1. I own a VS200 too and it is a great device, but... The battery requires constant recharging if you ask for much watts. My solution was getting an Efusion duo (133W - 2 18650) and a Therion (75W - 2 18650) VS recharges fast with a 2A charger , is small and light, but if you need more "juice", you'd be better with an equipment that you can change battery fast. VaporShark has a DNA133, so that may be a good option also. If you want/need more than 133W, you must go to a 3 18650 device , to get full 200W Answering more directly to your question, for now i do not know any lipo with more than 900-950mah that you can fit in there without major modifications. Beware: Collecting DNA devices is highly addictive, as many users in this forum may testify.
2. What is the device? Is mod resistance set properly? Did you try to update again? Maybe something went wrong while updating... To start, after checking that all is well set , i would download escribe again (just in case something got corrupted) and would re-install update. But the pros will give you more suggestions soon, i believe
3. I am not sure if new firmware changed that, but in my Efusion, when i did change batteries, he did reset the ohms, so it was equivalent to put new atty (but without asking if it was new coil)
4. I believe so. I also have a Therion and an Efusion Duo and rotate batteries between them. If they are being used together they age the same way, so should be no problem. But maybe some battery expert can enlight us more
5. Maybe is better if you just add the profiles instead of all values for the mod. I can share with you some that i am using. Some of them was my fine tuning for some tanks, but i think materials will be included there and you can modify them to your taste. Give it a try and tell me if it worked SS316L (by Jaquith - V7) A good SS316 profile GoblinMini Ti (Titanium) Dolphin Tungsteen Nife48 (Same as Nife 52) You can always get any material from SteamEngine. It is very easy to get all materials from there, and usually they work well. niFe48.ecigpr dolphin_Tungsteen.ecigpr GoblinMiniTi.ecigpr ss316ljaquithv7.ecigpr
6. You can. Its the same to change temp in "watt dominant" mode. 5 clicks to lock device, once locked press + and - for a few seconds, and you will be able to change watts. After you change watts, you press fire 5 times again to unlock .
7. See /topic/65685-topic/?do=findComment&comment=888893 . Seems the same situation
8. From what i understood, you can use more than 100 18650 in parallel Joking - but in parallel, as soon as it meets the "needed voltage", you will just be adding "vape time"
9. Therion have a mechanical reverse battery protection. May be that the reason. Take a look in the positive poles and you will see some plastic around them to prevent a negative pole making contact. Maybe that plastic is protruding too much in one of them. I am tempted to cut that off, as it damages the wrapping on the batteries.
10. I think the best way for you to learn more about DNA and Escribe is to see some videos, read, try and keep around. You are in one of the best places to learn all about this great devices. I will let you a few videos that may be useful: These are from DNA 200 but the base is the same, so it is a great starting point: This is episode III, and is not needed, but also adds some more DNA knowledge: This one is also good, from DJLsbVapes: About custom Materials: So, as you see, it is not hard to get information on how it works, but it haves a learning curve I do not know, maybe i am duplicating videos and information here? But if not, it would be useful to have info for people who are starting in this DNA thing to start...
11. Double check if you have correct profile. Just to be sure, download it from steam engine, or use the one i attach here. DNA200-SS_316-SteamEngine.csv I also had wrong profiles on one of my mods and had that behavior
12. From what i've seen, it will not fit. At least without heavy modifications. It is 23mm in thickness and you have 21mm inside the VS. Even if you solve that problem you will have to do a new door as you will not be able to fit the original (battery would protrude a lot from the box). You may have to stick to a 900/950 mAh battery.
13. Today i upgraded a friend's Efusion Duo. Did measured before upgrade with my tool and it was 0.004 . Immediately after upgrade to SP3 it had the same behavior of mine - the ? So now i am 100% sure. SP3 change internal resistance settings. My doubt now is: Keep the same 0.004 or change to 0? Also is it 0.004 or 0,004? Note: That big guy was like a child with a new toy after try the smoothness of SS16L now. Before was using temp limit as safety, now is using temp dominant in pure temp control.
14. My VS200 didn't seems to change also - only the Efusion Duo. Can it be useful to share board serial numbers to help to reach some conclusion? (that question is aimed to Evolv staff)
15. Hey... I see a pattern here! After all, my "?" in Efusion duo may be not be attributed into a very well cleaned 510... Anybody else can confirm that symptoms? Don't want to be too picky but i am sure Evolv want us to get the perfect machine, so we must help them to get there That didn't happen on the VS Edit: That is just a guess, but... Can it happen that when programming some parameters internal resistance of test device was also included? Sorry if i am wrong, but i'm just guessing as i don't have a clue of how it's done
16. Updated VS a few hours ago and so far, so good with sp3. SS now is smooth just like the rest of DNA family. Went to check resistance on atomiser analyzer and after taking out the tool it continues to display some resistance there (like happened on the Efusion Duo), but in VS, when i put the tool it doesnt appear the ? like happens on Efusion. Maybe in that one i really managed to lower resistance to 0.002 and now it cant read that number. As it is so good with SS now, we shouldn't use the Jaquith V7 profile, right? Or it continues to be ok even with sp3?
17. I have a Therion and my batteries are used till last drop. We must not forget that it uses two 18650, so the load is divided by them two. I also set it to 2.65 (did read in the forum that good batteries can stand that without problem) Other thing you can do is lower preheat. That way it will not start at max watts. Do you have latest firmware? It also helps a bit on that situation. In Escribe take a look in device monitor to see how low it goes voltage under load. More than that, just changing cables inside, as on some devices they used lower diameter than should (from what i read)
18. And one can always revert to a previous fw version, right? From what i see i have several old ones in my pc...
19. Did try again... As i start to screw the tool it displays 0.02x, but as soon as it gets solid connection, it goes to ? Can it be that by deep cleaning the positive pin i reached that low res??? Did put 0.003, just in case that is some bug Is 0.002 the minimum it reads? Maybe i should put that number there. Other question: Is it already safe to put sp3 in my VS? Or still some problem with the 2A Charge? Anyway we can always "go back", right? Will wait for some more answers before doing it. SS in DNA200 now is so smoooooth... Thanks Evolv
20. Sure Did put 0 and Uploaded. Only saw this behavior after applying SP3. That's why i am curious about other's experiences.
21. Usually i just clean it wit a swab, but from time to time i like to clean it very well, so i use metal cleaner in the swab. Is it ok to use also contact cleaner, or it can harm something there? I also noticed that sometimes the central pin gets a bit dry and will not work at its best. What could be a good lubricant to put there? Or is it something to avoid? I have some dielectric paste that stands high temperatures. Putting just a bit of that in central pin (where it slides - not on top) may be good idea? I already used that on mechanical mods (it was part of solution with my stingrays sticky button) but this is a totally different beast Some silicone spray could be an option too? I wanted something that lubricates but do not interfere with current or resistence. Thanks in advance for your advices
22. Can it be that with that good cleaning (with some brass cleaner) the connectivity is so good that actual resistance is lower than the previous 0,004??And what about the last resistance continue to appear in Atomiser Analyser even after taking out the tank? Bug or feature?
23. I wonder if it happened to anyone else and if it has something to do with this last firmware upgrade: After well cleaning the 510 , i decided to measure once again the mod internal resistance. I did made a proper tool to that, some time ago and it worked well before. (May share later a photo, but basically is the base of plumeveil with a copper or brass - not sure - screw, that is on the place of positive pin, making a good, solid short) Now, when i try to use it again on the Efusion Duo, all i get is a question mark in Atomiser Analyser, (even putting the mod resistance to 0) and when i put a tank, it gets exact reading, but it keeps there even after taking out the tank... Bit weird. It only does that with the efusion that i did put SP3. With the VS (still with older firmware) it works as it was before and also with the Therion 75. Escribe is the latest one, with SP3 Can anyone with the SP3 try to replicate that? Thanks dwcraig1 - same post i did put on the link, only wrong page
