen. I've spoken to the shop I bought it from (via email) and got the standard sort of reply back "it's probably something you have set wrong" I tried to explain the above but the have not replied since ! Could there be something in the settings that is causing this ? .. I don't personally think so, i've checked\changed everything possible. Or is this more likely a faulty device ? Any help appreciated. Cheers Damian
  3. Ah OK thanks ChunkyButt200, that confirms what I sort of thought was going on. Maybe I'll try locking the res to see if that help when swapping atty's. Cheers chap.
  4. Hello all, Does the refinement lock in as it were to the particular profile that's being used ? As what I've just asked above may not make sense, here's what I'm getting at: Profile 3 is called SS316L v4 and uses material SS316V4 Profile 4 is called SS316L DB and uses material SS316DB I use my Snapdragon with profile SS316L v4 when at home, and in the morning I pop on my Merlin and switch profile to SS316L DB. Would the refinement for each atomizer be remembered the next time I install it ? Or does it re-set when a different atty is installed ? I'm still having issues with temp control not working (keeps going to OFF) and am wondering if this is because it's not refining correctly, or can't because of me switching out attys. Last night I switched back to the Merlin, and left the Therion on over night(which I don't normally do) and all today it's been behaving correctly. Although now I've got home it seems to have changed, but I have been outside all afternoon at about 9c and my house is at about 20c. So another question is, would it be better to just have one SS316L profile to use on both atty's that use essentially the same wire (ones single and ones dual coil, but same wire) Or if I used two profiles that used the same material, would they refine individually, and keep the refinement even when swapping atty's ??? Sorry hopefully I made some sense somewhere in there Cheers.
  5. Oh well ... asking too much Thanks ChunkyButt200
  6. Hello All, Only had my Therion 166 for a few weeks now, but after seeing some of the posts in "Themes and Custom Screens" I thought that I HAD to pimp my rig ! So a big thank you to : @Mikla for the really useful utility. @Micha for the GOODTIMESVT200_V2 theme - love it ! @Koofteh for the Therion start screen. @SteveAdams86 for the Goblin Mini screen. @lexalove for the Snapdragon screen (very cool !) Here is my attempt for the Augvape Merlin Mini: BTW, and I'm sorry if I'm telling you all something you already know ! But I found a really useful website that allows you to copy a picture into it, and it finds the best match for the font. https://www.fontsquirrel.com/matcherator You then still have to find the font (and try to avoid having to pay for it !!) but it was very useful to get a close match to the Augvape font. Anyway .. to my question: Can the main (home) screen be modified ? This: The reason is that unlike what is shown from the capture, the battery icon and the M of the Merl profile name sort of merge together so that the outer white line of the battery is not there. Also I find it harder to see because the battery and info text are very close to each other. It would be nice to be able to move the text to the right by a few pixels, and also is it possible to increase the characters allowed for the profile name so that it could display "Merlin" ? There is a good amount of space between the info text and the temp display, and I just think it would look nicer (and be easier to see) if the info stuff was more centralised. Something like this: Or am I asking \ expecting a bit much of the tweaking capabilities in EScribe ?? Thanks all Damian
  7. Hi SteveF, I've not seen any mention regarding the Snapdragon and TC, but there were a lot of people having issues with the v1 as it had a reverse threaded base that was a PITA, mines the v1.5 which has a redesigned base with 2 screws holding it together. But, I've been doing my testing on my Merlin mini as it's way easier to recoil, and has two decks, one for single coils and one for dual. Yeah I also have not been using the pre-heat feature, have found that it didn't make it better or worse so don't use it now. I think my last issue with the heat fluctuation was due to it being a fresh build and it hadn't settled down, as per Wayneo's and ChunkyButt200's comments. Fired it up the morning and it seems to working perfectly, so I think I've cracked it ! Thanks for your comments too. Cheers Damian
  8. ha ha got it !! knew that I should know it we tend to use PICNIC .. Problem in Chair; Not in Computer ! And other less PC terms
  9. Thanks Wayneo, I'll give the profile copy thing a go next time I see the issue. Sorry ! what's PEBMAU mean ? I feel I should know but it's got me confuddled ! I'll bear that in mind, will try to allow both to settle down for a while. Thanks for the appreciation of detail ... I work in IT so fully understand that the devil's in the detail !! If only I got a £ for every call saying "the thingy isn't working .. there was an error message but I didn't read it - i'm going for lunch now, can you fix it before I get back " !! Cheers Damian
  10. Ahh I see .. I was starting to think that my mod was trying to make me cut back on nicotine !!
  11. Hi ChunkyButt200, I have an update : see on my other post regarding SS316 /topic/65876-topic/?do=findComment&comment=891802 But basically I have done a service pack re-flash, and now the mod is NOT showing "Check Battery" when firing it whilst in the Device Monitor !! Not entirely sure what is going on, but it seems to be working better ! Thanks for your help again. Cheers Damian PS I hope you enjoyed your pizza
  12. Right ... been a busy bunny.. Built a dual coil build exactly the same as the Snapdragon but for the dual coil deck of my Merlin - 2.5id .50 7 wraps SS316L Switched to Merlin profile - no TC - kept saying "OFF" on screen. But I noticed that it wasn't displaying "Merl" where the profile name should be (on the mod) So switched to the Snapdragon profile, which is in effect exactly the same, and TC is working, and displaying "Snap" on screen. So seemed as if the Merlin profile was corrupt or something. So I saved all the profile settings and did a re-install of the service pack. Re-did the materials list, and added back my 3 atty profiles. And it all seemed to be working correctly ! First thing I noticed is that after having a puff, the mod is flashing up "Temperature Protected" never seen that before !! After vaping it for an hour or so, I decided to test it properly, so I removed the Merlin, switched the profile to the Goblin profile and gave it a go ... all working fine .. Removed the Goblin, switched profile back to the Merlin ... nope, back to "OFF" and not showing "Merl" on screen ! Pulled a battery, left it for a minute, re-inserted said battery, and then the profile name is displayed ? Vaped it, and immediately noticed that the vapour output was a lot more "powerful" at the same temp. To get it back to the same output, I had to reduce the temp down to 127c from 170c So apart from all of the other oddities, it seems that the TC is all over the place ! I don't mind too much having to re-adjust the temp, but I'm guessing this shouldn't be happening ? On a positive note, since doing the service pack re-flash, I no longer get the "Battery Check" message when connected to my PC and using the Device Monitor" ! So there must have been something a bit fubar with the factory firmware ? Anyway .. I'm 80% happier now, and as I only swap atties twice a day (work\home) I can live with these little quirks. Thanks to all for your suggestions and help, I can't make my mind up if I need to raise this with Lost Vape or not ? what's your thoughts ? Many thanks Damian Update: Arrrgh !! left it alone for 20mins, went to vape it .. nothing coming out, had to put the temp up to 222c !! what the flock is going on with this SS I'm not getting this with titanium !
  13. Gotcha !! .. and it fires every press !! no "Check Battery" error ! Strangely it does seem to charge on USB (not that I ever use it) I'm done for now ! going to bed ! Cheers Damian
  14. Is that the "Max peak input current" & "Max sustained input current" ? it won't accept zero, goes to 1 only, this would still be a 1amp charge wouldn't it ? I don't see USB current mentioned anywhere. Cheers Damian
  15. OK thanks agian guys, I've now done the case analyser and got some device specific settings in there. going to do a few different types of build tomorrow and raise the power up as suggested. won't do it now got blurry eye syndrome (may be cause by a bottle of wine !! ) Still getting the Check Battery msg at the mo, but will see what happens when i limit the charge rate and with different builds. Cheers all Damian
