bladedoza
I've never had this many issues with any mod. I'm pretty disappointed. I'm considering the MM510 switch but for the money I paid I feel like this mod should be perfect from top to bottom even the finish. My gloss isn't consistent looks like they put that finish on with liquid.

bladedoza
I am emailing boxer because they have no customer service phone number. I honestly think it's the non soldered positive 510 connection.

But remember: MM510 is M12 threaded and in order to fit it, I had to drill the hole 12mm in diameter and, with a dremel, make larger nut, fit on the inside. Does it read the ohms perfectly too? I think, it's because of MM510 and 14 Gauge wires that I soldered to it, instead of the set screw. Also, let's not forget about the negative connection. If you've noticed, the nut did not sink all the way into the plastic. That's because my negative soldered tab washer, that goes around the threaded part of the connector under the lock-nut is three times thicker and made out of copper. Could somebody tell me, what is the proper name for that washer? Edited May 2, 2018 by AMDtrucking
bladedoza
I think that set screw on the 510 is my issue too. Trying to communicate with ginger vaper about it.
bladedoza
Did you have to calibrate it to get it to read perfect?
AMDtrucking
Based on what I've been told by Evolv, when I had it repaired, my DNA250C board had some liquid damage to it. Well, this time, I made every precaution, that it will never happen again. My Boxer is dry as desert. But the screen went blank on me. Even though, the board still works, I can't see what it does. bladedoza
I knew what happened with your mod already. Again I'm curious if you needed to calibrate to get a perfect ohm load on the mod maker 510?

Again I'm curious if you needed to calibrate to get a perfect ohm load on the mod maker 510? Definitely "perfect ohm load". At +/-0.1 ohms a different but perfectly adequate 510 should probably read the same. At +/-0.01 you'd probably have to calibrate to be certain differences in spring tension, etc. don't throw it off. At +/-0.001 there may even be differences based on exactly how it was soldiered. At +/-0.0001, whether you had your cell phone in the room or not might make a difference. Personally, I calibrate every new mod to a known reference standard (that was, in turn, calibrated to the 0.001 level). I feel anything +/-0.003 or better is as good as I'm going to get.
bladedoza
His coils are know to him to be 0.1 I'm asking if it read 0.1 without any calibrations. Thanks for trying to help but this is a question for amdtrucking.
bladedoza
I guess replacing my grub screw voided my warranties or so boxer said. If you scroll back into this post you'll see where ginger said that AMDtrucking taking his whole mod completly apart was fine and they stood behind there product. His replacement 510 is working great. The ginger vapor 510 doesnt work right for me in either mod and for some other people besides me obviously. Apparently this customer service really is trash. I paid for a premium product and that's what I expect. So I guess this is turning into another dont buy boxer mods rant. I've purchased almost 2k$ in mods from them. First mods I have problems with they basicly tell me they arnt backing up the product after telling someone else taking it fully apart that they are ok. Apparantly I'm a trouble maker for wanting my 250$ mod to work right. Better buisness bureau is going to love this. bladedoza
Yeah that's what I'd expect from a good 510. It being so close that I cant barely tell theres any Internal resistance.
AMDtrucking
Since my display quit working this morning, I ran Device Monitor in Debugging mode, looking at "Screen" monitor, but I'm not sure what to expect from it. It looks like this. Note: The batteries are removed. It's an old habit of mine. I don't USB charge DNA and I remove batteries when connect to Escribe. I had unfortunate experience in the past with DNA200.
bladedoza
Filed my complaint with the BBB. Looks like they are based in Florida as well as ginger vaper. Edited May 3, 2018 by bladedoza
bladedoza
My next question for you AMDtrucking is can you tell me what mod maker parts you needed to do the mod maker 510 conversion. I'm going to do the swap unless the BBB can get ginger vapor to get these mods running perfectly. The 510 set screw adapter is trash on both of mine. Ohms different on two identical devices with the same atty isnt a good mod, neither mod reads as it should. But they kept telling me that the ginger vapor 510 is perfect up untill they marked my email adress as spam....... sandboa
Think I'm going to try thread locking that plastic threaded insulator piece in to stop the leaking and solder the wire directly to the positive pin to reduce resistance (bladedoza isn't the only one having resistance issues). If that doesn't solve the problem, will do the MM510 switch.

Ginger vaper has horable customer service. I hope the BBB gets me a full refund. I'll link this thread to the BBB if need be too Edited May 3, 2018 by bladedoza

GHammer
I'm sorry to hear all the problems. I'm VERY happy I didn't pull the trigger on a Boxer or Rebel.

I hope they will not deny my second RMA in two weeks time frame. As for Ginger Vaper, I'm not going to bother writing them. In Evolv we trust! sandboa
This is my first time dealing with Ginger Vaper. Will never do business with them ever again. Will also be sharing my experience and advising others not to deal with them. It's a shame because Teemu Kangas case designs are great. Unfortunately, you have to pay for Ginger Vaper's shit ass parts to be poorly installed to get this case design. Wish I could just buy the case and properly install good parts myself. No point in sending mine back to Ginger Vaper a second time as it will just come back with the same faulty parts. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
