Think vape finder 250

Hello all, New here....I am hoping I can get help. I have been trying to figure out how to get my finder 250 going on tc mode. It's less than two weeks old. I use a ss316 coil, 8 loops, Sony vt5 batts...I change the settings for batt.. etc. cold resistance is about .24 ohms The problem is that when I fire it up, it intermittently works in tc mode and keeps on showing the "temperature protected" notice and won't fire the mod. I noticed that even if the mod cooled down, the resistance is still at .50 plus ohms. When I click on the buttons or use wattage mode and then go back to tc it sometimes works most of the time it does not. Also, when it is working under tc mode, unlike the therion 166 it shows the temp ramping up. Mine just shows the max temp and when you hit the fire button it shows "off". Any thoughts on this?

if you haven't dry burned in watts mode to get rid of hot spots then that is the most likely cause
pulse them on a low wattage and tweak the same as kanthal till you get good even glow
don't blast the coils with high wattage and don't get them bright yellow more a dark red

spaced coils don't need a dry burn to work in tc so more peps use that method

I'm still learning how to get on with tc but that's half the fun

I agree, it's part of the fun. Only problem I have is I get hypernic from the testing lol. Thanks for your inputs

update....

been playing around with my Thinkvape Finder 250. I now realize that the mod is not properly identifying the installed material.

I tried SS and finally got my hands on some Ni200 24 gauge wire. i did 14 wraps dual coils on a 3.0 and got a reading of .10 ohms on my coil master tester. Installed it on my mod and played around with escribe.

BTW, im using an engine rta with this mod...

observations:

1. it intermittently detects the coils.
2. there are times that some profiles detect the coils and then it stops.
3. played around with Temperature dominant, tried locking ohms.

still got the same intermittent issue.

I ordered SS wire and titanium grade 1 on ebay and will get it by friday. will do some builds.

any comments or violent reactions?

What does this mean? YOU need to set the mod to the material type you have installed.

Sure hope it was a quality supplier. Lotsa shady sellers. With SS being an alloy, the actual composition can change from order to order to supplier. <- That contributes to SS TC issues.
