  1. interesting the first link declares that the board they are selling is the ''Latest Version'' if so how many different versions of the board have there been? and what were the changes?
  2. looking at your pictures again the one figure that looks way off is the charging current of 3+amps that is 2 amps higher than the board should be asking for
  3. have a close look where you soldered the balance plug into the board, make sure there are no dry joints and no loos strands of wires touching the other contacts,
  4. well I have tried a lot of different coils with titanium 2 that work for me are dual twisted 2x28gauge 5 wraps on a 2.5 mm spaced (no need to dryburn/dull glow) or my go to coil at the moment is dual coil single wire 28 gauge Ti 10 wraps contact coils pulse heated with 10 watts and squeezed until there is discolouration in the centre .... works a dream for me and the coils seem to be consistent for a lot longer than spaced NI200 , Ti or SS. comes out about .16ohm the other thing that has made a massive difference is this! I currently have 5 velocity clones(before you all have a go! my name is on the waiting list for a genuine one, and as long as i can react to the email that they are back in stock in time! I will have a genuine one.) Anyway the biggest difference for me with TC was to replace the grub screws with some decent SS grub screws. This has stabilised my resistances and in almost every case the resistance has dropped , just by the new screws making a better contact
  5. just tried this and for the first time have got a stable vape from titanium. now to try it with SS thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
  6. Hi, i agree with mod makers {especially the big makers } should take the time to set up the mods before they are shipped, case analyser, battery analyser and mod resistance should be set by the manufacturers. Not so sure about evolve being responsible for supplying tools to test and ensuring mods are tested before shipping. the tools required are very simple. a bent piece of copper wire pushed into the 510 will give you mod resistance, battery analyser can be done with a loop of Kanthal or a number of high power resistors in parallel. the case analyser needs no tools
  7. Vapegeek got my Dna 200 yesterday and phoned me in the evening, apparently changed the battery and it is now holding charge, I should have it tomorrow! So will update again . Again service excellent, three day turn around!
  8. easy way to solve this........... put a multimeter across the 510 connector now mine reads 0.6 volts with the screen off would be interesting to see if anyone elses results
  9. the other option is that there is a normal voltage going between the +ve and -ve of the 510 for the refinement constantly until it goes into sleep mode. I originally thought atomiser analyser was only pulsed to measure the coils resistance when you turned atomiser analyser on. but maybe the refinement voltage is on all the time, and the analyser just allows the reading of it
  10. Is this board available from evolv, and if so where?
  11. Thanks for that, I sent the file over to 3dhubs and got two printed for £11 shipped in 3 days! excellent quality and everything just clips together. thanks for this . although it is going to cost me! I now want a printer
  12. You have no worries with it being taken care of! I have sent two boards back and tracked them back to evolv. the new boards were sent back the day evolv recieved them. one arrived this morning and the second one was shipped from evolv yesterday. the service is excellent
  13. lol, start a spaced vs contact vs clapton in temperature control thread and i will happily give you my theories on that!
  14. another update . the same evening the vt200 started getting warm and went from 20% battery to 0 in about 1/2 an hour with no use. plugged it int escribe and left it to charge for 2 hours. in the diagnostics i set the usb currrent to 0 and removed the atomiser. the voltage dropped from 3.5 to 2.75 in the space of 15 minutes with no firing! so there is obviously something within the board that is draining the battery. i put the current up to .5A and thge screen went dead! it is now on its way back to my suppliers. fortunately my RMA from evolv turned up this morning so i am now happily vaping on my 2200mah ''brick''
  15. I think whoever explained this to you may have done it before the dna200 board. I like things to be logical . so here is how i see it:- complicated version more vapor can only be produced with more power IF and only IF you do not have enough power set initially to maintain the coil at a set temperature. If you have power set so that once the preheat hits and the target temperature is reached. no matter how much you increase the power you will not get more vapour as the device WILL NOT put that power into the coil as the temperature setting will always adjust the power to keep at the same temp! below i have a pic from device monitor, the first puff is at 100w and the second is at 60W as you can see the power delivery is almost identical {so was the amount of vapour)......Why? because the power curve that was sent to the coil was identical irrespective of power set! Simple version:- when using temperature control there is only one constant setting...............temperature! everything else is a variable in relation to the temperature set! ie. when you set the temperature and hit the fire button the temperature goes to and stays at the set temperature. when you set power and hit the fire button with preheat it exceeds your power setting and when the temperature hits target it is way below your power setting. conclusion. I think the power adjustment belongs in the world of regulated non tc mods where i agree more power more vapour! the only purpose of using power on a tc device is to lower the power to where the coil never quite reaches temperature ( which I have used to great effect. see my posts on SS) which can give a more consistent vape especially with SS.
  16. just going to throw my two penneth in! I started the other thread asking for this feature , and I never asked for it to be a default. just to have the option to change it!. I am almost exclusively using SS on a dripper and I have noticed a strange anomaly with this material. brand new coil and 320 F at 60 W is about right, after a few puffs i need to increase the temp to 380 to get the same experience. after a day 400 at 60w gives the same vape and after a few days it requires 420-440F again at 60 w Now changing the power does not affect the vape as normally the temp control will limit the power any way. during this time the resistance of the coil remains constant. SO my theory is that SS (or at least the one i am using) actually changes its heat coeficient the more times it is heated and cooled. therefore I would like to again say that the OPTION to have Temp as the easiest one to change and the main display would be a good idea. My next post here is going to be controversial!
  17. To be honest I think it is down to the mod makers to do that, Evolv have made a fantastic tool, how much more dificult would it be for hcigar/vaporshark and the rest to spend a little bit of time putting the correct battery and case settings, mod resistance. and while they were at it set up some profiles for NI, TI, Kanthal, Nichrome, SS 317, 316, 304. so people can use the device with the coil of their choice immediately on purchase from wgerever without going into escribe! that must be a selling point surely as no one does it yet. and they would only have to do it once! then they could upload the settings to each new device. if any suppliers would like to pay me commision on his idea, please feel free to PM me!
  18. Quick update, i phoned my vendor "vapegeek.co.uk" And have to say I am impressed! He said he would phone Hcigar and get a replacement sent out. Five minutes later he phoned back and said the replacenent will be here end of next week! Very impressed with the service! As I was talking to him I picked up my vt200 . Pressed the fire button and the welcome screens came on! Fired it and it is all working again! It is almost as if it went to sleep for half an hour and then woke up! Bizarre , I have the very latest software/firmware so not sure if this is a bug. But I am happy it is working again.
  19. It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that my vt200 has just demised! It was one of the first ones in the uk No1167. It was working perfectly, took a puff , it was fine. Topped up the dripper and hit the button..... Nothing! I will check later to see if it works on usb which would indicate a fuse blown. Not sure how long I can last without it! The ipv4s just doesn't cut it anymore. I will let you know my progress with getting it repaired/exchanged
  20. i too have the hcigar vt200 it was one of the first batch in the uk, i got it from vapegeek. my mods go thyrough a hard time, this has been kicked dropped and generally abused.but it has worked fautlessly for me the only issue is the battery. it is not a 1300 mah battery, more like 1000mah. mine has the brass 501 which i am happy with as it is a better conductor than SS. but i have heard the newer ones will have a ss 501. if i had to choose i would either get another one of these or wait for the wismec releux to arrive over here. as for the battery, i am not too worried as i have built a ''brick'' with a 2200 mah built in, so the vt200 is now just used as a spare
  21. YEs that is what I meant, and the temp adjust is the last thing I am waiting for!
  22. my vt200 mod resistance measured 0.005 ohms i have it set on escribe at 0.003. just in case anyone is interested
  23. *** 2015-10-21 EScribe 1.0.35.2 *** Should this be known as the pbusardo update?
  24. dont try it! each one has a different curve and expects different reactions when the button is pressed, i just mistakenly put a ss coil dripper on and forgot to change it from nickel i took my usual lung hit and felt the coil/wick/liquid ignite as i was doing it! 10 minutes of coughing later i got back to normal only use the coil materials with the correct profile!!!!!!!! the dna200 does NOT automatically detect the type of materials
  25. I think I know what the problem is! And don't worry it's not a problem! You cannot turn off the a Dna200 device, it is on all the time. Have you changed the settings in the screen tab for charging brightness? The default is 0 So when you plug it InTo charge it looks like it has switched itself off. If you increase the charging brightness it shows when you are charging. Hope I have understood your question fully
