MikeTheVapeDude
Nevermind my ground wire was loose, just had to solder it up.
BillW50
Using steam-engine.org/wirewiz.asp, I entered in values that gave me a 0.5 ohm Kanthal coil. And having a resistance of 0.5 at room temperature and heating it to 800ºF the live resistance would be 0.5068 ohm. At 482ºF it would be 0.5011 ohm. MikeTheVapeDude
My concern was the DNA was doing something now it wasn't doing before. I'm vastly aware of temperature effects on wires, I'm an associate's level electrical engineer, with the 4-25 fiasco it worried me. Turns out my 510 ground was loose and needed a resolder. Thanks guys.
BillW50
Yes I know you are vastly aware of temperature effects on wires. But I was just showing you by how much. A Kanthal at that resistance, you might see a change from 0.50 to 0.49 or 0.51 ohm if it was right on the edge of changing anyway. But you won't see anything else more drastic. VapingBad
I think fiasco is way over the top, it was never recommended for DNA 200s and was only available for a few hours as part of a DNA 75 download. If people just stuck to what Evolv posts in the Early FW thread, IE official releases for the DNA 200 then nobody would had a concern. Your device has not been adversely affected by it MikeTheVapeDude and if it was Evolv would have replaced the board so IMO not a fiasco, maybe a slip would be a more realistic word.
