Wismec Reuleaux - Device won't start - Battery bay problem

Hi, my reuleaux won't start up when i switch to my 2nd set of batteries. The 3rd battery bay has a problem (when you remove the battery cover the inner left battery is cell 1, the middle battery is cell 2, and the inner right battery is cell 3). The battery installed there keeps giving me 0.85v while the rest of the cells are above 3v.

It only turns on when connected to usb but doesn't charge or anything.

I tried switching the batteries around but whatever battery goes in cell 3 it reads low around 0.85v.

Anyway i could fix this bay?

Pictures attached. The positive right connection piece seems to be lower than the left one.1.jpg 2.jpg

There is a white foam plug in the battery bay covering the ground connection from the batter cradle to the board you could try and give the screw a tweak, don't over tighten.  It is also one of the connections for the balance connectors for cell 1 so there is more than a good chance it is your problem.

I had a connection problem with a few batteries, i just simply filed down the plastic cup on the positive side. only needed a little bit maybe took a 1/4 of it off and now all batteries work no matter what position they are in.

worth a try if your battery is still good

Thanks for your reply, my batteries are Brand new and that's why i would like to have a solution than buy 6 more.

I didn't quiet understand what you meant by file down the cup on the positive side; how do i take 1/4 off of it?

Could you elaborate? Thanks!

The plastic ring around the brass coloured contact on the positive contacts could prevent some batteries making a good connection.

Oh ok, i'll see if i can find a way to do that, not sure what to do it with though :) I also fear i'd ruin the device.

I just use a small file for most of it, then i used an Emory board (wifes nail file) to get into the harder places, it may not take much and may only need to do it to the cell area thats causing the problem

Great thanks :) i'll look around and i'll keep it as a last resort and will post here :)

 • 2 weeks later...

If my other set didn't work at all i'd lower the deck for the positive but because my other set makes a connection i think it's just the bad efest  3000

Batteries only LG HG2 or Sony VTC5 :D
Efast there is no specification of the battery is not a company that produces batteries

Yes i read this article and sadly, i unwrapped my 3 set batteries (efest 3000mah) to find that they have 4 legs on the positive side. I had already bought wraps in case any battery had wrapping issues and re-wrapped all 3 batteries and they work instantly when inserted into the device.

I also did the escribe battery analyzer, it took a while but turns out that the 3 efest 3000mah (4 legs) are at 28 watt hours after the test. so i set it to that value. the only scary thing was that after i did the battery analyzer the device was so damn hot as well as the batteries and i had to cautiously open the cover and remove the batteries.

I have another set of efest 3000mah but with 3 legs on the positive post.
I'm going to do a battery analyzer on those as well today to see how they perform.

will update this post with the result.

Update: My other 3 efest 3000mah batteries with 3 legs are at 27.5 w/h after battery analyzer test.

Open Escribe, go to the "mod" tab, click on the last option in the mod page, the rest of the page will open; click battery analyzer. I advise not setting the power to 40w as they advise because if the batteries are bad the device will be toooo hot as happened with me.
Unless you know you're batteries are good and they are not efese then 40w is ok :)
Good luck and be cautious. if it got too hot use a fan directed at the device while the test is taking place. it's a long test that will discharge battery to zero.
do not just throw a tank or any atomizer on and run battery analyzer that's asking for trouble. here read this thread first before attempting to run it. hang on let me find.

I used an RDA, just coils on it.
When i read things like this, my own fear of blowing my batteries up lowers drastically... Oh let me just run my 10a efest batteries dry through this coiled rda... jesus christ.
