  1. What would be interesting to know is at the balance connection on the DNA. What pin 1, 2, and 3 reads in respect to ground. 1 should read the voltage of cell 1. 2 should read the total of cell 1 and cell 2. And 3 since this is a two cell DNA should read the same as pin 2. But I assume you have it all back together. So I would just wait until you had it apart again. UPDATE: Oh VapingBad was replying too and I didn't see it until after I posted.
  2. You are probably using more lipos than you thought. I have them in cellphones, MP3 players, radios, meters, digital cameras, RC vehicles, etc. But I just like the convenience of 18650s better.
  3. My two HCigar VT133 have white screens and my two Reuleaux DNA200 have blue screens. The blue screens seems brighter. I have the charging screen on all of them set dimly. The blue ones are still viewable at 30% brightness, while the white ones needs 40% to be viewable.
  4. Me too. But a bad output of one board doesn't necessarily mean that the input side of the other board (DNA board) isn't loading the output (Protection board).

  7. I have one cable that came with my cheap cell phone and I used it for everything. Then I got the shock when I connected up a DNA200 to it. The damn cable only carries 120ma max. They probably designed it that way, since the plug has to reach deep inside to plug in, that is the only USB cable that can reach it. But back to your problem. I haven't seen it yet, but I am sure some of us are going to try if we can get the same thing to happen. I have all of mine charged up so I have to vape a lot on one to start testing.
  8. Oh I just saw your second post. I wish I had a dime for every USB cable that suddenly went bad on me. Some lasts decades and some works for a few times and then die. Luckily they are cheap enough to toss out and replace them. Careful, some don't have the data lines connected and are only useful for power. I wish they would color code them or something.
  9. Wow! I have four DNA200s and I never seen this. But then again, I can't recall ever trying this either.
  10. Yup it sure does VapingBad. Say jtdien, here is something easy to try. While connected to EScribe, go to the Mod tab and change the battery type to Power Supply. It warns you don't select for batteries and blah-blah. Then upload to device. Now the DNA200 could careless what the individual cell voltages are. It also won't charge the cells when connected to the USB port either. But we don't care about all this, it should now work (if it is what it looks like). I tried it here and both of my VT133 the two batteries are over 4v and it works fine. That means the DNA200 is only getting 8v and both of mine are working selecting the power supply. I wouldn't fire any coil over 10 watts or so, because that is all I tested mine up to.

  12. Yes, I can see it is labeled as GND, 1, 2, 3. Pin 1 should go to the positive of cell 1 and 2 plus 3 should go to the positive of cell 2. You can ohm it to see if it does. Something looks funny from here on the reverse protection traces. Could be nothing, hard to tell.
  13. Oh that shows cell#1 as 0v, cell#2 as 5.26v, cell#3 as 1.26v. Something seems wrong on the balance connections. Pin 1 should go to the positive of cell 1 and pin 2 should go to the positive of cell 2 (plus pin 3 and B+ should go there too). The VT133 might be wired non-standard because of the reverse protection. Your watt hours is set on 22.2Wh. That sounds way high. I would think it should be around 14 to 18 range. This only controls the battery meter accuracy and not part of the problem.

  15. Got my second VT133 in the vapemail and it reads the same except cell #3 reads 0.01v all of the time. That is what I would expect my other one to read too. Also this one has a much higher serial number and the inside cover is painted inside (but it is also a solid black VT133).
  16. Oh the Reuleaux RX200 doesn't work with EScribe software. You need UpdateWismec.exe from the Wismec website to do firmware updates.

  18. You started two identical threads, I guess I'll post in this one. I too have one of these (and another one coming in vapemail today). But those are weird cell readings. The VT133 also has a reverse polarity PCB too, which most DNA200 mods doesn't have. I don't know what is all on that PCB, I am guessing a FET. What Device Monitor says my cells are; 1 = 4.10v, 2 = 4.10v, and 3 = 0.63 to 1.02v. If there is anything else you want me to check just ask.
  19. Are you using a Mac or Windows? And did you try to reboot the computer?
  20. Oh I just checked the Evolv EScribe manual to make sure I have everything right. And it is on the last page of mine and it also adds you must be connected to the Evolv server to perform this action.
  21. Well that 2.6v and 3.8v shouldn't be a problem. That 0.1v... well open up Escribe, connect to the Device Monitor. And see that Diagnostic button, Advanced, and then Perform USB Recovery Charging. Keep an eye on it for 10 minutes max and if the voltage doesn't come up to say 2.5v in that time, just disconnected the USB. And I wouldn't try anymore with that battery.
  22. Did you check the fuse near the battery connections on the underside? You can't always tell without an ohmmeter.
  23. No it is doable. I think the thing is people have a problem of wrapping their head around by going bigger when something more pocket friendly would do the job too. About two years ago someone online know I was vaping an ejuice that they were interested in. It was a menthol watermelon I think. And they wanted to know if the watermelon or the menthol was stronger at 50 watts. My highest wattage mod back then was only 20 watts. So I used my variable power supply to power a coil I made for my RDA and ran the voltage and amps until they both multiplied to 50. Which is 50 watts. And I had taken a vape. It worked and vaped fine. But my leads were only 18g, 12 inches, 10v, 5A. And I believe those leads were a bit thin for the job. And you want to push 10 times more amps than I did.
  24. The DNA depends on the watt hours value put into EScribe. If the DNA doesn't know the true watt hours on the batteries, it won't get the percentage accurately. It is probably sitting at the default.
  25. Evolv can't do VV. As I believe Joyetech/Wismec holds that patent. And Evolv is suing Joyetech/Wismec for using Evolv's VW patent.
