Display issue ?

Hi

I am not sure if this is a fault or simply not a feature but when setting up display options on my new hcigar dna75 there are some differences to my vaporshark DNA 75. When selecting which data to display in temp and power modes (screen tab) if you try and set charge or using screens to display different settings in power/temp mode (bottom line watts in temp and current in watts) will not work. You have to change in both modes together to get display to change on device. This is handy and works on my 200. As I said not sure if this simply is not just a feature on the 75 or a bug. I am dotting the tick box only in temp profiles. Also there is not an option on the 75 to display USB charge current when charging like the 200 but again this may only be a feature on the 200 or indeed just feature of vaporshark. Does anyone no what features differ on stock 200 and 75 boards?

Cheers

Si

welcome djsilites. i do know the usb current being able to be displayed on the mod screen is not a feature of the dna 75. i'm not quite sure i understand your first part of your question. i can set opposite fields in temp and and power controlled settings and them displayed no problem. take a screen shot of the screen tab of what you're trying to upload to your 75 and post it here.

Hi

Thanks for your reply. I have to select the same display information in both to get that info on device. If I have different items for power and temp modes the device randomly selects one of the two options to display. 1st pic shows 3rd info line as temp in temp mode and current in power mode when I upload to device most of the time it shows current in both power and temp modes but sometimes it will show temp in both modes. The only way to guarantee that the info on device is the same as set is to make both power and temp screens the same second pic. Thought USB current may be only on 200, do you know if there is an options comparison list available to show differences between 200 and 75.  Thanks for your help

Cheers

Si

strange why you can't display different field options in power and tc screens. i can have completely different boxes for all and have them upload fine. maybe you think you're leaving tc mode and going into plain power but you're not. as for a list i'll list what i can remember.....

dna 200 - 9v limit                              dna 75 - 6.2v limit
usb current displayable                   no usb current displayable
manual input of watt hours              not able to input wh's manually
              no programmable LED's                    programmable LED
watt hour based batt meter             voltage based batt meter
no reverse batt protection (fuse)      reverse batt protection (mos)
buck dc dc only                             buck - boost dc dc
              97% efficient                                85% efficient
more options in device monitor          less options in device monitor
usb voltage displayable                    no usb voltage displayable
usb power displayable                      no usb power displayable
watt hour charge % displayable         no wh charge % charge displayable

there's more but those are the major differences i can think of for now.

Thanks CB Will continue to play and see how I get on. Maybe I am not selecting power mode correctly (profile screen and uncheck box for temp ctrl). It also may be as I am still mainly using Hcigar 75 out of box setup which is not good at all, was way way better on VS 200 their stock setup in a different class. But have to say 75 is a great little device for my normal vaping style (60w pre heat tc ss316 220-230c) precise and consistent as you would expect from Evolve and really good build quality from Hcigar. Copied a custom profile for my Moonshot over and mainly been using that for my day time vaping, was gonna setup rest when I have a bit more time, may just try coping over whole setup from VS and see how it goes. Will post back anything new. Cheers Si

are you "uploading" your custom screens to your mod once you load them in escribe? you can't load custom screens for materials, only custom screens for the 8 profiles, if that makes sense. press and hold -/+  to lock power/temp then double tap - or + to scroll through your 8 profiles. your custom screens will be in there.

  • 3 weeks later...

Don't consider this a bug but just posting what occurred as it's the first I've seen this and don't recall any posts similar to this either.

So I was out and about with a 75.  I always  lock it before pocketing the device.  5 clicks brought up a scrambled screen never seen before.  Thought to myself "this is strange".  5 clicks to unlock and scrambled screen again.  DNA75 works and vapes normally and no scrambled screen at all unless I 5 click to lock/unlock.  Used it for 5 hours, while out and about.

Returned to the house and still 5 click scramble so I went to EScribe with it.  It would not connect to EScribe whether locked or unlocked.  Still vapes normally with all menu presses working normally except 5 click scramble.  Only thought was that the 75 got confused so I pulled the battery and put it back (hard reset).  All is well again.......  this device is a reference device used during beta testing and has been flawless.  I'm thinking the board got confused somehow but will monitor it and update if it does this again....  While I had the battery out I looked around the inside and saw nothing unusual and no liquid anywhere in the device. Ribbon cable placement not an issue either.

Just noting this one time event.....
