uberbdon
First post here, hello I decided to create a custom profile for my dual coil Limitless Plus which I have set up with a set of paralel SS316L coils. I created a profile on steam engine and the CSV came out as this:
"Temperature (degF)","Electrical Resistivity"-58,0.92306468,1212,1.08302,1.126392,1.168482,1.207572,1.246800,1.3369666667
I created a profile using that CSV and when I select it on my mod (Los Vape Triade), it shows degrees, but it also shows volts on the main display. I have temperature mode set up to show watts and degrees, not volts. There appears to be no temperature control used at all when I use this profile. It just burns and burns, no temp limiting at all.I have some screenshots of my settings in Escribe and am hoping someone can identify what's going wrong. Thanks in advance! If any other information is needed just let me know.
retird
The device is not seeing your coil as a TC type coil. It is vaping in power mode and in power mode while running it is set to display volts. What type of material are you using to build your coil and what type coil are you building (standard, clapton, fused, etc.)? uberbdon
I figured it wasn't detecting it as a temp. coil. Here is a picture of my steam engine setup:

VapingBad
There is no need to make a profile for that wire or any single metal construction, you just get the standard 316L/Elite profile and I would just use the in built 316 profile for 316 & 316L, the L (low carbon) makes almost no difference.Profile in OP
"Temperature (degF)","Electrical Resistivity"-58,0.92306468,1212,1.08302,1.126392,1.168482,1.207572,1.246800,1.3369666667
Standard SE 316L/Elite profile
"Temperature (degF)","Electrical Resistivity"-58,0.92306468,1212,1.08302,1.126392,1.168482,1.207572,1.246800,1.3369666667
Evolv 316 profile
"Temperature (degF)","Electrical Resistivity"-100,0.8937021493911740,0.95631814002990770,1200,1.07169163227081400,1.17003667354584600,1.25565493106842800,1.33229231834412
The board needs to see the coil raise temp 185 F in the first 2 seconds, try increasing your preheat. retird
Can you post a Device Monitor screenshot showing Power, Power Set, Temperature, Temperature Set, Cold and Live ohms? Each coil you have is almost 0.8 ohm's?Have you tried using a default profile for SS316L?

I still don't understand why it's not sensing the temperature though.

You have Temp Dominant checked in your profile thus Temp is displayed.

VapingBad
I think retird meant a pic while you are vaping and it not doing what you expected.

VapingBad
uberbdon said:But with the same pre-heat settings for the default 316 profile it works just fineBut I think you probably have a larger coil now which will take longer to get up to temperature. The material profile stays the same for a type of metal, but you may want to vary preheat for different builds, tanks or even flavours, it is far more a personal preference thing as long as you coil get up to temp fast enough. retird
If your coils are contact coils try spacing them also... 15 wraps per coil is a lot of wraps.

When I get a chance today I'll rebuild it and not do contact coils Thanks for the help guys!

Wayneo
How can you be at a loss. Your first Device Monitor shot showed you were in Profile 3, your second (which matches with your profile setting 5) shows it works.Edit: excellent screen captures. Makes helping so much quicker.Beautiful solid TC you got there
Viruk
I like contact coils with SS, just make sure you dry burn it before wicking and work out any hotspots if you're using contact coils.
