Soft / Hard reboot command issues

It is not meant to, you need to restore defaults in EScribe for the, I think the confusion is that Hard just doesn't save what you have changed on the mod singe the last sleep cycle which is when the DNA 200 saves it's settings whereas Soft does save these before restarting.

i have the same problem... any what i do... i become the message "Hard/Soft Reboot command issued...

i reset the Box with all settings... reinstall EScribe... load the new SP again...

all other settings works... but all TC mode's have a "bug"??? i set the Temp to 220C° (i'm German) but... i Fire an the Box change from 220C° to OFF...


i need to cry :((((

can anyone help me?

M4ddoxX it going OFF in temp mods is the board not seeing the coil temp raise 185 F in the first 2 seconds.  This can be a few things, not enough power for you coil (preheat is  not active at this point), locking the cold res too high, connection issues (inc board grounding and dirt) and build issues.

This is a known problem with all DNA chips... and the only way I've found to get around the Temp Control resetting so that it doesn't show OFF as you fire the mod is to unlock the temp control scroll all the way up through to the highest temp, and then back down again. In some cases you have to do this for the power setting as well and then the temp control should start working again. This problem has been around for at least 2 years now and I still don't get why Evolv, hasn't taken care of this. I see it happen on all my DNA 200's and my latest DNA 250 mod sees this issue as well. It's hard to determine exactly what causes it but I only use SS 316L wire, so I know that may be a factor. It has only ever happened to me a hand full of times and been either a original wrong cold res or connection issue.  I have about a dozen different DNAs and I have been exclusively vaping in temp mode since the DNA 40 came out.  It is not a common problem with the board, not a problem with the board at all.

Evolv have increased the margin before it drops out of temp control, it was originally 185 F increase in first second and now 185 F in the first two seconds.

Like I said in my previous post, it's not an easy one to nail down for why it's occurring, but I've seen it with every DNA I've owned... I strictly use SS 316L wire for all my coils and always have... that's probably the difference. You guys are clearly wrong about it being fixed because I just found a post from almost 2 years ago where people are describing the same problem, and a similar workaround that I described above to get around it. Now that's not to say some of these aren't from build issues... but my workaround fixes my issue every single time so it's not a build problem here on my end. It's just physics, a material with very low TCR which is an alloy that can vary between batches and inconstant resistance between the board and coil(s), it doesn't happen to me with SS (I use StealthVape SS).  This can be problem atties, 510s, wiring or build and can be challenging to track down as due to the very low TCR milliohms count.  The ss regulation has improved beyond all recognition since that post from a year and a half ago you quote with the release of version 1.2.   SS is the most marginal material we use, Evolv realised this from the get go (see Brandon's comments on it on Busardos into to the DNA 40 video) they tried to avoid it and didn't even include the profile with the early 200 fw.  But it is very popular so they have provided an excellent material profile and continued to improve the ss experience and since the first version of the 75 and since V1.2 (July last year IIRC) on the 200 ss has been as good and reliable as other materials for me and I using triple twisted dual build.  Claptons etc are more difficult to get consistent, but again that is just the physics of the coils the board has to work by the resistance it reads.

I also use SS316L without issue.  My thinking it is a build issue, connective issue, problem atty, wiring issue, etc. If it was a board issue I would think I would see it on one or all of my 5 DNA devices and would have seen it during all the beta testing also. SS316L tweaking in the firmware over the years greatly improved it's performance since it was first added as an available wire that can be used with DNA stuff.  The majority (over 98%) of issues with dna devices are not board related. I also never lock my resistance. Refinement is there for a reason.

EDIT: I also use the default wire csv for SS316L that comes with the DNA.  I don't use a csv. from Steam Engine, nor tweak the default csv.

@StressTest, can you post screenshots of your Thermal settings, profile settings, and a screenshot from Device Monitor while firing the device?

Ahhh Haaa!  I was going to mention in my last post that the one (actually 2) thing(s) that I'm doing which may greatly differ from those not seeing the issue is that I DO lock my resistance... The reason I do is because I constantly see a down drift of the ohms as I vape.  The other thing that I do which you clearly have indicated retird is that you use the stock csv, I don't because I'm running Fused Claptons most of the time and I wanted a closer match to the correct TCR.

This to me is probably the culprit in the equation why a lot of you aren't seeing this issue.

As for sending you a pic of my settings, it's really not necessary, I was only chiming in to give those seeing this issue so that they could use the same workaround I've been using for a couple years now, and since I have a workaround that works for me, I'm not that concerned about the issue.

Anyway, I hope this helps clarify a few things.  Maybe someone else would be willing to test out this theory and see if they begin seeing the issue when they lock their ohms, or by using a custom csv file.  Heck it could be a combination of both that's causing the issue.
