greezmky
I purchased an Hcigar vt200 back in October, It crapped out on me in November (screen would not come on, nothing) Retailer said it was the battery. Contacted board manufacturer and they did an RMA. Had to do a battery recovery and all was well, until last night when I noticed that it had not charged in spite of it being on the charger over night. Now I am stuck with a broken mod once again.?Current situation: Screen comes on battery indicator does not show bolt (indicating charging)Screen comes on without battery and is NOT dim (when plugged into computer)Shows up in escribePack : 4.88 Vcell 1: 1.64 Vcell 2: 1.58 Vcell 3: 1.66 V battery had more charge but lost charge while plugged into wall charger (1A eleaf)Charge: 0.000whUSB Power: 0.079WUSB Current: 0.015AUSB Voltage: 4.814VI inspected the board visually because I read there was at least one issues with smt resistors falling off near the USB connector, but all is well on my board. I tried battery recovery twice with no luck. I checked for anything else that looked burnt or missing with no luck. I tested the resistance of the four resistors to the right of the USB connector and got about 104 ohms each and the one single resistor to the left ohmed out at 5kI am concerned that Evolv will not RMA again in such a short time is there anything else I can check? Spector NS5 RD
have you tried a new battery? sounds like a crap battery. if you tried a bunch of usb recoveries and still no luck, it's probably a safe bet to try another lipo. that's what i would do. my two pesos. all of this is on the assumption your solder joints are 100% on the jst-xh and the mains. black lace
Your battery is way below what it should be, i wouldnt go poking around on your board with a tester, you may bugger somthing els up, asume it works, because you said it was fine to start with, only test your battery with the multi tester, get your own battery a good quality one from say hobby king, to evolv recomendations aprox 25c constant 50c burst, without looking it up, am on mobile, no point in asking the builder of the mod for a battery you allready know there bad. Its allways going to be swings and rounderbouts, if you build your own mods you save nothing, only that you have the best components, if you buy a ready made mod its going to have some cheap bits on it, to make the money,,,
greezmky
If I can get my hands on another battery I will try it. What bothers me is that it was working fine and it charged for two weeks just fine. The voltages were all where they needed to be prior to draining down and it still would not charge. I did not solder the battery connector on, Evolv did when I sent in the old board because I did not desolder it.
Spector NS5 RD
i've had batteries lipo and 18650 alike work fine for a day or week then all it takes is one deep discharge (below 2.5 volts) and it's garbage. or they're just bottom bin and wouldn't of lasted long anyway. it happens.there are a bunch of sites that sell the vt200 replacement battery. www.myvaporstore.com being one of em. GripDis
I am actually having the same problem with a different device thoughI get no charge symbol but connects through escribe
BillW50
@GripDis: What does the Device Monitor say about the pack, cell 1, 2, and 3 voltages say?
greezmky
Screen comes on battery indicator does not show bolt (indicating charging) I set my charging screen to show each cell, just to see if maybe it was aware that the usb was plugged in. I see all 3 cell voltages when the usb is plugged in but no bolt (I Did turn charge brightness up 100% still no bolt and still the drain while on the charger)I tried numerous different usb cables and chargers. Plugged it in today to see what would happen and after 8hrs each cell is at 3.7 volts. Numbers below are after 3hrs of messing around in escribe trying to get it to work. It seems to me that it is just plain obvious there is an issue with the board, like others have had??I did not do the recovery because my cells are not low on voltage or unbalanced. With that being said it is my understanding that it will do nothing for me and I was afraid it could damage the pack. Shows up in escribePack : 11.45 Vcell 1: 3.82 Vcell 2: 3.82 Vcell 3: 3.82 VCharge: 6.941whUSB Power: 0.053WUSB Current: 0.011AUSB Voltage: 4.810V
BillW50
You know if one of my DNA200 was acting just like yours, The first thing I would check to see what battery type EScribe says it is configured for (Mod tab, Manufacture Settings, Battery Type -> Lithium Polymer). greezmky
One of the first things I did actually, thank you though.
BillW50
I can't think of anything else to try except try (save your device configuration first to the drive before continuing):1) Tools -> Reboot Device -> Soft reboot2) Tools -> Reboot Device -> Hard reboot3) Tools -> Update FirmwareTry each of the above and check to see if it is now charging (if you didn't already). And what firmware version are you running on your HCigar VT200 anyway?
greezmky
Did that as well. I emailed evolved and we will have to see
