Screen issues

Having a weird issue with a custom DNA-200 I had made. The screen immediately dims after the fire button is released and sporadically it will just work normally but mostly will not. Odd thing is is that I have it's twin brother setup identically to it and it does not exhibit this behaviour. I've restored default settings and I've hard rebooted the device to no avail.

Before I started playing with settings the screen would only be lit while the fire button was pressed. I now have it to where it will only be dimmed.

Am on mobile so cant copy and paste to look on utube, but that sounds like a bad connection, worst case a cracked or snagged screen ribbon, but hopefully a greasy contact or juice in the screen connector tabs. Your gonna have ta get back in there.

Oh man, I hope not. I just got the box back after knocking a magnet out of one of the buttons. :/

Just talked to the guy who had it last and he said he had to reset that cable when he worked on it. He knows his stuff so if there was damage to the ribbon cable he would recognize it.

When the board is on USB power the issue disappears and comes back when under the battery power. Guessing it's a battery issue then?

Does the mod fire OK when with USB cable connected?

Yeah, it fires fine on or off USB power. I'm getting ready for bed so I'll have to confirm this in the morning but the issue seems to go away above 75% battery charge.

set it up how you need it, put it in stealth mode, use it for the day, if there are no other issues come to light, the screens buggered.. or poorly fitted....

Hmm.. Weird that it works fine above a certain charge level if it's a screen issue but I really wouldn't know.

Guy who wired it for me doesn't really have time to deal with it so I guess I will wait until I am back to work and replace it with the Lavabox or something. Thanks guys.

Alright, might take a bit as the lipo in it is a bit beefy but I just switched it over to show battery voltage. (I love Escribe)

Or perhaps I won't have to wait very long, as it just now started doing it again. Box says the voltage is 12.1.

Oh... that is just under 4.10v per cell. Hmm... that wasn't what I was hoping for.

Well if you get energetic enough maybe switch screens between the two mods.

I was hoping it would act up with some ridiculously low cell voltages like 3.2v or lower. But just barely under 4.1 per cell is a really problematic.

I see what your getting at,, i wouldnt recomend swapping the screens over though, the ribbons cant take being reworked. i think he would be better to buy a new screen for the sake of a few quid, he then wont be desturbing a working mod..
