Mac EScribe Suite Beta Thread

Mac Kernal Panics when i connect Paranormal 250c to ESscribe, the suite runs fine on my Mac but as soon as i try to connect the Paranormal mod it crashes every time immediately. Looking into the logs i suspect it's the usb power causing it to flip out somehow so i removed the batteries from the mod and it connects to EScribe fine, recognises the mod and allows updates and settings changes which is great but what is going on here? Is it possibly the usb Powerbank function of the mod accidentally trying to power the mac causing a kernal panic? Is there any way to disable the powerbank function on the mod so i can test this theory with the batteries in?

*** Simplified Panic Report ***
panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff80129d0c0b): Kernel trap at 0xffffff80129ec387, type 14=page fault,

Fault CR2: 0xffffff80e3138fa0, Error code: 0x0000000000000000, Fault CPU: 0x0, PL: 1

Setup: MBP 15", OSX El Capitan 10.11.6, EScribe2_SP13_INTL, Lost Vape Paranormal 250c

p.s I'm new here so apologise if i'm in the wrong thread but it is Mac specific when using EScribe.

Not sure, are you coming connecting to a laptop? In my case I like to turn OFF USB charging in Escribe when connected to my laptop,  so I’m not draining my laptop battery as I play. My mods are all single battery, but yours is 2 or 3, and maybe the current draw is too high for the computers USB specs. That’s all I can think of.  I believe Escribe defaults to charge mode each time it’s connected.

I didn't know i could do that as i'm still learning, i found an option in device manager to turn off usb charging so i did but i didn't get any confirmation that it was off, reconnected the device with the batteries in and it still kernal panicked as soon as i connected it so must be something else or i didn't switch usb charging off correctly but i like your thinking here and was worth a try.  I am using a laptop - MacBook Pro and dual 18650's in the mod.

I believe you can only turn it off, while connected, for that session, which is a problem for you if your crashing as soon as it’s connected. You could try going to an older version of Escribe, not sure that would help. Maybe someone else here with that mod and a Mac, can jump in here.  If more then one person has the same problem, there is a thread here to report bugs.

After more testing i think it's more a problem with my particular Mac than the EScribe software as it crashed when i was testing the usb charging even when EScribe wasn't running, so not an EScripe sofware issue after all just my Mac being jealous and grumpy with my new sexy mod, but thanks for the help anyway.

Fellow Mac non-color users. Does this happen if YOU set a 'Custom Screen' on individual Profiles? This still occurs using the latest beta Escribe 2 beta versions, both US and Intl. Keep an eye on the word Watts.

All I'm doing is continually 'Upload to Device' and the image gets corrupted, but NOT on the device itself. This occurs on all profiles.

do you know if there is going to be a release for mojave?

I doubt a mojave specific version is needed - it runs fine on the public beta version.

The only thing I would suspect being needing code changes, is if escribe should support the new MacOS Mojave Dark mode fully - but thats just a pure cosmetic change. All functionality in escribe works fine with the public beta, and I doubt that will change with the release version.

There is. Mac changed from high Sierra to Mojave’s to a 64bit. Almost every app had to remake.  Escribe starts but that’s it.

It appears that 32 bit applications should run in 10.14, but not 10.15.  If you have a developer release of 10.14 and Escribe is not running, I would look elsewhere for the problem.

doesnt run in 10.14 beta 11, its hard to find any 32 bit app that works with mojave.
