  1. If you set your mod for max recharges on the mod tab it will only charge the batteries to 4.1 V, you will have to change options - user interface to advanced to get to the setting in the latest version. I find the Xtars charger charge to 4.17-4.19 V, I'll send a charger back if I ever see 4.25 V which is overcautions, but I think if it's doing that when it new...
  2. I doubt you will ever burn your cotton as the vapour starts to drop of so noticeable when the wick starts to dry. I can't tell at a distance what is causing your issues, but build or wire with the wrong TCR are the most likely in general. I know saying it works for me and most other people doesn't help and probably annoys you, but the boards work extremely well but they can only control the max average coil temp. You may find it easier to sort out if you use a single coil Ni200 build as that wire has the highest TCR and ther are fewer variables to deal with. Look at the watts your build settles at in device manager, if they are a lot lower that you would use for kanthal you could need more coil contact area or airflow, but some atties just vape differently. It could also be dual coils that are not well balanced, long legs or poor wicking. Good luck
  3. The 0.006 is just the default for the box you type a TCR in (close to Ni), DNAs don't use a single value TCR they use the non-linear profile you see as a line on the materials tab. If it were the default these lines would all look like this, notice how it only has data point or black vertical line. You are not going to get the same vape form different tanks or drippers with different builds just because the coils are running at the same temp. EG I find with Aromanizer RDTA using very high horizontal coils I like it about 400 F, but with Serpent Mini I have to turn the temp right up to 460+ to get much flavour and then vape is too hot. This is mainly airflow and coil placement, but coil geometry plays a part to you have to have enough surface area to be able to spread that heat. Long legs can also get hot affecting the temp reading without producing vapour. Also wicking, but I doubt you have that wrong we all know about wicking. It can be frustrating sometimes, but increasing the temp limit within reason while you figure it out in no big deal IMO. The board ensures the coils do not exceed and average temp.
  4. The Evolv 510s are the best I've used, but the top is 3 mm thick so they look best recessed, Varitube are good, I hear good things about the Cisco one, I just got a couple of StealthVapes new 510s based on the Evolv they simplified it a bit and use a cheaper spring but they seem very good and similar cost to a Varitube. Choose 1, Evolve if I had a recessed case and didn't mind the extra cost, with no recess and don't mind the cost the Cisco, otherwise I think the StealthVape will be the one.
  5. The same will apply to timer preheats, they will behave differently with different coil starting temps and in extremes can seriously overheat your coils. They are trying to make vaping as safe as possible and that just doesn't fit with that IMO.
  6. You can experiment with creating material profiles from a TRC, just increase the TCR until you get the vape you expect at the temp you expect.
  7. Looks like the width matches the board and the depth is about 1 mm less that the USB protrudes, they are a good company email or ask on facebook. I have not used these mounts myself, but know a few people that have and like them.
  8. I have not seen that before, were you previously using a very old version of EScribe, maybe try the recommended version update the fw to 2016-02-29 EScribe 1.0.42 then reinstall SP3. If you were not on a really old version try rerunning EScribe the install with the service pack option checked. These are just guesses though, let us know how you get on.
  9. I am 99% sure that it is because the charge IC does not supply that info for the main processor to capture, like the DNA 75.
  10. It when it hits a current limit the reading goes from a low number to ? as you tighten it in atty analyser, I either use 0 or 0.002 then, I have been able to measure 0.003 in the past so I like to keep lower than that.
  11. Have you tried turning the temp up, DNAs regulate very differently from SX mods, DNAs will give you a steady temp, SXs will repeatedly turn the power you set on and off to get the average temp and IME that is a lot harsher and bit hotter vape. See pBusardos recent comparison video.
  12. I reckon, it is a guess though, ? means 0.002x or less resistance, as I have measured 0.003 before.
  13. The ? normally means the res is so low that it is hitting the current limit, I get it on at the 2 DNA 200s with Evolv 510 I just checked.
  14. Power only mode, just a more obvious way for people to set it than adjusting the temp past 600 F.
  15. Upload settings also brings back the battery bar after updating the fw.
  16. That's just a missing file association and will not affect the update process. They are just a record in the Windows registry that tells it which programs can work with the file if you try to open, run or edit it directly. It doesn't prevent a program loading.
  17. Maybe you accidentally pressed fire before all 3 were fitted, I did that once on my Rolo and got the warranty message. I have only seen a handful, maybe a dozen of the over 10,000 registered members here so don't think it is common. Also with Device Monitor check that the cells are sagging evenly when you fire it, it could be one battery not making as good contact.
  18. There is a link to the fw in my footer, but it us the config file that would have the settings for you mod and I don't know if Panzer did one. I would save you current config just in case, but when you update EScribe all the existing settings should be preserved.
  19. Here are the differences in each mode compared to the previous versions Clean: no mod or research tabs and no atty analyser. Advanced: no research tab and only charge mode and Kanthal power limit on mod tab Researcher: only charge mode and Kanthal power limit on mod tab Manufacturer: same as the previous version with the Manufacturer settings on the mod tab expanded If you hold shift down in Device Manager you can get multiple measuring bars clicking on the plot area. @Comat yes it has lovely smooth ss regulation like the 75.

  21. All that "needs" setting in EScribe is battery type = LiPo and 3 cell, the other stuff just makes your battery gauge more accurate, but doesn't affect your vape or battery safety and those will be correctly set when you get it.
  22. It was with the first firmware before the 200 was released, though it was a very slow discharge that only caught mods that spent weeks in a ship circumnavigating the globe. Some manufactures sent early models out like that, but it was fixed over a year ago.
  23. If you press connect and download settings in EScribe and they are all the same you have a problem, but I would think it more likely that you are not changing profile on the mod. Hold down up & down until the msg power or temp locked comes up, then use the up & down buttons to scroll through the profiles and fire to select the one you want.
