masonjarvapes
maybe this has been covered but i noticed that you can wire up remote buttons for the fire, + and -. If you use those, do you have to remove the buttons already on the pcb or will it still work?
reeder359
I'm wondering the same thing. I just ordered my buttons and 510 connector. I'm putting the whole set up in a hammond 1590b box mod and was wondering about all the soldering. I don't want to use the on board buttons because I want this to be a very durable long lasting mod. So of there's anyone that could help it would be great with all the wiring and soldering. Thanks
blueridgedog
There are solder point for off chip buttons. On-chip buttons can be left in place if you use them.

ThanksI think you might be surprised at the life ratings these switches have, if you asked John or Brandon they will probably give you a link to the product page of the switches used on these 200 boards. It would be interesting to compare the life ratings to the popular clicky dome tactile switches.
turbocad6
the dome tact's are not waterproof I searched for waterproof micro switches like this and never found anything good. these are said to be waterproof, meaning there def not just the cheapest switches, there probably higher quality than the ball tact's really would be my guess. masonjarvapes
I have something special in mind, my question to DNA is can I order one without the switches installed?
scoopy
Whether they put the buttons on or not u can still connect your choice of buttons and connect them to the thru hole pinouts on the side of the board....u can leave the original buttons on and still use the aftermarket buttons with no problem......unless u absolutely have to have the original ones off that's a different story
masonjarvapes
I'd rather not have the buttons on the board for accidental pushes if something shifts around
turbocad6
you can't order one chip that way. you might be able to order 300 or 500 of them with a special request like that but the only practical way to do one is to remove them after if you must have them off

Brandon
We use waterproof Omron buttons (IP67) on the 200. Rather than remove the buttons, you could remove the button enclosure and rubber actuator which would be easier and protect against accidental button presses. Brandon
And the onboard buttons are rated to 100,000 operations minimum.
turbocad6
the cheap little bb type buttons are NOT ip67 rated which is why I think the onboard buttons are probably better than the external bb buttons, and they do feel better to me than the bb's
Guest
The STJ series buttons are ip67 rated but I'm still looking for a vender. There's something about the dome tactile that I like. But yeah to each there own.

KTMRider
Button life came up on ECF and I was curious to know. I thought it was 300,000 to 500,000. 100,000 isn't a lot. I already have 80,000 puffs on most of my DNA200's. Does anyone have more than 100,000 puffs on theirs?
