  1. Yes, temperture protection, that's what I should have said, and that's how I've explained it to those that get confused about the onscreen message. You may recall we got into the true meaning of that message a year or so a go, so I could fully understand it. Glad you are open minded enough to see the point I was making.
  2. I have come to rely on the TC notification. And have defended it to so, so many that originally see it as a WARNING, and not a notice that your device is working properly and just letting you know you have achieved the temperature you set it to. And then in future updates you allowed the TC message to be turned off, for those that did not care for it. My point being, while I'm certainly happy for a better vape experience, you have also introduced another variable. I can see folks saying, sometimes I get the TC message on screen, sometimes I don't! Personally I think if possible there should be a consistently of the TC message, and that if the user, like me has it set for on screen display, then I expect it to display every time I hit the temp target I set it to, regardless of the current wire material. Does this not seem logical?
  3. Seems James is working on it some more. I work all day and don't have the ability to test. I'm sure he will get it right with the help of the others. Wish I was RETIRED! Got a few years left.
  4. Yes, it's getting lost in that thread and I looked to see if someone made an official BUG REPORT, and not seeing one thought it appropriate to do so. The 1.2 version is still on the download page, perhaps adding a note for vaporshark owners would be helpful to avoid surprises?
  5. Did the upgrade to 1.2 on my VS DNA200. So far there are a few others that have confirmed this ODD behavior. Plugged in to charge. One of my on screen settings is to see "USB CURRENT", normally shows close to the 2 amp charge I get with my iPad wall charger. This field is now showing low numbers, constantly changing, charging is SLOW. I didn't change the setting, before update, it shows AMPS being delivered by the USB connection. It was a steady number like 1.96 amps. Now this field is showing numbers constantly changing, none close to 2 amps. Ramping from zero up then back down. I've done 2 soft resets, tested with two different chargers and cables. Hoping this bug can be fixed quickly with another minor update?
  6. Not if you use the 99% copper plug. You use the actual ohms you see on the screen. Look earlier in this thread as I put the link to the original discussion.
  7. In his latest video, he has moved, and made a new office. It's a long winded video, no devices reviewed, but he does reverse the camera and show some of the tools he uses. I don't recall anything specific like a scope, but I was not paying 100% attention. Take a look at it if you have time, perhaps you can pick up on it. He does briefly point out his heat sync devices. I noticed these on his desk as at one point as I was considering buying them. They are used to get all the case thermal numbers. Not that costly, and there is a thread on here where one of the mods discusses them, just too limited for me as a single use tool.
  8. First of all I don't need this mod right now. Secondly, I have bad experiences in doing such in the past. And mostly, I'd like to see how Evolv handles this. I assume a quick new version of the software/firmware to be offered. It's great that you and I participate in forums like this and ECF, but many users may simply update via Escibe or just somewhere on the net, and have a VaporShark DNA200, and will have a bad experience. I doubt Evolv wants to put out buggy software/firmware and then have to explain a work around as to make it work properly. I applaud your efforts, and perhaps what you have done will help them figure out the bad code. If it were my only mod, or it made my computer stop working, I would have followed your discovery already. Let's see how fast Evolv fixes this, they mentioned having Apple Mac software out in late 2015, or first quarter of 2016. Last I looked, it's the 3rd quarter, and we're behind!
  9. I'll wait for an official Evolv response to this issue. I don't have the time to write the many reasons I will not be rolling back software and firmware. A new version will have to be released as most new owners or updaters will have no clue to the problem or even read these forums.
  10. The FDA is making everything a tobacco product, that's how you create a TOTAL BAN! I'm sure the black market will be celebrating 8-8-16, as well as BIG TOBACCO. CIGALIKES and cigarettes of course will still be for sale on every street corner. Remember, we must protect the "kids"........
  11. I'm sure they will. But I'm not assuming. I've done the tests. Have you? Its the SOFTWARE/FIRMWARE, and I'll put money on it!
  12. I know, I'm one of the first to report this BUG. Since the VaporShark has not changed, I think we can assume it's the new SOFTWARE.
  13. Yeah, gives me a bit more confidence in DJLSB's 0.0016 preset. Now that I'm managing 4 different SMY SDNA75's, I'm going to use 0.002 on all of them, even though one read at 0.003. This way if I want to change any other mod settings, I'm only dealing with a single Escibe file, not four. I'll have to trust his case settings as doing those tests requires some good heat sinks, ones I never bothered buying.
  14. I edited my first post above with RETEST RESULTS, using the latest Escribe version 1.2. Got 0.002 INSTEAD of 0.006.
  15. I just sent my HCigar VT75 Nano back due to poor battery cover threads on the mod side, but when the replacement comes, I'll do a copper plug resistance test on it.
  16. First clue is I did not change anything other then updating Escribe to v1.2, and then the DNA200 firmware. Same iPad 2.1 amp charger and 2 amp capable USB cable wire. Then swapped out charger and cable same results. To answer the other questions. In Escribe: All 3 lipos show 3.97 volts TOTAL PACK = 11.92 volts 7.5 WH CHARGE: 74% No matter what charge was showing on VaporShark in the past, the AMP reading was always rock steady and accurate.
  17. Confirmed by another user. This appears to be a NEW BUG, can't do 2amp charging.
  18. Did the upgrade to 1.2 on my VS DNA200. Maybe someone can confirm this ODD behavior. Plugged in to charge. One of my on screen settings is to see "USB CURRENT", normally shows close to the 2 amp charge I get with my iPad wall charger. It was a steady number like 1.96 amps. Now this field is showing numbers constantly changing, none close to 2 amps. I've done 2 soft resets, tested with two different chargers and cables. This may be a BUG! Take a look at yours, if you use the USB CURRENT screen setting while charging, which is one of the choices you really should be using!
  19. I left those as they came. DJSLB set those up, hopefully they are accurate. Those tests are the hardest to requiring some special heat sinks. If you have them, would love to see your results.
  20. Agrees exactly with my results. I wonder how Daniel did his tests. I would write him, but he never returned my last two messages in the past on other issues, so I don't bother anymore.
  21. This was the original "copper 510 tool" thread for more info: /topic/66031-topic/
  22. These SMA SDNA75 devices were setup software wise by DJLSB, a very knowledgeable reviewer. They come with wire presets, that I have since changed. However he did include device resistance settings. I can't confirm the case thermal numbers as I have not run those tests. The only one I can test is the the main device resistance in "Atomizer Analizer", using the solid cooper 510 plug that was sold through a member on this forum, look in the DNA200 thread. You first set the resistance to ZERO, upload the settings back to the device, then run the test. The original value that has been preset on the device was: 0.0016 My test showed 0.002 on 3 of them, and 0.003 on the 4th. This under Escribe version 1.2 There are other ways to short the 510, if you don't have this custom copper plug. Feel free to add your results to this thread.
  23. Wasted a lot of my time on this. Very few of the options you can choose "when charging" make sense to me. Like "ohms", since I'm CHARGING, why would I care to see ohms, I can see the ohms of an attached atomizer by clicking the fire button. OK, we now KNOW the more useful option of seeing the USB current is NOT AVAILABLE, as it is on the DNA200, and yes it would be just as useful to see on a DNA75 device as many chargers are not 1-amp chargers, and even if you know and use the right wall charger, many USB cables often don't deliver the proper current. Seeing this information directly on the device would be helpful. Many don't have separate devices to test USB cables and chargers as I do. So looking at what is available for the three on screen slots when CHARGING, I use: BATTERY PERCENTAGE BATTERY VOLTAGE But don't see any other choice that is useful, so for now I made the third choice: "ROOM TEMPERATURE", just for lack of a more useful option! Anyone have a BETTER idea for the 3rd choice? If so what would you suggest and why? THANKS!
