  1. I have no issues. The SP installed VERY quickly, though I'm going to guess that is because my devices are not a 60 or 80 Color.
  2. I'm awaiting further input from support as I received a reply from them saying that a PPS charger is not needed to achieve the high rate charging. "It is when you try to use a USB 2.0 --> Type C that you will not see the full 3 amps."
  3. To follow up and close this out. I ordered this PD PPS charger and it is working well with the 3A charging. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08F28BH7C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hope this will help someone with the same question.
  4. Thanks, that's the post that caused my confusion. I'm guessing they meant PPS as I can find no reference to PPC protocol. I'll go shop for a charger that is PPS compliant. This is part of some useful reading I found. USB Programmable Power Supply Applications A common application requiring granular control of voltage and current, as offered by USB Programmable Power Supply, is the charging of batteries. In a conventional battery charger topology a voltage supply is applied to a battery charge control circuit and the output of the system provides the proper voltage and current to charge the battery. This works well when the battery charging voltage and current characteristics are standardized and thus the battery charging circuit can be a standard design. For applications where a customized voltage and current charging profile is required for the battery then a USB Programmable Power Supply may be a better solution. With a USB Programmable Power Supply power source the load will monitor the status of the battery and provide commands to the power source such that the battery is charged with the correct voltage and current profile.
  5. I have received the Hyperion and want to charge it via the USB port. I have zero USB-C chargers as I use wireless charging for my other devices. I read some posts here and elsewhere that imply just any USB-C charger will not do. I'll open a ticket with support and ask as well, post here when I get more info. Meantime, would this one do the trick? Amazon Basics 65W One-Port GaN USB-C Wall Charger for Laptops, Tablets and Phones with Power Delivery - White (non-PPS) PD 3.0 (USB-C Port): 5V ⎓ 3A / 9V ⎓ 3A / 12V ⎓ 3A / 15V ⎓ 3A /20V ⎓ 3.25A (Up to 65W) Includes: single-port GaN-tech wall charger, user manual, and Amazon Basics 1-year limited warranty. Note: This charger supports fast charging (9V) and not super-fast charging for devices that require PPS (Programmable Power Supply) e.g. Samsung Galaxy S20/S20+/S20 Ultra/S21/S21+/S21 Ultra/Note 10/Note 10+/Note 20/Note 20 Ultra, etc.
  6. Thanks guys! I have fired up both mods using Replay as suggested and it is vaping fine. As for resistance. My coils read 0.18 on my build box and on the dicodes they've been on. On both these, the coils are reading 0.15. These are plain single round wire wraps, nothing fancy at all. Running a pair of them on each Zeus X. I like to have two complete setups, and everything is identical. Using Replay that doesn't seem to matter as I adjusted wattage until I liked the vape, then saved the puff. On TC with a valid material, the vape is anemic unless I really increase the set temp. I normally vape at 400F and to get much satisfaction on these mods, I need to set 450F. Even then, it isn't really nice. On Replay, 27W is working a treat! Same/better vape as the dicodes. Not going to pursue the resistance/TC any further as Replay is working well for me. In all, the two new mods are excellent! Great build quality, hand feel, and of course, vape. Evolv has certainly come up with a great chip and the programming is way ahead of where I last ran it.
  7. I've been absent for quite awhile from the DNA universe and having two new DNA 100C mods arriving today, I'm wondering what the setup is for these. In the past, I'd fully charge batteries, update EScribe including service packs, run the case analyzer, put my copper plug on and measure the mod resistance then update if needed. Only then would I upload profiles and begin dialing the mod in for TC using NiFe48. Are these steps still needed to get the best TC vape from my new mods? Thanks
  8. How old is the tank? I've had similar issues in the past and found eventually the tank was just done working properly. I use the same wire and have for a few years now. Prior was SS 430. I've had some issues with resistance reading high, but since I know what they should be and how they usually read on my mods, if it doesn't look right I just loosen and tighten that tank and re-read the resistance. Normally fixes it. Regarding the resistance of your coils, I have never been able to TC or Replay lower than 0.13 and have settled on a build that reads 0.18 on my coil master and 0.165 on my DNA 250Cs and DNA 75C. The discrepancy between the coil master and the three mods has never been explained and doesn't really matter to me. Or to my vaping. Might want to try a higher resistance build and see how it performs. If that works, cool. If not, I'd open a ticket with Evolv and RMA the unit. They have done a couple of mine in the past and have excellent return time.
  9. Hmmm, I thought I posted a reply yesterday. I used the copper plug, tighten/loosen 10-12 times. Each time the resistance got a bit better. Finally, it was stable at 0.008 and that is what I used for mod resistance. The Paranormal is vaping fine now and has been since yesterday. But yes, I have the idea that Evolv is only responsible for the board and not the rest of the components. Perhaps I was thinking because I opened a ticket for this, got an RMA, got the mod serviced by Evolv who, I guess replaced the board, then a few weeks later have the exact same issue, maybe it was the board. Not being completely sure and not wanting to send the mod off again is why I asked. Since I has eliminated the tanks as the source, that left the mod. I cleaned, tightened, etc. Looks like only the much longer threading of the plug was going to free whatever it freed. That I could use the copper plug to exercise the 510 and get it back in service was great, glad I happened to have one.
  10. Hit Steam-Engine and get the profile for Alloy52 They use the other alloy for the ID, 52 vs 48 It is what I use for my NiFe48 from Zivipf.
  11. Thanks, I do have the copper from Smoke Free Mods. Haven't used it since the VT166. I have wiped/cleaned the 510 threads and pin. Again, this is the only device the tanks read weird on. And, the resistance is variable on this mod. Kinda disappointing as it made a trip to Evolv and returned with a new chip (I guess since it wasn't recognized by EScribe) but same problem as I sent it in.
  12. Yes, other devices all have show the same resistance for the tanks. I suppose it could be dirty connector, but I have used iso alcohol to clean the 510 connector and also made certain the pin is floating.
  13. I have a Paranormal 250C that reads coils too high. I have other 'C' chipped mods and my buildbox that all agree the coils are 0.145 On the Paranormal, they read 0.17-0.21 That isn't good for vaping in Replay mode. I have sent the mod in for RMA service because of this once already and a new board was installed as it was not recognized in EScribe when it returned. Worked fine for a couple of weeks and back to the high readings. Ideas?
  14. Just got my Linux box setup and SP19 is fine with my 200s 250Cs and 75C Thanks!
  15. Evolv has always done right by me and my mods if they needed repair. It's why mine is a DNA only household.
  16. It's rumored that Linux support is coming to Chrome OS 'Real Soon Now'. Maybe at that time we'll be able to run the Linux version on Chrome OS.
  17. Is it reading consistent over time? My main reason for saying that is the lousy QC of Lost Vape recently. If you are going to give up, give up after exhausting all options. Then return to the AF compatible mods.
  18. @Photo Pete There is no way any AF capable chipset gives better results than any DNA chipset. Just isn't in the same league. Now, the mods the chips are put into are a different matter. Lost Vape, IMO, has dropped the ball on QC with nearly all their recent mods. Including their Modefined series. Your problem lies with them, not Evolve. I have one of their less than stellar Paranormal 250c mods and find it does odd things from time to time. I work around them as I love Replay mode. I'm actively looking for a new dual battery 250c and when I find it, will retire the Paranormal. Lost Vape is no longer on my list. For your issue, I can partly sympathize. If you are handy, open it up and look at the wiring especially at the 510 connector. Or, exchange the mod for a different one wherever you bought it if still in the return window. Else, bump the temp/use Replay and vape.
  19. It isn't meant to support straight Kanthal. If it does, consider it blind luck. Evolv does not advertise it as doing Kanthal in Replay mode. I'd think the very name of the hidden option would be a big hint. Unlikely.
  20. Go here and set the wire type to Nifethal 52 (Alloy52) that is how that site identifies NiFe48. NiFe48 CSV Tool Click on DNA200 in the table on the right and then download the CSV Install it into the Materials then use that material in your profile. Make sure, of course, that all your connections are tight/clean/good on mod, tank, and coil.
  21. What a great theme! You’ve knocked it out of the park with the 2.0 update. Not a handful of settings slapped together. This is elegant, cohesive, and powerful. Thanks so much!
  22. Actually, retird is correct. If it can't be enabled, the right software and firmware is in place, else it would be cannot be found. Many of the 'Replay does not work' posts I've seen and answered are those who insist that Kanthal will/must work. Many of the rest have been 'I made some changes to a theme and Replay doesn't work'. If you have a working mod, follow the directions for enabling Replay, it has worked on all the 75c & 250c mods I've had the pleasure to setup.
  23. Where is this setting? I'm blind today...
  24. I think you have other problems with your tank/coils/wicking. No idea what you mean by confirm TC material in wattage material table. I use SS430 daily and can assure you that Replay works well with it.
