  1. This is one for the Europeans amongst us, I have noticed that the Hcigar vt200 has a CE mark on it. Now I am not so sure that mods fall under any of the categories that require CE approval. Is this just Hcigar bending the truth again (battery capacity) or is there a way of finding out which directive it is approved under? Probably won't get any responses to this question but thought this would be one of the best places to ask!
  2. That's the answer then, learn a bit of patience or pop it in the freezer compartment for a few minutes! It is different because you are 'effectively' putting a different coil in. If you took a vape on one device unscrewed the tank and then immediately screwed it back on the same device you would get exactly the same result
  3. There are two other reasons this could be happening. 1. Your tank is at a different temp than when it was last put on the other device. Are you letting it cool down before swapping over? 2. Are both the devices mod resistance set correctly? If one or both are slightly out then you would also get these symptoms, especially if you are using low resistance coils. The lower you go the more important mod resistance accuracy is.
  4. Where do you live, you might be close to someone on here!
  5. From the way you are asking, I don't think you will like the answer:- Cut off the old connector, cut off the black heat shrink wrapping, desolder the old wire from the plug, put heat shrink over new wires, cut new wires to length (one at a time!) Strip insulation from new wires and solder to old plug, slide heat shrink up and heat till formed. And you are done! Or you can get a new connector and solder that on.
  6. This is possible in my test version. I am however a bit curious: if you are doing this when you switch atomizers, why not use a profile for each atomizer? James, you say "this is possible in my test version" Does this mean that you have a firmware/software version that you are testing that allows temp as the primary adjustment value? ( and smaller increments I hope!!!)
  7. Not sure where you got that from as I have not seen anything like that from evolv officially (unless you are from evolv maybe) I am talking as a self coil building dripper only vaper. And I have found that particularly with Ti and Ss there is a while to 'break in coils' So ythe perfect vape with a ss 317 coil with the steam engine tcr is attained at about 330 f initially but throughout the day the temp required to get the same vape increases gradually until it settles down around 400-420. So yes temp control is a must for me. And with regards to your assumption maybe if that were the case they would have marketed the dna200 as 'dry burn protection ' rather than temperature control...... Just my thoughts
  8. I thought that was what we were here for, to test the beta releases before they became official?
  9. put it down to the cable, i have 3 dna200 devices and one of my cables will give warranty service on all three yet they are all working fine with no issue
  10. I am just dreading the uproar if temp adjustment isn't in the update! I think it is the single most requested feature
  11. I would check that your mod resistance has been set correctly in escribe. it should be between 0.002-0.01 ohms. this matters much more if you are going super sub ohm like you are. if it should be set at for example 0.006 and your coil comes out at 0.06 that could be a 10% error. if you are not happy setting or measuring the mods resistance, try the temp at 350 degrees and work it up slowly till you get the vape you want. Also make sure your coils are spaced with nickel. if you can get hold of any finer nickel wire that might help or try to get more coils in (problem being more coils are more difficult to keep spaced especially in a plume)
  12. to be honest I would prefer smaller updates dealing with one issue at a time. At least if there is a problem or bug it will be easy to narrow down the issue. if there are bugs with an update that addresses a number of issues it could be difficult to diagnose whether it is an individual component of the update or a combination of issues making the problem. just my thoughts!
  13. No calculation, I start temp low and build up to the taste I like. Then I drop power as I find that having a ramp up to the set temperature improves flavour compared to the coil hitting temp immediately. I will even drop preheat pinch and power if it is hitting temp too quickly
  14. Is there anywhere in the uk supplying these 510?
  15. I think this subject has drawn out long enough, if evolv do not implement it in the next update I feel it will be a wasted opportunity. I will try my hardest not toget dragged into this topic again. I just find it odd how someone asks for a fairly simple change in the way the device can be used. Which I think is a fair enough request as per most of the other software/firmware requests. And this particular subject gets responses from "you are doing it wrong, " "you should use wattage not temp for adjusting the vape" " temp does flavour wattage does vapour" Well I have tried both ways on four different 'temp control devices,.... And I know which way I prefer to change my vape experience
  16. Lol I thought VB would join in, I agreed with you yesterday regarding temperature needing to be in smaller increments. But I know you are in the power adjustable vape camp! If you were to try one of the temp control devices that have the temp interface as the main you will see what every poster that has requested this is going on about. After all the DNA 200 is primarily marketed as a temp control device, not a VW device
  17. Really? Wattage example Anemic vape Hold to unlock power Increase watts puff ..bit more Increase watts puff little bit too much Lower watts .. Perfect Hold to lock power Temp example Anemic vape Lock device Hold to set temp Increase temp Unlock device Puff .. Bit more Lock device Hold to set temp Increase temp Unlock device Puff Little bit too much Lock device Hold to set temp Lower temp Unlock device Puff ..., mm mm tastes like it would be perfect in between this and the higher one ( about 5 degrees more! Drives home Turns on laptop Signs in Opens escribe Connects device Changes temp on escribe by +5 degrees Puff ... Perfect So scooby, maybe I have gone to extremes here but my point is yes, to change it once is 15 seconds but how often do you adjust a setting and it is perfect the first time! It is a shame that the best temperature control device on the market is set up to adjust power as the default! Almost as if the temp control was a second thought!
  18. Try using a different usb lead and maybe some decent music would help!
  19. Thanks VB the ones I have in mind are Rated at 3A so they will be more than adequate
  20. Just wondering if anyone knows the current draw on the balance connection as I am looking to make a "slot in battery " but the lipo balance connectors don't look as if they would take a lot of abuse, there are no recommendations for wire gauges on the evolv data sheet . I know it is a bit of an odd question. But any answers would be appreciated
  21. Noticed something strange regarding the warranty service message. I have two Dna200 mods, hcigar vt200 and diy 3x18650. Both working fine, then last week plugged in the diy mod using the hcigar lead and warranty service message came up! Great I thought another rma to America. Then I plugged the hcigar into the same lead and that too showed warranty service. So, the lead went into the bin and I tried another lead ....... So far no warranty service message and both mods are working as they should. Touch wood! So if you get this message try a different lead first. Not sure if evolve could expand why this could be happening as the vt200 lead seems quite substantial compared to most ( just too short) And many of these warranty service issues could be solved just with a change of lead
