  1. Right, that's the easy way. I wanted to do that in the first place. But if it was possible to keep that gage and have it display 100%, I would prefer that. I guess not. There. The battery field is gone.
  2. I apologized for my typo's. The word MAST, should be read as MUST and CRESS, as CROSS. It's too late to edit it. Could anyone suggest, how to wire it properly, for Power Supply 12V, in such way that the battery indicator, won't show 1% charge all the time?
  3. Being a truck driver, I always wanted a squonk mod with more juice capacity and endless supply of battery source... The bottle compartment has to be completely insulated from PCB. The PCB, as well as MM510 connector, have to be screw onto the aluminum body of the mod, for reliable connection. 14 gauge AWG silicon wires have to be used to lower the internal resistance of the mod. Ended up making one myself. It is DNA250C mod and it has squonk bottle of 30 milliliters and powered by my truck batteries. I still need to work on the finish, right now the finish is of my lathe and mill. But it is functional, I'm testing it with 3S LiPo 40C. I've got to work on the Theme setting and get rid of the battery indicator, because it shows 1% all the time. In Escribe - Mod - Battery, I chose "Power Supply - 12V". I'm not using the board's balancing terminals, because I don't intend to charge my truck batteries via USB. I don't know why, but I drilled Ø1.0mm hole in front of the LED 😉 I keep my vaping gear in the cup holder, so my mod mast be able to stand, that's why I made power connector on the side of the mod. The sought of hanging it, like the truckers CB microphone, did cress my mind.
  4. OK. No problems. Because the DNA250C board is longer on the bottom, I milled (with Dremel) a small cavity in the bottom of the case. Also, nonexistent "SELECT" middle button has a hole in it. I filled it up with a little white delrin plug. I made that photo for my Russian friends and marked it in Russian. But I'm sure, you'll understand. Карман - cavity, Заглушка - plug. Also, DNA250C has one of it's inductive transformers offset to one side, you will need to cut a hole for it in the plastic cover. Окно - hole in this case. And I'm sure you know how to solder jumpers, on the board, to make it work properly, with two batteries.
  5. It wasn't hard. It did require few adjustments though. But I didn't use anything except Dremel and X-acto knife to cut plastic.
  6. I didn't try that. But I installed Evolv DNA250C board in SXK Boxer Clone. I also have an original Ginger Vaper Boxer DNA250C, but this one came out better.
  7. I did, but the wattage, is still 75W maximum. There must be a way to dump US firmware and install International one.
  8. @James, if the board was purchased in the US and intended to be used in Russia. How could I switch firmware from US to International version to get 100W for DNA75 Color?
  9. Update: I was out of town, when my display went blank. I wasn't going to bother Evolv Customer Service with this problem, I was going to just purchase a new display. BUT, to my pleasant surprise, there was one waiting for me in my mailbox. THANK YOU Evolv!!!
  10. I'm not sure I understand the previous post, but my screen went blank too.
  11. I'm assuming that you are referring to a case design of the Boxer? I agree, it is a good design, as far as achieving smaller overall size trying to fit two big batteries and everything else. However, IMHO, it is NOT that good, when you are building a squonker though. There is a huge opening, right in the area, where tube is attached to the 510 connector. That opening is the "gate" for spilled liquid to flood the board. Granted, DNA boards are somewhat protected by clear coating. But as my last experience showed, DNA250C are very vulnerable to liquid spills. What I'm going to do next, if Evolv replaces my board, I'm going to take RTV Silicon and hermetically seal that opening. I haven't done it yet.
  12. Me too. And as far as I know, displays are NOT covered by warranty at Evolv. I hope they will not deny my second RMA in two weeks time frame. As for Ginger Vaper, I'm not going to bother writing them. In Evolv we trust!
  13. How come every body ignored my display issue?
  14. 1) You need MM510 connector: http://www.modmaker.co.uk/MM510-Squonker-Connector 2) 22mm plate. (Not required) http://www.modmaker.co.uk/MM510-Stainless-Steel-Flat-Washer-22mm 3) Installation tool (Not Required) http://www.modmaker.co.uk/510-Connectors/510-Tightening-Kit
  15. Since my display quit working this morning, I ran Device Monitor in Debugging mode, looking at "Screen" monitor, but I'm not sure what to expect from it. It looks like this. Note: The batteries are removed. It's an old habit of mine. I don't USB charge DNA and I remove batteries when connect to Escribe. I had unfortunate experience in the past with DNA200.
  16. You mean when I still had display working? Yes, I used a short plug to measure IR of 0.006 Ohms.
  17. Based on what I've been told by Evolv, when I had it repaired, my DNA250C board had some liquid damage to it. Well, this time, I made every precaution, that it will never happen again. My Boxer is dry as desert. But the screen went blank on me. Even though, the board still works, I can't see what it does.
  18. Right on the dot 0.1 Ohm. I think, it's because of MM510 and 14 Gauge wires that I soldered to it, instead of the set screw. Also, let's not forget about the negative connection. If you've noticed, the nut did not sink all the way into the plastic. That's because my negative soldered tab washer, that goes around the threaded part of the connector under the lock-nut is three times thicker and made out of copper. Could somebody tell me, what is the proper name for that washer?
  19. It's great, I've been using MM510 for years, they never disappointed me. But remember: MM510 is M12 threaded and in order to fit it, I had to drill the hole 12mm in diameter and, with a dremel, make larger nut, fit on the inside.
  20. @mactavish, Funny you mentioned it, but that same thought, went through my head, as I was writing my previous post. The only difference is Tesla Model-3 is $30,00.00 plus and Therion is $100.00.
  21. That makes two of us. I bought my Therion 75C, based just on what Brandon had to say in his interview with Daniel DJLsb. Even before I received my Boxer DNA250C. Now, that I'm enjoying my Replay in 250C, I want Replay in 75C even more!
  22. Evolv, it's mid-April (end of April actually), where is the new DNA75C firmware with REPLAY mode? I enjoy using it on my DNA250C and I want it on my DNA75C please. You are not going to make us wait for as long as we waited for the MAC version of Escribe, are you?
  23. But I replaced it anyway, with MM510 because I don't like this brass positive connection with set screw and I have future plans on offsetting the bottle tube to be able to use taller bottle. I also used 14 gauge silicon wires, instead of original 16 gauge.
  24. My Boxer is back from Evolv. Thanks Nick! I pressure tested 510 connector and it does NOT leak. I used 510 refill bottle filled with coffee. The other end of the tube is blocked. I squeezed the bottle pretty hard, as you can see, some of the coffee was pushed into the tube, compressing the air, behind it. Bot NOT A SINGLE DROP was spilled by the connector. Good job Ginger Vaper!
  25. @LeeWB3, You keep saying "In my video" but did not provide the link to your video. I am interested to see it.
