  1. @JohnI'm assuming there are two versions for legal reasons, but it would be nice to know if there are any downsides to installing the international version on a USA Mac computer. If not, then is it ok, to simply overwrite the US version I currently have installed?
  2. Seems to be working on 10.9.5 here as well, have to put it through the paces. NICE job, Apple has moved well past this OS version, very HAPPY you were able to make Escribe work on this older OS!
  3. Guess I missed it, but now see Escribe for Mac working with DNA75's! With so many waiting for Mac support for these devices, I'm surprised there was not a major announcement. Spread the word, HOORAY!!! I'm just starting to play, seems like the mac version can open my Windows saved versions, only tried this once as I have to copy over all my windows saved files. Anyone else try doing this, do the windows saved files transfer accurately?
  4. I'll be able to offer some Mac input when it's capable of reading a DNA75. While I plan on buying a COLOR mod, right now all I've seen are two main companies producing them, neither of which I care for.

  6. Unfortunately, my computer is stuck on Mavericks 10.9.5, and I don't have a DNA Color yet, waiting for more companies to start using the new chip in their mods. I just downloaded and installed the latest version, and the apps did LOAD, hopefully they will actually work for me when I get a "C" DNA. Thanks.
  7. Try Temco SS, it's annealed (soft) https://www.temcoindustrial.com/stainless-steel-wire-316l-non-resistance.html
  8. SS is certainly easier, and if you can taste the brand titanium you have tried, good reason to avoid it. But, there are versions of G1 titanium that are not hardened, and just as easy to work with as Kanthal. And with a proper TCR custom setting, it can be dry burned. So while I don't recommend it for beginners, or lazy folks, the debate is really, is it a better wire to use "health wise"? Many are allergic to nickel, and the jury is out on SS, though I use it as well. Titanium wire for vaping is something you'll have to research on your own, but from my own research I believe it may be the best so far, in regards to having the least toxicity to the human body, when used properly. For most, at least for now, the recommendation to use SS, is a good one. When not using a lazy pre-made SS notch coil, I still prefer using titanium over all the other options, then again, I've read and learned a lot about it over the years, and use it properly. Have fun!
  9. Folks can vape on guitar wire if they like it. Not my concern. KISS V. said it best: "SSV Titanium is not a off the shelf general graded titanium, not going into the fact that once it is drawn it would need to be regraded. It is a alloy that was developed specifically for vaping." It's an ALLOY! The titanium I prefer to buy is G1, NOT an alloy. So if you like it, price aside, then enjoy it, just don't confuse the actual differences. And I also agree with KISS V., people can post all kinds of credentials, but without proper investigation, we are forced to place our faith or not, and that's one of the reasons there is so much misinformation all over the place. I' have read all the posts on ECF concerning titanium wire, and I have made the choice to trust what I've read there, and personally choose my G1 titanium from sources like Unkamen, but more recently Temco, sources I trust. The TCR of their titanium matches my DNA mods perfectly, without the need to download any custom SSV TCR profiles, which are needed as it's an alloy. For those sensitive to other "metals" in their vapor path, you'll have to figure out if any of the alloys could be an issue for you. Seems some may have a horse in the race here?
  10. I believe preheat is off, and SS in power mode at 1-2 watts does show the 26 ohms, properly. Not sure what that means, but it is as you say.
  11. You are welcome. With SP5 I did NOT have over tighten, but I did not test that aspect on any of my other DNA devices.
  12. I just ran SP5, on my new VS Switchbox DBA75, which came from VS with a ".004" already set. Zeroed settings, use the copper plug, and got the EXACT same number. So I would say it worked!
  13. Thanks! That's odd though since when I wrote my posts earlier in this thread, I believe I was using SP3. I did see the "?", but after making the plug really tight, it showed the resistance. I could be mistaken on the SP version I was using at the time. I do hope they fix the issue.
  14. What am I missing here, did the copper plug stop working at some point. I think the last SP I installed was SP3.
  15. It's NEVER recommended to lock resistance on a DNA mod, unless you have a problem Atty.
  16. Thanks VB. I was just curious about the discrepancy I was seeing.
  17. Just curious about this behavior. On both my DNA200 and DNA75 devices, I have a Stainless Steel notch coil reading at 26 ohms in TC mode. Ohms never locked and stay consistent. With the Atty at room temp, when I switch the mod to "power mode", the ohms immediately show as 29 ohms, as I puff the ohms rise to .32 ohms. If I put the mod down, let it cool, the ohms go back down to .29 again, but never the .26 ohms that I see when in TC mode. Wondering why I am seeing two different initial cold ohm readings, depending on being in TC or Power mode?
  18. "Sweet Spot Vapors Ti wire is a specific alloy of Titanium with lots of engineering to reduce chance of TiO2, etc." Titanium grade 1, is NOT an "ALLOY", most titanium users, and a few experts dispute these SSV claims, some even laugh at them. PBusardo likes it mostly as they include a CSV file, but while I enjoy Phils reviews, he's no expert on a lot of subjects. Do yourself a favor and save some money by using real titanium G1, the CSV file can be found on SteamEngine site, and the Temco ti works fine with every mod I own that has a built in TI preset. The main reason to use titanium in the first place is to avoid alloys. https://www.temcoindustrial.com/titanium-wire-grade1-non-resistance.html
  19. I had that issue on a few of my mods until I tightened it even more then I was comfortable with. When it was further down I got a reading.
  20. I'll just add, with SP3, the Vaporshark DNA200 and SNY SDNA75, the copper plug read resistance fine, same as before updates. However, I just received my HCigar VT75 Nano, an 18650 mod, like the SNY. In the Atty check, all I get is the "?", NO ohm resistance reading at all. I manually set it at "0.002", same as the SNY, as a GUESS. UPDATE: screwed the copper plug down till it was super tight, got a reading of 0.004. Just wasn't making the connection.
  21. Just to add to the database. My copper ohm resistance tests on my VS DNA200, where identical at 0.005, with the first version of Escribe right through the SP3 update.
  22. Well, a software bug, who wooda thunk it. SP3 seems to have fixed the bug, 2 amp charging now working again on Vaporshark DNA200. Will be monitoring the charges, hope that's the end of it. VAPIN ON!
  23. Exactly, well said! Also, was not aware of the new Temp Peak option, thanks.
