  1. +1 I'd like to be able to set the increment as a parameter also. I find myself setting temps like 394 & 396 F in profiles via Escribe ATM.
  2. That is not true... The problem is with the chip and its features!!!! That is exactly what the problem is. Listen if I want to vape in temp mode and have my settings set to TEMP MODE then it should stay there regardless if I have the correct tcr uploaded. It would just be running at the wrong temperature. So don't push the blame on to the wire I'm using or the wire companies not releasing info. This device has the ability to run some crazy builds the way you want them to run but its getting kicked out due to a chip "safety" feature. Makes zero sense and a firmware update could fix the problem.[/QUOTE] I see your point that it would be useful for you and have no objection for it to be put on as part of a profile. But they are making a device for every vaper and the way they used refinement to better calibrate your coil + mod + atty resistance is awsom and far better than locking the res. Likewise coming out of temp mode when the coil does not change temp enough is a good thing. There are real issues with using ss and even if you got the TCR from the wire supplier it would sill only be 1/6th the sensitivity of Ni200, that's just physics and ss standards not being about exact chemical make-up of the metal.
  3. You have not said what your prob is, but I see one cell is a little lower than the others and you get quit a big voltage sag firing at 75 W. That is probably just the quality of the battery, but poor power connections & wiring could also be a part of the cause of the sag.
  4. They have a rep for that, I think it is the way the wires are just trapped against the silicon seal that is the cause.
  5. Never been about dry hit for me, the pre-heat and cleaner flavour from keeping the max temp your liquid sees are massive benefits. Ti should be a lot better than ss, but the only times I have had a DNA fall out of temp mode have been atty problems, build problems or very dirty 510 and temp limiting on DNAs has been my ADV for 11 months now. Same deal with refinement it is always connections issues, I recently got a DAN40 with res lock and hate it, would much rather have power lock back. Are people saying they get nasty hits dropping out of temp mod turning the watts up very high and relying on the temp limit to regulate power?
  6. Evolv plan a protection for 2 cell as well and the same applies as to 3 cell regarding reverse protection it is at your own risk.
  7. I imagine it is just because ss, especially with a bulky coil doesn't change temp by 150 F in the first second sometimes and it tripping the safety feature. Big coils retain a lot of temperature and ss is a very poor metal to use for temp limiting with only about a sixths of the sensitivity of nickel, it's just physics.

  9. In Escribe in the Mod tab, Electrical section.
  10. Sugru is a silicon putty that is good for mounting boards.
  11. What are the Watt Hours of each set up?
  12. You need to set the brightness > 0% in Escribe and it takes about 30 secs to switch over after plugging in.
  13. It tracks the resistance as the coil cools and during idle to get a more accurate base/cold resistance value. Locking the resistance you miss all this goodness, IMO res lock is just a last resort to get you past inconsistent connection problems and it is always better to fix the problem and never use it.
  14. I think that the specs for ss are more about corrosion resistance and hardness so allow those variances in make up which could change the TCR considerably, I am no expert. This is why I feel that wire vendors should be providing the TCR in an ideal world.
  15. Nice use of space in that design @Whatthe?
  16. You could solder the ground wire to the brass nut and tighten the 510 from the top (the back of a some knives work if they are hard enough steel, the right width and have a straight square edge, I used a high carbon steel Frosts Mora).
  17. SS covers a large number of alloys, resistivity is no the same at the Temperature Coefficient of Resistance that the DNA used to gauge temperature. The simple answer is if temp limiting is not working you almost certainly have non matched alloy and TCR. Hopefully wire vendors will start to provide TCR curves in the near future. IIRC the video Brandon did on the DNA40 launch with PBusardo he explained that a difficulty with ss was the variance in the alloys. (ss will not be nearly as accurate as Ti wish will not be as accurate as NI)
  18. /topic/65594-topic/ 1% resistors are cheap, put them in a dripper with a couple of low values you will have a datum, you may need to put a couple in parallel to get very low.
  19. Is that the "Raw Ohms" in atty analyser or the normalised cold ohms for a temp limiting wire shown on the device? I would look at the Mode resistance thread in the software area and find the mod resistance, then maybe buy a 1% resistor or two put in a dripper and check with that.
  20. I would expect the VT200 to be more accurate than the SX Mini M, what make you so sure that the VT200 is wrong? (0.57 - 0.50 = 0.07 not 0.5)
  21. I would think you are right and the mass of the coil also affects how smoothly it can be regulated.
  22. Don't do that if they are different mods, especially if the battery is different or the mod resistance has been set, case analyser or battery analyser has been run without changing these settings.
  23. Very strange they have excellent terminals, I think I would put some copper in the velocity to test the combined atty & mod resistance and see if it is stable in Atomiser Analyser. Mod res thread.
  24. Change it, a friend of mine posted this AM that it should be 14.43 Wh, I don't know where he got that, but I would trust him. link
