If you bother to read I said huge mod about a 5000 mAh battery.
-
I know that's the pressure point, just trying to keep it simple with the nominal values.

23 A x 11.1 V = 255 W 255 W / (3.7 V x 2) = 34.5 A There are no 35 A continuous 18650 that I know of, plus the risk of users reversing them, the size and the need to keep them in pairs for life.

Not arrived yet so just generic tips: have you tried other cables and cleaned the cable connections, especially on the micro end of the cable. You have probably done these, but just in case
-
Yes if you like huge mods. People in general specifying high mAh remember the bigger the battery the longer it takes to charge, personally I have a low tolerance for anything that takes over 90 mins to charge test days. I think it is life style specific if you spend most of the day close to a USB socket you can keep topping up, but if not and you have a 3 day battery it is going to need a long charge time, we are all different and YMMV.

EScribe Software link and tutorial
VapingBad replied to Brandon's topic in Manuals, Instructions, and Tutorials
The case analyser section: Click the Type: combo box slide: the red highlight box is not shown for the Electrical section, when I click the combo I get flagged incorrect. Type 26 slide: is confusing as it doesn't ask you to type anything until after pressing next, I respectfully suggest highlighting the next button when the commentary ends. After you click next you get 2 commentaries at the same time. Firefox Win8.1 Ultimate 64 bit. -
EScribe Software link and tutorial

The case analyser section: when you click the "case analyser button" the "room temp" dialogue for the next slide appears for a second but disappears before you are asked to click it's OK button The commentary states that complete analysis will take about an hour, but John just said it is about 6 hours. The type 45 slide doesn't require you to type anything The type 85 slide asks you to type 50, but this is flagged incorrect and a speach bubble briefly appears with "type 45" in, but I cannot backspace or delete the 50. There is a submit button bottom lhs that flags incorrect if you press it Firefox Win8.1 Ultimate 64 bit. -
"the thing" secret internal code name for project lol
-
lol, the gift that keeps on giving, thought it may stay of as it would be below operational current, but I didn't really think hard enough as production and vendors need to be able to flash it quickly and easily
-
I would thought it needed a battery (or sudo battery) to connect the first time though wouldn't it @Bapgood?
-
As others said, you need max 23A This is the one I bought, 12V 25A: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC-5-12-24V-Universal-Regulated-Switching-Power-Supply-for-LED-CCTV-3D-Printer-/111544566393?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item19f8930279
It's obviously a typo I think you meant "As others said, you need min 23A" as you linked to a 25 A supply.

The manual states bottom of page 13. As you said it need the 3 resistors mentioned in the FAQ

JST-XH connector wire gauge?
VapingBad replied to VapingBad's topic in Connectors, Components, and Accessories
There are pin numbers on the board (manual pg 15) and the connector spec can be found http://www.jst-mfg.com/product/pdf/eng/eXH.pdf . -
Well I did try and help at the time lol, I love the 40, but had to learn it all the hard way. But, this forum and the interactive training are excellent ideas and think you are setting a new standard now.

Just a vaper from the UK that has built myself 4 DNAs, I'll add a pic. I am very impressed that John and Brandon have been getting involved on here as it must be crazy busy there ATM. 75x68x22mm
-
I'm just a tight wad that wants to max the life battery life lol Thanks John
-
Cheers John, I know for 18650 this will double their life and have read the it will quadruple the life of a lipo. Nice work btw, only got 2 DNA30s and 2 DNA40s ATM, I built all of them, 3 with hand built boxes (75x38x22mm with an 18650) and am really looking forward to getting my hands on the 200.

Will we be able to set this to 4.1 V to increase battery life time? If not I would suggest it be considered for the future.

JST-XH connector wire gauge?
VapingBad replied to VapingBad's topic in Connectors, Components, and Accessories
That was my 1st idea, but Hobby king were out of stock so have just got the plugs ans sockets on the way.
Am I correct in thinking that the board comes with a unattached connector ?
Yes they come unconnected so you can chose the orientation. -

JST-XH connector wire gauge?
VapingBad replied to VapingBad's topic in Connectors, Components, and Accessories
Thanks @SSV Balance charging is new to me and I think I read that balance board will divert current from a battery at a higher voltage during charging or some periodically drain a little charge from a high battery to keep the balance. If that is correct then the first case would be no more than 400 mA 4.2 V or <= 1.7 W would that be a fair max power for these lines then? -
JST-XH connector wire gauge?
VapingBad replied to VapingBad's topic in Connectors, Components, and Accessories
To create a little more space in my enclosure and save strain on the board connections I plan to mount the JST-XH female connector on 30 mm long leads, but there are no suggested wire gauges or current limits in the data sheet for these can anybody advise?
