  1. 4.17 v at b- and b+ on the board. I get the same reading anywhere on the contact plates as well. Led works. I can't work building tvs, but the joints are solid. I did the 510 and contacts in the mod. Board first then soldered the rest after trimming while trying not to touch the box and melt it. There is no extra room at all for any slack to be hidden in there and not cause problems. im guessing I have another dud.....which seems insane.
  2. Solder joints should be fine but I'll grab the meter. I needed a new tip a long time ago and its a 30 dollar welled so I probably had more than needed as far as solder on the tip but you aren't breaking those joints off. I didn't use flux on the board, had some rosin core electrical solder (not Home Depot plumbing junk). I did use flux on the wires when tinning and on the contact plates. There is power getting to the board for sure and this time around I ditched the spring contacts I had been using which was definitely wonky but worked. it isn't asleep. Click fire 5 times or 50 no display on screen. But the led works.
  3. I want to start with you guys are top notch. I have had a pleasure with the customer service end of your products and can't say it enough about how great you guys have been with helping out your customers. I originally had just the screen issue I thought and so I purchased one as a replacement because I was impatient only to have the one sent by evolv show up first. Then when that was all up and running I had issues where the up down and select buttons acted as if they were stuck fire buttons ( it would show firing on screen then shut off as if 5 rapid clicks). Sent in and I assume before even looking into it a replacement was sent. That came last week and I was able to install last night but again I'm still having issues. After everything installed (same as it was before where I was able to get the chip on and running intermittently) I get almost nothing this time... When I throw a cell in the mod there is nothing on the display. No flickers, no flashes, no white display. Clicking the fire button, or any button, doesn't seem to do anything at first but then I realized without the faceplate on the mod that I can see the small blue/green led under the fire button illuminates when the fire button is pressed. With an rda installed you get no heating of the coil. I have installed escribe on my MacBook pro and I get the message that no compatible device is connected to usb. retry / cable etc. I have tried the other spare screens I have and none of them makes a difference. As i've now done this install about ten times I feel good about all solder joints but have to ask. I'm using two leads from the top of the board. Ground is running to the neg side of the 510 and out to the positive of the 510. From the positive contact of the battery I have a lead running to the bat + on the bottom of the pcb. I am not using the bat - in my setup and though I didn't see that specifically addressed in the pdf instructions I did read that the grounds and - are connected on the board so the ground lead to the - on the 510 should be fine, right? On the board I sent in i had wired the same and other than issues with the buttons everything worked from time to time and even fired. I used no glue, no flux, no crazy heat, any idea what I am doing wrong here? Would the usb connection function without a battery in the loop normally? with or without I get no connectivity to escribe. Anything to troubleshoot? I tried holding the fire and down buttons for 5 seconds for stealth mode but still nada and the usb still doesn't register as anything connected. Ruled out the cord as well, tried 3.
  4. Yah I've pressed it a bunch and nada. Is there any circumstances where up downnor select should cause an attempt to fire? With the screen dark the fire button wakes up the LCD. After that it is the only button that does not cause the screen to display the no atty message when clicked. If I install an atty then the up down and select buttons will get that response and for button gets nothing. it has never been exposed to eliquid, brand new board. Two little dabs of silicone adhesive on the rear when installed which peeled off when I removed. screen connector seated in there well. I had a hard time with the screen before and found I had separation of the ribbon cable at the connector. screen replaced and now this.
  5. So.....a screen arrives and I installed it. Throw a battery in and screen still dark. Click the fire button, screen illuminates and I see an asterisk, from that point I get nothing. The fire button acts if it isn't working but it must be if it wakes up the screen right? then I notice that the up down and select buttons when clicked I see the screen give the firing atomizer or no atty message then the did you connect a new atty message. I can't scroll with the buttons to select though for whatever reason. when the screen was dead and not connected, I could hit the fire button and with an atty on it would fire. Is there a way to reset it or is it likely something else going on? i don't see anything wrong visually but not sure where on the board I should be looking. Thought maybe a dot of solder could have come off my iron and be making contact but i see nothing. its a new board and screen from protovapor and went into this enclosure and has never seen any use other than test fired after soldering. Installed in the box only to realize I needed to change the angle I had soldered leads at because it's a tight fix. Thoughts? Possibly I cooked it from heat transfer but that doesn't seem right as it seemed to function fine without the display and now with a display it's as if all the buttons get the same function
  6. Thanks. Did that before posting here but being that it wasn't necessarily a warranty issue I figured I'd ask here as well.
  7. Hi all. Had to remove the screen from my 75c the other day and when I reassembled I had no display. The ribbon cable split a bit right at the connector. Any link for replacement part out there?
