Yep, 0.65 ohm is too high to get more than about 55 W from 2 batteries because of the 6 V max output voltage, you need to build below 0.27 to get full wattage range, but even 0.4 ohm should get you up to 90 W. See the table in my thread I linked to. It is not the batteries, the board only converts voltage downward and 6 V is the max for 2 cells regardless of how good your batteries are, it is not really an issue with 3 cells or rebuildable atties, but is just a bit restrictive for 2 cell versions using pre-made coils heads.
-
No probs, but I think that is what you're problem is. When the board was designed it was just for 3 cells and had a max output voltage of 9 V. Then after requests on this forum Evolv modified the firmware to allow it to run from 2 cells up to 133 W and the max output voltage also reduced to 6 V. So the max resistance you can run at a give wattage is also reduced. It is easy to see if you attach to device monitor and the voltage is at 6 V you are on that voltage limit and you need to have a lower resistance to get more power.

It is probably because the 2 cell variants are limited to 6 V output, 0.5 ? should be OK up to about 65 W, but running in power mode the warm res will be a bit higher. You need a lower res coil really. /topic/67167-topic/?do=findComment&comment=904626

I deleted it, as it was going down hill fast, this forum is for DNA 200 owners, those interested in the device and for Evolv to share info and help each other with these devices, that thread was not. Broader related topics, socialising and humour are also fine, just play nice.

Do you mean you can't change between profiles on the mod (lock ohm/temp whichever is the big number by holding the up & down buttons for about 5 secs, then pressing up or down > 2 times to scroll to the profile and pressing fire to select)? Or is it a problem with the computer software EScribe?

The case thermals for charging are so the heat produced charging is taken into account during the coil resistance refinement process.

What I wrote in the other thread: Personally I cannot understand any manufacture providing firmware updates that increase output power as that is really limited by the hardware's capabilities. Is it that they are removing/reducing a safety margin that made sense when they launched it? Is is something that they planned with a safety margin for marketing purposes, but I would think they would have rather had the extra sales, if any, all the time. Is it they better understand the device now? Is it that they knew if they did it a launch the batteries would not supply that power for long and wanted to avoid the complaints in reviews?

You have temperature dominant checked for that profile you need to uncheck it.
-
It doesn't have different modes as such, you can turn off temp limiting by adjusting the temp past the max or on a profile. But if you are using Kanthal or Nichrome it will sense that an not try an temp limit anyway.

Yes the watt hours are just there for more accurate battery metre, it is similar to mobile phones and more accurate if you charge the batteries in the device. Nothing to worry about, I use 3 sets of VTC4s in my rolo, with 2 sets the metre is spot on, but with the 3rd it goes to empty a bit early. The important thin is it warns me that I should have a set ready to go in and it does that fine.
-
Klnco4 the watt hours should be 23.68 (21 or 22 would probably be more realistic) and the soft cut off & LiPo are fine, but I would get both 18650 charged to the same level then if after some usage they are a significantly different levels, charge them to the same level and swap their positions to see if it is a weak battery or 1 battery position is reporting a low battery (far less likely).

The 2 components marked in red on the middle pic? If so they are inductors and you need to send the mod/board for repair, if the vendor wont help Evolv probably will.

Variations in output voltage across different DNA200 mods I own.
VapingBad replied to MikeTheVapeDude's topic in Report a Bug
Opps I don't know how I put current limit that is the low end of res, it is the voltage limit at the high end and 0.4 ? is the max for 200 W in the spec sheet. So as some of the resistances are outside the spec for full power I imagine it is just sag, try it again with 0.3 ?. -
Default Escribe Profile for VT40

I use Ti on DNA 40s by reducing the temp 90 F, very nice it is to, better than a much newer very popular 75 W mod I have. -

Is the resistance near 0.18 ?, I'm just thinking that a small variation in the resistance reading of each mod could cause the 50 A output current limit to kick in before the output voltage limit. -
I would at least remove the front plate and have a look, it just unscrews from the battery sled, if it is something conductive it could cause a short.

Good TFR/CSV file for the Crown SS Coils

You don't need to do anything special for any coils in wattage mode, just turn of temp limiting. -
Isopropyl alcohol is good, I got 5 l from eBay for about 20GBP, no you can't drink it, it is just a good solvent for this sort of thing.
