  1. Try plugging the mod into Escribe and checking with device monitor all the battery cells are over 3 V. It may charge via the USB, but if not there is a recovery charge option in device monitor.
  2. Quad 0.2 mm around 0.3 mm Ni200 claptons will easy do 200 W airflow permitting, had duals (7 over 6 wraps on an 3.2 mm former) running at 100 W and could get them under 400 F at full power.
  3. I don't think it is much, there is a thread where I requested to be able to set the charge voltage somewhere here that has some more detail. ETA /topic/66189-topic/ About 80% capacity for double the battery life Batt Uni says 86% http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries
  4. Max charge cycles will charge to 4.1 V per cell probably doubling the life of your battery Max puff will charge to 4.2 V per cell using the full capacity of your battery I mainly use max charge cycles and it has be great, but I don't display the %. I wouldn't worry about 1 % if the cells are all showing as 4.2 V in device monitor, you could probably get rid of it by reducing the battery Wh a little or if it's new it may take a few cycles to catch up.
  5. I wouldn't lock the ohms myself especially if it is not vaping as you want. Either the cold ohms have changed, the coil resistance has changed or there is a connection problem. I would connect it to Escribe and watch atty analyser while it is sitting idle both cool and warm to check the raw ohms are not going up and down, if they are stable are the cold ohms what you would expect, it is worth checking that tightening has not cut through the wire and that the loops are not shorting between each other, you could space them to make sure.
  6. Yes cold ohms on the screen and as James said that includes the mod's internal resistance if set (also part of what refinement does is to work out a resiatance offset for the mod & atty). IIRC on hte DNA40 the refinement kicks in about 5 mins into idle and continues for up to 55 mins, but Evolv have been working on refinement a lot so it has probably changed so I could not be definite about any of the details. Not sure about freezing it that may be going too far I don't know, maybe put it in front of the air con in a car would be better. Is the difference btw the 0.261 (Nominal-Temp) value and the 0.251 (Cold Ohm) because you have mod resistance set to 0.01 ohm? or maybe refinement has worked that out, but from James post it should be the mod resistance.
  7. They use the temp sensor on the board and track changes in temp against changes in coil res while it in idle and cooling to refine the cold res and probably use the board temp with the data from the thermal on the case as the temperature of a new coil and not just assume 70 F.
  8. If it thinks that it is not full after it should be you could try and reduce the Wh a little on the mod tab.
  9. Have you got a resistor on top, not a normal coil, see /topic/67481-topic/
  10. Looks fully charges with each cell at 4.2 V, it would have charged faster from a 1A supply btw and if you press fire during charging it pauses charging and shows the standard screen.
  11. No not just an atty, see this thread /topic/67481-topic/
  12. There is a thread about this, IIRC it is OK, but may cause the battery meter to be wrong.
  13. Why do you change the cut off? It is the voltage under load so it will always be higher than that at rest. If for battery life then the max recharges setting would serve you better IMO.
  14. Yep and I would expect all batteries too be slightly under their rating as the cut off on the DNA will be a higher than their capacity test. You can just not the total between charges rather than resetting if you prefer. BTW at 40 W 380-400 F a 900 mAh lasts me more than a day vaping 10 ml of liquid.
  15. I agree with Mad Scientist and would contact the vendor.
  16. Ni200 is already there, you just add others to a profile in Escribe as a custom wire type
  17. That's it, the top pic you can see the tracks coming from the balance socket and that outer/top resistor one could be the problem. BTW looks like a stray strand of copper on the black balance wire in top pic I would trim IIWU, although it is only ground so shouldn't be a problem.
  18. Check the 4 resistors near the USB socket undamaged
  19. Thanks James that is very interesting. Maybe it is just semantics and context, but I think most people understand it as two distinct modes. While your post doesn't conflict with what Brandon said here you see the confusion that even though there is not a distinct temp mode in code (but there will be conditionals) there are 2 modes of behaviour from the users perspective.
  20. You will be able to get screens again, don't know when, but then the 2nd hand DNA40 can go in a mod.
  21. Ni200, you can take full advantage of the temp limited pre-heat. Maybe tipple strand twisted, I like ribbon on gennies, Claptons are east to make I know you don't like them, but you should be able to make most fancy coils with just Ni200.
  22. The DNA40 large screen will work, but their is a global shortage of OLED screens ATM and it is apparently affecting most eCig manufactures. Sorry, to be the bearer of bad new.
  23. Very good point Blueridgedog, it would make it worse as once pre-heat is done the watts will never exceed the max significantly as I understand it.
  24. It only has reverse battery protection in that it was designed to be used with batteries that can only be connected in the correct polarity. This feature comes from user requests and we need to remember that the board is a component that should only be installed within it's spec like any other electronic component. They are working on a board to provide protection for this configuration and 3 x 18650 configuration. If you made battery packs from 18 series batteries with polarised socket (they should be kept together as a set anyway) you would have reverse protection. If wired correctly and the battery set properly in Escribe you still have all the monitoring and charging goodness that 3S LiPos have.
