  1. Now I know there is not an option on escribe to set battery as a power supply. but is there any way to use this chip as a passthrough , with a plug in power supply. quite happy to solder,/make up circuit for this thanks in advance
  2. bit of an odd one here ,i know this is an old chip DNA 200 40k+ puffs but this week it has stopped charging. on the device monitor it shows .5 amp (computer) but what ever level the batttery is initially it balances the cells and then stays at that level. here are 10minutes of the device monitor, and you can see after the puff it balances to 3.86 per cell then stays at that level. i can come back in an hour and it will be the same. it is a 2200 mah 3s lipo, and the lipo charges fine on a lipo charger. what happens when you plug the mod into a wall wart? i can see that USB current is being drawn from the computer, it has to be going somewhere. if you leave it sit for a few hours on wall wart the pack voltage will not go past 3.86v? does the mod get very warm or hot during the charge cycle? are you positive you have a solid main +/- battery connection to the board? if you have a DMM you can see if the pack voltage rises when you plug a 1a USB wall wart into mod. with a 1 amp charger, the pack voltage should rise a tiny bit as soon as you plug the USB in. last course of action is to contact the vendor you purchased the mod from or contact Evolv directly, through a help ticket. https://helpdesk.evolvapor.com/index.php?a=add
  3. i have a dna 250 with a 400mah battery turnigy graphene but it is a bit of a monster
  4. that's my issue really, does the '?' indicate 0 ohms (perfect short) or infinite ohms (when no atty is attached) there should be no circuit when no atty attached. if the' ?' is infinite ohms that means i am getting a break in the 510 circuit when i screw it in too far
  5. no i didnt change anything. that must have been the default
  6. what a dumbarse.. it was set to wait till usb current rises to 0.1 all working now thanks
  7. I have built loads of dna devices and i measure the mod resistance with a solid copper threaded knob from signature mods. i always get mod resistance between 0.005-0.002 ohms I have just done my first dna250 (massive with a turnigy 4000mah 3s2p graphene lipo) and it reads the resistance as i screw it on like normal but when it makes good contact it shows? does this mean there is 0 resistance in the mod? is this even possible?
  8. just tried it again with 300mm anker cable (seriously over engineered) and same result error reads Please do a battery test wit a usb current of at least 0.9 Amperes Use a powered USB hub i necessary strange thing is, if i uncheck the battery test I still get the same result
  9. weird, my vt200 has just done the same! it has had 49000 puffs mind you! mine has the lightning bolt but is only charging at 0.15A
  10. Hi, I am trying to set up our first dna250 before we start releasing them. but we cant get the production utility to work. it keeps coming up th.t we need to use a powered usb and it needs at least 0.9a charge. I have it plugged in now to the hum we do the test through and it is charging at 1.85a we have tried both sp3 and 4 and it is the same issue with both thanks
  11. dont worry i have found it ------------------------------ dumbarse
  12. Hi, I am missing the production facility on SP3 and SP4 I have to go back to 2016-02-29 to get it. is this a known issue. Thanks in advance
  13. Hi, I have the dna75 chip and want to make a mod with 2 parallel batteries to get a better usage time. But with this brings up two issues. 1. Putting batteries in parallel keeps the voltage the same but doubles the current. So with this in mind do I need to increase the wire gauge for the battery connections? 2. Will it be safe to charge the dna75 batteries via USB considering they will not be balanced. Thanks in advance.
  14. Here's mine with a matching atty stand and spare 18650 case
  15. Not going to apologise for putting this post on here, i know it has nothing directly to do with evolv or the dna chips but for the future of vaping please sign this petition, it is possibly the most important petition we have had yet regarding e cigarettes in the UK. and if the UK sets a precedent maybe that will help the case against the fda. main article is here link petition is here Link thanks for looking
  16. there is an issue with triple 18650 devices that if the contacts are not spot on you get exactly the same symptoms, the warranty service issue could mean only two out of the three are making good contact with the terminals. Make sure all six contacts are good, the reverse protection system on the reuleauxis done manually with the sled, this can stop the batteries making a good connection
  17. have they set the mod resistance in the manufacturers settings?
  18. James ........................ Thank you, Thank you, Thank you I wonder if Vaping Bad will try it?
  19. Isn't it amazing what people with waaaaaay too much time on their hands (another words no lives) comment on?
  20. I would stop it. the battery analyser will not work correctly with cell 2 dropping a lot more than the other two. if you have another Lipo you could try connecting that and see if it does the same, if it does it is a bad connection somewhere or a duff chip. if it doesn't do the same it is the battery. take it back to where you got it from is my advice few more questions; what mod is it and how long have you had it
  21. Yes after a bit more research i have found out that on the hcigar it is in fact china export mark!! CE (european directive mark) and CE China Export mark are identical apart from the spacing! China Export being closer together
  22. Sorry. Did not realise that! But I think being 0.08v difference should not being up unbalanced battery message
  23. Putting a CE Mark on something that does not require it is an offence. As it would have to be tested and certified to the relevant standard. Which means they have not tested it and received CE approval. Or they have tested it under the wrong directive.
  24. I would use the mod to let the voltage drop on all the cells. From what I have seen on device monitor it looks to me like the balance process works throughout the charging cycle ie if you have two cells at 3.7 and one at 3.5 the 3.5 one will charge faster until it catches up. This is quicker at lower voltages as the device is demanding the full current charge. To do it when two cells are practically fully charged will take an age!
  25. The low voltage group starts with anything above 75v dc so it wouldn't fall in that category and it is not an electromagnetic device.
