  1. So with just the balance connector connected, how does the DNA act? Does it read the pack voltage too? Does it fire? I won't fire with any amount of watts, just something low like 1 watt. I don't know how many watts you can safely draw off of the balance connector.I didn't try to fire it with only the balance connector on but as I posted earlier pack voltage was there but the cell voltages while adding up to the pack were unbalanced. Checked with a meter though they were balanced. I'll try again when I actually get up.
  2. Oh yes, well the only 3S lipos I have are the DX200 ones.
  3. No I didn't disconnect the USB. If you did, it disconnects from EScribe. And the DX200 you really can't just disconnect the balance connector alone very well without making a test cable or disassembly.
  4. My Hotcig DX200 v2 shows the following when I unplug my lipo. Pack: 2.91v Cell 1: 0.01v Cell 2: 1.35v Cell 3: 1.56v With a low lipo it reads: Pack: 11.23v Cell 1: 3.75v Cell 2: 3.75v Cell 3: 3.74v
  5. And to add to dwcraig1's suggestion, unplug it from the USB when you disconnect the battery. As with the USB plugged in, it still gets power and removing the batteries for a bit will not reset the DNA200.
  6. Oh CB... you mean you don't trust reverse polarity protection on battery chargers?
  7. Titanium and stainless will change resistance due to temperature fluctuations. If you are checking with EScribe's Atomizer Analyzer, it warms the wire up a bit.
  8. I never replaced a DNA200 fuse yet, but I mostly use a desoldering pump (aka solder sucker) to remove solder and the component (you need to clean inside of them a lot). Never cared much for soldering wick which wicks solder up into the braid of flat wire. I'll use it if I have too. But my favorite for removing solder is a vacuum desoldering station. Oh I wouldn't buy one of those cheap soldering irons with a rubber ball that is suppose to vacuum up solder. Those just gets you frustrated more than anything else.
  9. FullyMax Pack 2 (red) Charged at 11.1v @ 1A 63 minutes finished charging, reported capacity is 903mah. Cell 1 = 4.17v Cell 2 = 4.19v Cell 3 = 4.17v Pack = 12.52v
  10. What is your mod resistance set at? Ever run the Case Analyzer on it?
  11. That low cell 3 bothered me so I charged it individually to v3.47v, discharged it some. And it settled to 3.44v. Waited 30 minutes and it stayed right there. FullyMax Pack 1 Charged at 11.1v @ 2.5A 10 minutes to build up to 2.5A 23 minutes started dropping from 2.5A 30 minutes finished charging, reported capacity is 912mah. Cell 1 = 4.20v Cell 2 = 4.20v Cell 3 = 4.21v Pack = 12.61v
  12. Cell 1 = 3.41v Cell 2 = 3.40v Cell 3 = 3.31v Pack = 10.12v
  13. Yes that is correct. Since I had the cell cutoff at 3.05v, I had to stop since I couldn't vape anymore. It is just sitting right now. Cell 1 = 3.36v Cell 2 = 3.35v Cell 3 = 3.23v Pack = 9.94v That is reading it unloaded at the balance connector on the battery. But as it sits it has been creeping up a bit. I'll check it again in the morning.
  14. Here is a manual I wrote that might also help you out. This shows you what you can do without EScribe. DNA200 OPERATIONAL MANUAL MAIN Up/Down (5 sec) lock wattage or temp (Temp-Dominant dependent) Up/Down (5 sec) then twice Up (or Down) to change Profile LOCK (5 clicks) Up/Down (5 sec) adjusts temp or wattage (Temp-Dominant dependent) Fire/Up (5 sec) lock ohms Fire/Dn (5 sec) Stealth/Normal Fire/UD (5 sec) Change Material
  15. Most DNA200 are setup for Ni200 TC. The Reuleaux DNA200, the two I got had all eight profiles setup for Ni200 running in TC. You don't have to use EScribe at all to use wattage mode (like Kanthal). The DNA200 like all mods I know about will kick out of TC mode with Kanthal, Nichrome, and other non-TC material. So you can use it that way if you want. Or you can click 5 times to lock it. Then hold the plus and minus keys at the same time for a few seconds and it will popup the temperature. Now hold the plus down until it maxes out. Let up on the key and tap it down once more. Now it displays OFF. That means temperature mode is now off. Press the fire button five times to unlock and there you go. Adjust the wattage to your liking. Enjoy.
  16. Wow no dedicated thread for the FullyMax FB900HP-3S? Ok I just created one. I've been experimenting with one when I recently purchased a red Hotcig DX200. They say it contains a FullyMax anyway. And once you get down to about 3.74v per cell, it starts to drop very fast. I had one about at that voltage and I put it on one of my 15 year old RC charger that charges slowly at first and takes like 10 minutes to build up to the current you set it to. Anyway I selected a 11.1v @ 2.5A lipo and pushed start. I was constantly checking for any heat during the charging and it stayed at room temperature the whole time. It finished at 12.6v and it put in 588mah in 23 minutes. Wow, impressive. Vaped it down to 3.05v per cell and I'll recharge it in the morning with a freshly brewed coffee and a nice vape. So I can keep a close eye on it and see how much it stores and how long it takes. I'll do the same to another one to check for variations. Then I'll check them through a number of cycles to see how well they perform. Stay tuned.
  17. The FullyMax FB900HP-3S is an 11.1V Lipo pack for use with the DNA 200. It comes with a JST-XH balance plug and 18 AWG power cables (no connector). Evolv used this battery in the DNA 200 beta mods and it performed well. Voltage: 11.1VDC Capacity: 900mAh (10Wh) FullyMax model: FB900HP-3S Dimensions (mm): 19.8 x 26 x 70 Max Cont. Discharge: 30C (27.0A) Max Burst (3 Sec.): 60C (54.0A)
  18. You mean like this one? They only cost like 65 bucks on eBay (shipped from China). I had one, but it disappeared. Maybe someone decided they needed it more than I did. Anyway getting down to 10 micro-ohms things really does get hairy.
  19. And along the same lines of thought, the battery taps for the balance connection shouldn't really matter if one wire is a few CM longer or shorter than another. But Evolv recommends they all be exactly the same length. Pretty hard to do with 18650s in series in a sled. Along the same logic as Evolv, I think the ground and the positive should also be the same length for the very same reasons. Sure you don't have to, but doing so should be less problematic. After all, any measurable resistance is going to have a measurable effect at 11.1v at 23A. Newton's Third Law of Motion For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
  20. Just to add to awsum140's fine comment... some companies working in the electric automobile business has lithium batteries lasting up to 2000 recharges now. Then there was that story about an university who discovered a recipe to build lithiums that last a lifetime. No word on when they will become available.
  21. Now look at the Hotcig... the problem cleared up.
  22. Oh yes, you vape by wattage dominance. While I vape by temperature dominance. And if I vape MTL with something like a Subtank or Crown, 20 watts is twice as much wattage you really need. But it also works like preheat being twice as high. Although moving to an RDA like a Mad Hatter v2, you need at least 25 watts to hit temperature so setting it to 50 watts works the same way.
