I'm going to have to guess at it but I suspect Kanger is still using that sliding 510 pin in the base of the atomizer as with the ST mini. Probably the pin is not getting pressed in good to make connection with the heads positive pin. Try pressing it in before screwing on the atty and see if that seems to help.

battery draining to 3.1V - doesn't this damage it?

In EScribe under the screen tab you can set it to show pack voltage. Perhaps increase your cell soft cut off. -

Well it's for sure better to not be taking your battery all the way down but 18650's are cheap and easy to replace, maybe carry another battery in a battery box if a charger isn't handy. -

What it drops to under load is of concern, less than 2.5 volts would not be good for the battery. Do you get the "weak battery" message or with the newer firmware the battery symbol flashes? -

Is this during use or is it draining while not being used for a while? -
Since it is close to the same (same actually) to what readings I got with tha DNA 200 I don't see any problem. Thanks though. Had I measured the voltage where the 510's wires are soldered to the board there probably would have been a different reading. The main grit of my post was that the output measured was the same on the DNA 200 with both firmware.

For what it's worth I just did a little testing using a Magma RDA. I used my VTbox200 running SP3. Using EScribe voltage readings and a volt meter on the RBA's posts. I then rolled back the firmware to 2-23 and compared the two. I also used an IPV2 and took voltage readings off the posts of the RDA. Wattage set at 45 and temp off EScribe with both firmware said 4.75 volts, the voltage readings off the RDA's posts were the same also, 4.39 volts. Voltage readings taken from the RDA posts on the IPV2 also was 4.39 volts.

So my Kanthal with preheat didn't seem to work with SP3 so I went back to "recommended" and it worked. But then I flashed it back to SP3 and preheat with Kanthal works. This is with a DNA200.

I'm going to do one using a flask clone later this year I think using the small screen one.

^^^^true but still might how the ).0016? came to be.

I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned before so here goes. I just checked my SDNA 75 again for mod resistance, not only was I wanting to see than it was still 0.002? but wanted to see how many digits the the right of the decimal point it reads and it's 3. So how did DJSLB come up with ).0016?? Just something I was thinking about, perhaps he measured it with other means.

The way I see it there are only a few reasons that would make it "necessary" to upgrade to this latest software/firmware, you have a DNA250 or DNA60, SS3XX is your go to wire. I upgraded all of mine regardless, my go to wire is SS430 Ni free, it worked good with the recommended firmware. Just saying.

Much better and consistent with what others are reporting.

I'm guessing the 60 will be in a different case, just a guess though.
