  1. So I'm trying to make some custom gauges. but I can't figure out which data fields I can use. For instance, it doesn't seem like Puff Time can be used as a gauge (I can assume this is because there is no defined min and max value). But also Time (Minutes) cannot be used, neither can Ambient Temperature. I kind of wanted to make an animated logo that slowly changes color, so using a gauge seemed the best way to do it (tried using Minutes, but Seconds would be even better if it was available). But using a field like Atomizer Temp (which does work as a gauge) does not achieve the effect I'm looking for.

Can anyone tell me which fields can be used as a gauge?

I do know Screen Brightness, Replay Warmth, and Atomizer temp all work, are there any others?

@James this would be a great feature to enable any field to have a gauge, and let the designer define custom min and max values since I'm assuming that's the main hurdle to allowing this.

  2. I'm curious too. On my theme the screenshots show it in battery charging mode (green battery icons), AND in Replay mode but on a theme with Replay disabled. Very strange.

I originally thought how it works is the last tab on the conditionals page is what will be displayed. For instance, I have my battery field has three tabs, one for normal (where battery icon is white), one for low battery, and one for charging (where it is green). Since the charging condition was last, I figured that 's why it was displaying. But I switched it around and it didn't change the screenshot. And since most of my home screen is conditional (TC vs. watt vs. Replay), in the screenshot it basically looks empty.

I have determined with user toggles (if you are using them), that if you want something to display by default, you have to use the toggle to hide something, not to display it. E.g. I have a toggle on the Time page that turns on/off time and date from the lock screen.  I originally had the toggle enable date/time if they were checked, but then by default when loading the theme (or in screenshots), the time/date wouldn't appear. So I changed it so the toggle HIDES the date/time, and that fixed it. Now date and time are shown by default, and do appear in the screenshots. Not sure if this applies to anything outside of user toggle stuff though.

  3. Hey all, I am designing a theme that allows you to hide an item on the home screen by using one of the User Toggles. The problem, I want by default for the item to be displayed, and only disappear when the toggle is turned off by the user. However, itseems that the default state is to hide the item. I've tried it both ways, using a hidden object and adding a condtlirion to show the field, or using an field and using a condition to hide it.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!!

Here's the theme by the way, the time and date on the lock screen are what I'm talking about. They can be configured in Menu > Time config. But be default they seem to be hidden

  4. I have a theme (attached) where I am trying to give users an option to reset the total stats (total puffs, total puff time, etc). I take them to a confirmation screen where it says "Do you want to reset" and there is a YES and a NO. The YES is a label that is set with the action "Reset statistics." But pressing that button doesn't reset the stats.

Is anyone else having this problem?

One weird note, pressing the "Reset statistics" button does increment the "Reset count" counter, so it's registering the click, just not doing its job.

I'm using latest FW 1.1 SP33.2 and International Escribe. Same problem on 75 and 250

(if testing my theme, go to main menu (top right) > Info > Total Stats > Reset > Yes) (also the theme's main screen is a bit of a work in progress, trying to seamlessly integrate Replay.. don't judge me :grimacing:)

  5. Ok so I'm an idiot. Figured it out. For anyone else wondering, when you are creating or editing your theme's page, on the screen shots at the bottom you can select one of them as the "Primary screenshot." That'll do it.

For anyone unaware, if you need to edit you theme's page, scroll down to the "File actions" menu towards the bottom of the page, and select "Edit details"

  6. On this page, you can see that most themes have have photo next to the title that shows a preview of what their theme looks like. But for some reason some themes just have a blank camera icon, and no preview available. If you click on my actual theme page, you do get to see the generated preview, but it's not shown on the listing page (see attachment below - mine is on top). Anyone know how to resolve this, or is it done automatically?

  7. Thanks James.. I ended up getting it working with an email from the help desk suggesting a different EScribe SP. I then installed a firmware upgrade for the device itself and it all works great (Mirage 75c and Finder 250c). Really loving them both.

I would love to see some more documentation out there, especially for the Theme Designer... And the whole digging through forums for service packs feels a little outdated (I remember doing that for the old DNAs years ago). It's worth the effort to tweakers like me, but not everyone has the patience for that kind of stuff, as I'm sure you all know.

Anyway, thanks again! I really love these boards. The new features seem like they'll be game-changers for sure.

If you're still curious, I think the .ecig file I was having problems with is the one attached, though I made so many recently I can't be sure.

Oh, while I've got you.. I'm putting together a theme where I want to display the current that the device is pulling from the batteries. In the Theme Designer, is that Misc > Atomizer > Current or Battery > Current? The latter seems like the max available current (according to Escribe settings?), while the former looks like it changes and more closely represents the values I would expect at my voltage/resistance. So I'm guessing that's the one I want.

That theme will work with firmwares 1.1 SP29 and up.

Could you post your .ecig file? Whatever is causing that error may be in your EScribe settings, not your theme. That or it's a bug with the EScribe Suite version you are running. (I'm testing in 2.0 SP15.)

  8. I'm pretty new to all this DNA Color stuff (like this week), so I'm not too sure. But I think the locking is special, and maybe you can't configure that so much (other than the lock options, like on the SAFETY tab of EScribe where you configure locking sequence, etc).

As for the Lock Screen, I *think* that when you unlock the device it automatically goes to the Main Screen. I don't know if you can mess around with that or not. On the Lock Screen page there are some extra options, like you can do special stuff if the UP or DOWN buttons are clicked (I think). Play around with the software.. there isn't an official guide out there so check YouTube and then just test things out.

    Thanks a lot.

    It was helpful .

can i use condition to act upon unlock click if so then tell how to do it.

  9. It's a conditional. A little programming knowledge will probably help you. On your screenshot, it's saying if the BOARD TEMPERATURE is GREATER THAN some value (that you enter in the box), then DO SOMETHING.

When you create a condition, it adds a new tab so you can set up a configuration for when that condition is true. In your second screenshot, the tab says "Board temperature <= 1". So whatever changes you make in that tab, will only occur when the board temp is less than or equal to 1 (which probably will never happen, unless it's freezing outside). Maybe you could have it say a warning like "CAUTION: Board temperature is very cold"

One use for the conditionals is with USB. You can create a condition WHEN USB CONNECTED > ADD SOME TEXT TO SCREEN or something like that.

edit: your best best is going to be to find a theme that you like, and edit it. I used the default theme DJLSB made for the Lost Vape Mirage and just edited the fonts/colors/menu options etc. It's not super easy to build a whole theme from the ground up.

  10. Hey everybody,

I just got my first DNA color device (Lost Vape Mirage 75c) and it's incredible. But I'm trying to customize the theme but it won't let me load it back on to the device. I'm guessing there is some setting that I have checked that isn't allowed or something. Once I load my theme in EScribe (attached below), and try to upload settings to device, I get this error message:

    Quote

This device does not have a firmware compatible with the settings you are trying to upload.

If I re-select the default theme, it lets me go ahead and load the settings, so I'm guessing it's something wrong with my theme. But to be honest, I have just tweaked DJLSB's default theme for the Mirage and change the colors, fonts, etc. Any thoughts? Thanks!
