I am running an external button and have triple checked my wire configuration and it's still doing the same thing. It is frustrating to say the least. If the fire button on the board is bad will I have to send it to evolv to get fixed? Ah...I did not know you were using an external button. That adds a few more layers of things that could go wrong. In addition to the above possibilities, your external button could be hard shorted for "on" or you could have build a solder bridge on the DNA chip when installing the button. So bad built in button, bad external button or solder bridge. All of which should be able to be tested with an meter. Yes, if it is the built in button, then it goes back, but my money is on a fat solder job or a bad external button. Test with a meter for an open short when the button is not pressed. If you get something other than infinite resistance, then you have a short...bad button or fat solder joint.

giz_60
I would try disconnecting the external button completely. Problem persists, then a possible board problem...if not, either your wiring or a bad button...

Willy
dberry, I enlarged and enhanced one of your pics showing where you solder wires for the remote fire switch. I'd try to carefully clean this area between these two holes with some IPA and q-tips, make sure it isn't making a connection there. What did you use for soldering flux? Not soldering paste found in the plumbing dept at someplace like Lowes was it?
dberry19k
I used electrical solder with a flux core that I got from hobby lobby

heyace11
Hi guys! My Therion BF DNA75C won't unlock. I already tried resetting it to the default factory settings. It still won't unlock with the 5x Fire Button clicks. I also tried setting it to other combinations using the Escribe Program, It still won't unlock using the new combination. HEEEELLLLPPPP :'(
retird
In EScribe when you changed the settings did you upload them to the device?
heyace11
I already had it checked. Turns out it was swamped with juice inside that's why it keeps on messing up.
retird
Yep, swamped with juice inside is not a good thing...
WickedJack
Hello everyone this is my 1st post on the forum I'll be buying a used Therion today @ a insane good deal (I think) If I can get some feedback that would be awesome before I hand over the crazy $40 Canadian for this beauty almost mint mod The lady said its the pinched wire behind the fire button as the mod still fires and works, she said but you just have to change the settings thru Escribe. Now I've never owned a DNA before or used Escribe so once I make sure it does work what testing can I do before I tear into it to check the pinched wire..? Thank You ! I find it hard to believe you'll find ANY wire behind the fire button. You'll find a screen cable and a loose button that depresses an actuator on the board. That screen cable might be pinched, or the board holder might be faulty. Screen cables are like $12 USD. Oh, watch an escribe tutorial while you're at it. In Device Monitor, it'll show if any buttons are depressed.

Sorry yes I meant the screen cable, I just picked it up the guy used it for a week screen went out so he said screw it and went back to smokes. Poor guy the mod is in mint condition ! I'll letcha know what escribe finds later today. What's the button combo to get it out of stealth mode again ? Thank You very much 😊
Wayneo
If you go into escibe, Help, click the teardrop in the logo 7 times and it will put you into debug mode. About 2/3rd of the way down on the left hand side is a 'scree disconnect' field. It should be zero, but if it's increasing, it's the screen.

Ok thank you I have it hooked up & yeah the screen isn't at 0 and when I put a check mark by it it does climb.. But looking at the left side while the graph is running, near the top where it says "pack" its flashing 8.01v then error and closer to the bottom where it says "power" it flashes between ? and error. Is something totally pooched with this mod ? I hope not it is dang nice !
Wayneo
Can you do a full Printscreen of Device Monitor, showing that

Here you go Let me know if you would like anything else checked off Thank You EDIT: These are the only 2 things that were already checked when I opened Escribe. I'm still figuring out how to use it obviously but if I may ask what is the option under Tool/Diagnostics, Perform USB Recovery Charging ? What does this do..? Wayneo
Hey Jack, might I suggest you upgrade to Escribe v2.x I've been running v2 SP9 without any issues at all. Recovery Charging is really only for internal Lipo batteries, where the internal cells are out of balance. Yours are both showing 4.16v I haven't seen those gaps before on pack voltage, mine are a solid line. Your screen cable, if not pinched, could just be soaked in juice, in sorta crooked, or even the hold down tab not fully closed. If you rip it apart, in the datasheet there's a picture of it and what's right and wrong. OR, you could open a ticket with evolv.
