I was addicted to tobacco most of my life. I firmly believe that switching to ecigs has extended my life by years. Not only does scientific research show that it is 95% less harmful, but my own body (& my physician) tells me that it is less harmful. I urge you to support the H.R.2058 - FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act of 2015 Products that existed before the February 2007 "predicate date" simply did not work, where current generation products DO work. As a result I have been tobacco free for 3.5 years. Please allow me the legal means to stay off of tobacco! I vote, and I will support politicians who support my right to "harm reduction". It is one $330k (& 170 manhour) application per "product". Each atty, mod, flavor of juice, is considered a different product.

It will put virtually all Mom & Pop shops out of the ejuice mixing business, which is currently their livelihood. They cant afford these fees. Also, it will put small, custom craft Modders, like myself, out of business. I cant afford a $330k fee just to sell a couple hundred mods, even if Evolv supplies a "Masterfile".

There was only 1 version that included a FW update for the DNA200, that was version 1.0.49 (dated 4/25/16) and it accidentally got leaked here (then pulled). It was intended for "beta testers" only. There is NOT any "release version" of new DNA200 FW at the time of this posting. If you ever installed 1.0.49 (dated 4/25/16) then the FW will still be in your folder, even though you have upgraded to 1.0.56 or whatever. The newer versions dont include DNA200 FW, but they dont delete the old ones either. If you run this 1.0.49 FW (dated 4/25/16) and your DNA200 dies, dont say you weren't warned!!!! If you are running it, I would recommend rolling back to a previous version!

Be cautious with that firmware. There have been several reports of DNA200s dying a couple hours after being flashed to the leaked firmware. Mine was one of them!

$330k+ and 1700 man-hours "per product" is an undue burden. Only multi-million $ corporations can shoulder that.

5 lbs (roughly) of tension against that spring! Works extremely well for TC where resistance is so critical. I have several of them and installed they all measure 0.004 of "Mod Resistance". Edit: I am not related to Protovapor in any way, I got mine from Evolv. I am simply a big fan of these 510s.

You dont have to, but it helps. Battery Analyzer wont begin the tests until it validates a full charge, and it will top off the charge if it needs to.

The most accurate thing to do is run "Battery Analyzer" on your own Mod. Then you will have no doubt.

Thats what I have vaped since I started 3+ years ago, havent reduced my nic levels, but I do vape a lot less juice per day now. It keeps the nico-demon off my butt, used to inhale cigars all day.

I had a similar issue on one of mine. I dropped the Mod and one of those "inductors" fell off. My suggestion is to get an RMA from Evolv and let them fix it. Of course if you have the capability of soldering it yourself, go for it. As to what damage it could ultimately cause, I dont know. I suspect it might be more of an issue at higher wattage. I know mine appeared to work to with one inductor missing. However, it is there for a reason, if it only needed one inductor I am sure Evov would have saved the money and board real estate.

Sound logic, what about a newer version of Escribe? Maybe something got fixed. I know the newest one pushes out a firmware upgrade as well.

I honestly have never found the square buttons to be any issue at all. Evolv did a great job on those square buttons, they have a bevel on all sides that prevents the edges from catching on anything. The round buttons were decided on, in the above design, simply because the machining was less expensive.

The "Materials" are only for temperature wire. If you are using kanthal it should automatically detect it and put you in VW mode.

I think, with regard to catastrophic failure, it all comes down to - how fast does that fuse blow. Been vaping on the DNA200 since about August/September of last year, have built dozens of mods, have a half dozen in my own stable, have never seen nor heard of a reason to be concerned about a blow-out yet. But then - to each their own vape.........

Need? - No, but it sure is convenient for the way I vape and attys I use. IMHO, and in actual observation in Device Monitor, none of these 3 points are valid. Why? Because the mod never goes above 75w (or so) anyway. I am vaping on dual TI coils that average around 0.14 to 0.15 ohms at 480f. What I typically see in Device Monitor is a brief jump to 75ish watts during pre-heat (for a second or less) and then 480f is reached and temp limiting kicks in and throttles the watts down to 35w or less. So it is no harder on the battery, board, or coil than if I set the max watts at 90w. It is just more convenient as I never even have to even think about watts when I change attys or whatever. This is a valid point in theory, but only in the event of a catastrophic failure. Ever since the 200 came out, I have never heard of even one such catastrophic failure where this was a danger. Sure, there have been failures, but the fuse has limited the potential danger in all cases I have heard of. If I am not mistaken there are actually 5 levels of safety engineered into the board, between that and the board's reputation, I personally am not concerned enough about it to change my 200w max.
