It sounds like you might have had a tiny piece of solder bridging something on the board somewhere. When I suspect something like this I take a jewelers loupe and look over every single bit of the pcb in question and I will do this 2 , 3 , 4 maybe 5 times until I can be 100% positive with no doubt that I would have found it if that was the problem. And I have been surprised by what I have found before even straight from the factory with some pcb's .

Do you have pre heat on ? If you do and the pre hat temp is set low it will make it seam like it fires slow .

When you solder that so you don't burn the ribbon take a small piece of foil and place it on top of what you are soldering that should help with keeping the ribbon in Good shape and let me know if you end up needing this thing it isn't going anywhere so it will be here if you do

Well like I had said in the other post if you were willing to get a new ribbon cable connector and solder it in yourself. Then skip the connector and solder the little contacts that are left of the knackered clip directly to the ribbon cable. It's very easy to do get some low melting point soldering paste and spread some on the ribbon and place it were you want it and heat it with the hot stick. I'm not sure how much time you have had working with a soldering iron but the one thing to be aware of when using soldering paste don't use it like the bigger the gob the better the job mo paste don't mean mo better . Use only a little and it will all flow to the meatal to metal joints and won't leave any solder between joints to short on out your hard work. I don't know about you but when I dump a bunch of effort into something and something like solder crossing over pads and shorting out ruins as ll no that effort. As if by magic that project takes flight across my shop hits the wall and breaks itself down into smaller pieces . If you try doing something like this the worst that could happen is the broke connector stays broke and you are out a couple dollars sorry I meant quid for a screen . I have to been working on electronics for most of my life and that is what I would do if I were in your situation . But the whole board is still there if that's path you want to take and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it I thought it was was acting up so I swapped it with a new one and the same things were happening . Ask it turns out it was the cheap coils I bought trying to save a few cents . It hasn't started the magic flight yet though .

Like I said I just put a brand new board in my mod today just because I had an extra one if we can figure out how to work it out I can send you the one I took out still works it just about two years old so I replaced it let me know what you think I'll send you a picture of it

Are you sure it's broke I pulled out an extra board I have and it looks the same that part pulls up to let the ribbon in or out . My brand new board looks just like that when putting the ribbon in make sure it's in all the way or that part that lifts up won't stay clipped but that part is supposed to lift if you look at the ribbon it has a notch on each side that is how it's locked in place once you push that little hinged piece back down .If you want I have an extra 75 c board I could probably sell you but I don't know how we would work that out. If you look at the part you could desolder it and solder the ribbon directly to the board just use low temp solder paste and it should work fine or solder the ribbon directly to the pins I would try that first.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE POST THE SAME THEME WITH DIFFERENT WALLPAPERS SO MANY TIMES . I'M NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN BUT THERE IS NO REASON TO SIFT THROUGH THE SAME THEME 20 TIMES . YOU CAN POST ONE TIME AND HAVE A LIST OF ALL THE WALLPAPERS YOU WANT WITHOUT THE USELESS CLUTTER. THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO POST THE SAME THEME MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY ARE STREAMLINING THEIR THEME AND EVEN THOUGH IT LOOKS THE SAME IT ISN'T. THESE UPLOADS ARE UNDERSTANDABLE. IF PEOPLE AREN'T DOWNLOADING YOUR THEME POSTING IT 20 MORE TIMES WON'T CHANGE ANYTHING. LIKE I SAID NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN AND STIEFEL ANYBODY'S CREATIVITY. I JUST DON'T SEE WHY YOU DO IT.
